30 Days till I Divorce My Husband (Estrella and Jason)

Chapter 41

Sliding into her car, Estrella carelessly y tossed the hotel keycard Erin had given her onto the dashboard.

Hooking up with her, Erin was really playing with fire.

She let out a sardonic laugh and fired up the engine, heading back to the law firm.

It was past nine when Estrella got home from work, and Jason was already there. As she pushed the bedroom door open, Jason emerged from the bathroom, fresh from his shower.

Noticing him, Estrella placed her phone on the table. “Playing the good boy, huh? Came back earlier than me?”

Jason responded with indifference, “Maybe you should think about getting a different job.” He’d been coming home more often lately, not thrilled with Estrella pouring most of her time and energy into her career.

Estrella chuckled. “And here I was thinking you wanted to support me.”

“Don’t flatter yourself,” Jason retorted

Estrella sauntered over and playfully undid the belt of his robe. “Or maybe you satisfy me, and I’ll consider taking care of you instead.”

Jason looked at her coolly. “You think your family is that loaded, and I can’t bankrupt it?”

“Why not give it a shot?” Estrella teased.

Jason made a face of disgust “Go take a shower”

Estrella laughed again. “In such a hurry! Alright, wait for me then.”

After saying that, she straightened out his robe and headed for the bathroom, a spring in

her step.

After a while, Estrella emerged, drying her hair, when her phone on the table started. ringing. She picked it up with a meaningful smile.

She answered the call at a leisurely pace. Then Erin’s angry voice came through, “Estrella, are you playing games with me?”

Estrella sank into a chair, lazily responding, “You know, I’ve got quite the appetite. I wasn’t sure you could satisfy me, so I thought I’d have a few girls test you out. If you can handle

no cap on earnings. So when Erin arrived, those girls saw him as a cash cow. All of them were using their allure to win him over, and he had to exert some effort to escape their clutches.

Jason, overhearing Estrella’s conversation, glanced her way. Without asking, he knew she was up to no good outside.

Estrella’s brazenness was met with a cold laugh from Erin, “We’ll see, Estrella.”

With a dismissive snort, Estrella abruptly hung up. Erin thought he could get with her? It was laughable.

Tossing her phone aside, she caught Jason staring and flashed a teasing smile, “Can’t control your desire?” She even glanced down suggestively at his lower half.

“Estrella, don’t start something you can’t finish Jason warned. “Erin was looking for you?”

As she picked up a hair tie and casually gathered her hair up, Estrella replied, “Yeah, he’s

Jason was speechless. Estrella was not one to be outdone. She was a force to be reckoned with in Ravenwood, and Erin had some nerve. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

With a disdainful look, Estrella returned to her desk. “He also said, if you weren’t so quick, Paula would be my sister-in-law by now.”

Jason’s eyes darkened slightly but he didn’t dwell on it. He changed the subject, “Aren’t you going to sleep?”

Estrella picked up a file. “I’m not as lucky as you. I’ve got to review the Digital Springs. project.”

Cole had sent the project proposal to her email at noon. Busy with law firm matters during the day, she had to burn the midnight oil.

Jason didn’t respond, and Estrella turned to him. “Jason, don’t you want to use the project to get a grip on me? I’m willing to sleep with you if you can help me secure the deal for Dorvold Group.”

Jason chuckled, “Sounds to me that you get all the good stuff.” She wanted to sleep with him and have him help Dorvold Group? She sure had wishful thinking.

“You’re not seizing the opportunity,” Estrella quipped before returning to her work.

Time slipped by. When Jason looked up from his book, he saw Estrella had succumbed to sleep on the desk. He got up from the bed, lifted her gently, and placed her carefully on

the bed.

She pretended to be indifferent about returning to the company to help Cole, but she knew

better than anyone what mattered most.

Her dreams and her life – she was unwilling to sacrifice either.

The next morning, after exchanging a few sharp remarks with Estrella on the way to the office, Jason was at his desk when Erin walked in. His face was bruised and his left arm was in a cast. Despite his injuries, his refined demeanor remained intact.

Taking a seat across from Jason, Erin asked, “Was it your people last night?”

Soon after his call to Estrella, his car ride back to the Dorvold family estate was abruptly interrupted, resulting in his current state.

Jason looked up nonchalantly. “I heard you wanted Paula to start calling my wife sister-in-law.”

Erin’s face darkened. He hadn’t expected Estrella to tattle to Jason, especially S

since their

marital strife was no secret. Adjusting his shirt collar with his right hand, Erin tried to appeal to their families’ relationship. “Can you really take Estrella’s word for it? She’s just trying to stir the pot. Our families have always had a good rapport. Surely, there’s some trust between us.”

Erin was at a disadvantage, so he swallowed his pride and appealed to their long-standing cooperation.

Jason met his gaze. His voice was cool. “Since when are you in a position to talk about rapport with me?”

After a long stare, Erin stood up, conceding with a smile, “Fine.” After saying that, he left Jason’s office.

The office door closed with a deliberate, soft click, and Erin’s eyes immediately darkened with a chilling intensity.

Jason, utterly dismissive, had barely acknowledged his presence. Erin adjusted the collar of his shirt, and felt the muscles in his neck tense. The veins bulged visibly even against the backdrop of his otherwise refined demeanor. His hand, despite being encased in a plaster cast, showed veins that throbbed angrily on the back.

Inside the office, Jason allowed a cool, mocking smile to dance on his lips. Erin was clearly out of his depth.

Regarding last night’s conversation with Estrella, it was obvious she wanted to use Jason as a pawn to put Erin back in his place.

Jason was all too happy to oblige her this little favor.
