Chapter 102 :I Can’t Leave, I Can’t Stay
Through the glass window, Wendy saw that Rex was busy outside. He didn’t allow her to pick up Daisy because he had something to arrange. As a result, he left her here alone?© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Ah.” Wendy deliberately cried out.
When Rex heard the voice, he almost rushed in. When he saw Wendy’s painful expression, he immediately asked, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
“My stomach… I don’t feel very well.”
Rex hugged Wendy nervously. “What’s going on?”
Being so close to him, Wendy felt a little guilty. She pushed Rex away as if she was in a dilemma and rolled her eyes. “I think I have a stomachache. I’m going to the bathroom.”
After that, Wendy covered her stomach and left in a hurry.
She looked back a few times and saw that Rex had not caught up with her. Only then did she walk to the personnel department at ease.
Daisy just walked out of the personnel department. When she saw Wendy, she immediately went forward and asked, “Wendy, why did you come so late?”
Wendy smiled embarrassedly. “I have something to do over there. How is it? Did you hand in your document?”
“Yes,” Daisy said, “Anyway, thank you.”
“The logistics work is tiring. Don’t mind it,” Wendy held Daisy’s hand and spoke.
Daisy smiled and said, “Don’t worry. I understand. If there’s nothing else, you can go back first. I know the way. I’ll go by myself.”
“Can you?”
“Of course, I’m not a child anymore, you should go back.”
“Then I’ll go back.”
Wendy watched Daisy leave before turning around. As a result, she ran into a pair of sharp eyes, and her heart was like being hit by a small hammer.
“Follow me.”
His tone was so cold that it was scary. Wendy lowered her head and looked terrified.
“Wendy, don’t play these games with me in the future,” Rex said slowly after hearing Wendy come along.
“What are you talking about? I don’t understand,” Wendy said half-heartedly.
Of course, she would never admit to such a thing. Once she admitted it, she would die more miserably than anyone else.
As the elevator slowly rose, Wendy’s heart grew anxious and uneasy.
“Could it be that this man is angry? Did he go to the underground building just to see me?”
“Come down…”
“Go to the office and get the materials on the table. Come with me.”
Before Wendy could finish speaking, Rex had already put one hand into his pocket and walked out with his head held high.
The elevator door slowly closed, and the lights went all the way to the 27th floor.
Ding…
Wendy came out of the office. There was no one in the office. She pushed the door open and walked in. There was a folder on the table, and she picked it up. Suddenly, two pieces of paper fell out of the folder.
She bent down to pick it up. Suddenly, her eyes froze.
These were two blood test sheets. One had her name on it, while the other had Rosaria Gavyn’s name on it.
The blood type is matched. The rate of the match is 100%.
Her lips opened and closed, and she couldn’t say a word.
“What are you still standing there for? Aren’t you coming?” Rex’s voice suddenly came from behind her. She hurriedly stuffed the two blood test sheets into her pocket, then turned her head and walked over with her eyebrows lowered.
Rex didn’t notice anything wrong with her. He took the folder and said, “Accompany me to meet a client.”
“Go where?” It was easy for Wendy to talk too much when she was nervous. Rex glanced at her, “To the New World.”
…
In the car, Wendy sat in the front passenger seat with a myriad of emotions in her heart.
Rex secretly investigated her blood type. Could it be that what Cassie said was true?
The man who shared the same bed and pillow as she was thinking day and night about how to steal her heart. Then what about the child in her belly? Could it be a thing that he hadn’t expected?
“Rex, do you like boys or girls?” Wendy asked expressionlessly.
A faint smile appeared on Rex’s face as he said, “I like them as long as they’re yours.”
“Mine?”
Wendy did not say anything else. It turned out that from the beginning to the end, he had not regarded this child as his child. Once the child was born, she would have no value at all.
In the past, she was alone and could do whatever she wanted without any scruples. But the child was innocent. Now she was powerless and didn’t even have the money to give birth to a child.
In an instant, she fell into a dilemma.
She could neither leave nor stay.
She was miserable, but the perpetrator of all of this had always been her.
The pain in her heart was like embroidery needles, densely packed together, gnawing at her flesh and blood. The pain was magnified, but she couldn’t feel it anymore.
Perhaps this was what they meant by ‘there’s nothing more sorrow than a dead heart.’
Her heart was dead. How could she still feel the pain?
The car stopped outside the New World and Rex and the client met at an elegant teahouse inside.
The teahouse was decorated in an old style. The waitress wore a cheongsam and a standard smile on her face, but Wendy couldn’t feel their happiness at all.
Did the people here end up just like me, trapped within the prison cell?
Suddenly, Rex’s voice woke her up from her thoughts.
Wendy raised her head to look at the handsome face in front of her and her mind went completely blank. The words that were coming out of their mouth were stuck in her throat.
“Mr. Cullen, this is my wife.” Rex introduced Wendy to him.
Mr. Cullen stretched out his hand but was stopped by Rex. Rex pretended to grasp it and then gently pulled Wendy into her seat.
Wendy was currently on a mental journey and she was unaware of everything that was happening in the outside world.
Rex thought that she was shy, so he continued to talk with Mr. Cullen about business. Wendy didn’t say a word until the end.
When she walked out of the teahouse, the dazzling sunlight hit her on the head. After a dizzy spell, she fell directly to the ground.
“Wendy… Wendy… Wendy…”
In her dream, someone called her name, and his voice was clear and powerful. It was the man she used to love the most, and he seemed to be calling her.
Tears had welled up in Wendy’s eyes at some point. Rex grabbed the doctor by the collar and asked, “Why hasn’t she woken up yet?”
The doctor was a little flustered and said, “Mrs. Gavyn doesn’t have any major problems. She’s just too tired and will wake up soon.”
“Water… water…”Wendy’s lips parted slightly and her mouth was extremely dry.
Upon hearing this, Rex immediately let go of the doctor, poured a glass of water, and helped her up.
The doctor took advantage of the gap and quickly escaped from the ward. Master Gavyn was too scary. Every time he came to the hospital, all of them had to follow him being on tenterhooks.
“Do you want more?”
