After divorce, Ex-wife Revealed Identities

Chapter 846

Chapter 846

So, she bought a pair of the cheapest gloves, only spending four dollars.

"Miss Vita," Sylvia shook her head as she looked at Vita's hands cuffed with cold handcuffs, a hint of

mockery in her eyes. "If you had even bought a five-dollar pair of gloves, you wouldn't have been

exposed so quickly."

"You..." Vita's face turned pale as paper and she stared at Sylvia with anger. "How do you know how

much my gloves cost?"

Her poverty and embarrassment seemed to be stripped bare in the sunlight for an instant, making her

feel more embarrassed than being caught.

Sylvia smiled beautifully. "I accidentally cracked your phone password earlier and checked your

shopping record."

She shook her own phone and pointed to Vita's phone on the table.

Just now when Vita was performing vigorously, Sylvia opened Vita's phone without noticing it. When

she saw that the gloves she bought were only eight cents with free shipping, she couldn't help but

laugh.

She wasn't someone who would mock others' economic conditions. Everyone has different family

situations; She wouldn't have any opinions on anyone's family situation or economic conditions.

She just simply thought that Vita was too ridiculous.

A female college student would definitely have a bright future if they studied hard. Even if it wasn't very

bright, they wouldn't worry about food or clothing; They could still have an income or job.

However, this woman chose to come to the Wright Family and try to marry Brayden in order to improve

her social status and economic situation through this shortcut method.

Not wanting to solve one's own problems through one's own efforts but wanting to change the current

situation through some crooked ways is despicable behavior for women.

She still hopes that all women can be self-reliant without relying on anyone else and become their best

Vita was taken away by force by police officers in distress; What she said didn't matter anymore at this

point

The atmosphere inside the hospital room became very heavy and quiet for a while.

In the end, Sylvia broke the silence, "I'll go find a doctor right away for dialysis."

Cody nodded, "Thank you, Sylvia."

She left the hospital room, and Cody let out a sigh as he glanced at Mrs. Wright lying on the bed with

her eyes tightly closed. "She had good intentions but ended up inviting trouble into our home. That's

why she's not recovering well in the hospital. I bet Vita brought her poison to continue harming her," he

said.

"Her goal was to blame Jenna for everything and force her out of our family, so she could take Jenna's

place. What a vicious woman! We treated her so well," Brayden said angrily.

"She's a backstabber," he added.

Jenna held his big hand to comfort him, feeling its warmth and dryness. "She has reaped what she

sowed already. Now we need to focus on curing Mrs. Wright and getting her better soon."

"Jenna, you've been through a lot lately," Brayden said as he squeezed Jenna's hand back tightly while

looking at her porcelain face with concern written all over his face.

"This woman has caused chaos in our home during this period of time and even made Mom sick like

this."

Cody shook his head helplessly, saying. "It really is inviting trouble into one's own house."

Jenna smiled slightly with red lips curved upwards. "I'm grateful that you all believe me, otherwise I

would probably be sitting in jail right now."

She felt lucky that she had met such good people like them; it must have been because she used up all

of her lifetime's worth of good luck just for them.

"A family should stick together." Cody showed some tenderness on his usually serious face when

speaking these words. "Jenna, although I am not around much normally due to my work commitments

but I always trust my child. Whether you are my daughter or daughter-in-law doesn't matter; we are still

family."

He rarely spoke such words which sounded somewhat awkward maybe because he was used to being

in charge or managing things strictly most times.

So when these words came out from him now, they seemed somewhat unnatural too, "When your

godmother gets better after recovery from illness, then we can discuss about planning your wedding

ceremony since Brayden is also grown-up enough now."

At this heartwarming moment it would have been perfect if Cody's wife were here instead; He could sit

beside silently agreeing occasionally only when necessary- But unfortunately...

His wife was still lying on the hospital bed!

Cody sighed again before continuing. "You're all great kids! Seeing how excellent you've become

makes me feel really proud..."

He didn't say anything more after that but instead gave off a faint smile before adding softly.

"However Franklin... you and Sylvia were responsible for Clark ending up behind bars initially too... And

now that Clark has escaped from prison recently... You two should be extra careful."

He changed the subject to something that worried him. "Mr. Wright, don't worry. I've been investigating

Clark's whereabouts, but he seems to have disappeared into thin air."

Cody's stern gaze swept over Brayden and landed on Franklin. "The doctor who died at the plastic

surgery hospital is likely related to him."

"What are you saying?" Franklin's face changed slightly.

Previously, a doctor at the plastic surgery hospital was suddenly killed, and public opinion pointed

towards Cody. They were trying to bring down Cody who had just taken office.

However, the Ritter family who manipulated public opinion probably didn't have any intention of

bringing down Cody anymore because they couldn't even protect themselves.

Mrs. Ritter's actions had long angered Franklin; that middle-aged woman always wanted to use the

power of the Ritter family to suppress Sylvia. How could he sit idly by?

Now that the Ritter family was preoccupied with their own problems, especially their Ritter Group

enterprise which was in chaos internally, Franklin only added fuel to fire on their existing problems and

let them self-destruct faster.

Sylvia quickly returned with a few nurses pushing Mrs. Wright into dialysis room.

She hurried along without paying attention much else as time passed slowly by until about an hour later

when Sylvia walked out of treatment room exhaustedly.

"How is it?" Cody looked hopefully at her.

"Dialysis can reduce toxins in blood and usually needs two or three times per week for effective

removal," Sylvia wiped sweat from her forehead before continuing. "Dialysis treatment can promptly

remove toxins from blood and increase efficiency of rescue efforts."

"So after a few more treatments, the toxin will be completely removed," she said confidently especially

now that they caught Vita as culprit which would speed up progress significantly.

"That's good news," said Cody repeatedly while adding. "These past few days not only has our home

been disturbed but my mind has also been unsettled."

Sylvia took a sip from water glass handed over by Franklin before speaking again. "Wright, your

methods are impressive! You directly sent police for investigation while no one was home; there must

be reasons why you're able hold such high position."

Cody waved his hand dismissively although his eyes flashed with coldness briefly. "I know her well

enough; she may have kind heart but she's not stupid nor foolish enough to eat anything wrongfully -

someone must be harming her."

"Vita's done, she committed a crime and I guess the school..." Brayden began, about to say what the

school would do with her.

But he was interrupted by Jasper's cool voice. "The school has already announced their decision."

He shook his phone and showed a tweet from Vita's school. "Our freshman student Vita has been

sentenced to prison for intentional injury and poisoning. The circumstances were extremely severe,

causing negative social impact. The following announcement is hereby released."

Attached was an image of the announcement with the school seal on it.

The punishment for Vita was immediate expulsion from the university.

"What a short-sighted fool," Franklin sneered but there was no joy in his smile.

Brayden also gnashed his teeth in anger. "My mom treated her so well, buying her clothes and even

sponsoring her education. Who knew she was such an ungrateful wretch? She even tried to seduce me

and wanted to marry me! Why did she have to harm my mom? Shouldn't she have been trying to

please my mom instead?"

"Because she wanted to get rid of me as a thorn in her side," Jenna glared at him irritably, feeling like

bait that attracted flies. "If Mr. Wright hadn't investigated thoroughly with the police and gotten concrete

evidence, I might have been in danger."

Because Vita had tried to frame Jenna for everything.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Wright had finished dialysis treatment but had been pushed back into bed again.

She lay quietly on the hospital bed while Cody checked his watch; it wasn't early anymore."I'll stay here

with Brayden," he said. "You guys can all go home now. There's no need for everyone else stay here."

"I'll stay though," Jenna shook her head indicating that she didn't want leave alone."It gets pretty boring

being alone at home."

Brayden held onto Jenna's hand as he looked towards Cody. "Dad, you should go home too. I'll be here

with Jenna. You've stayed here long enough. It's time you got some rest."

Cody opened his mouth readying himself for refusal when Franklin spoke up instead. "Mr. Wright, just

go. I'll take you."

Once they all left, the hospital room became quiet. Brayden held onto Jenna's hand, his dark eyes

moved by how beautiful yet delicate-looking this girl before him really was. "I'm sorry you went through

all this," he said softly

"It doesn't matter," Jenna smiled sweetly. "As long as Mrs. Wright recovers quickly, I don't mind being

wrongly accused."

Unable to resist any longer, Bryaden gently pecked at her lips. Jenna blushed, pushing him away

slightly. Although Mrs. Wright still lay unconscious, she couldn't help feeling uneasy about their

closeness.

"What are you shy about?" Brayden's lips curved, his eyes filled with laughter.

Jenna's face flushed. She turned her head away from him, too embarrassed to look at him, but her

heart was filled with sweetness.

Suddenly, Mrs. Wright on the sickbed coughed twice.

Brayden quickly stood up and nervously looked at Mrs. Wright. He softly called out to her, "Mom, how

are you? Are you awake?"
