Chapter 183
Chapter 183 Captivity Alice
My phone's vibration woke me up. I got used to reaching out for it as quick as possible, avoiding to wake Gideon up. This time I came to sleep alone, so I was surprised to see him next to me, sleeping soundly. I moved closer a bit, but I couldn't smell alcohol on him. I wondered how long he was out last night, as when he said he would stay I was pretty sure he was offended and he was going to pay the favour back to me by getting drunk and by doing something that makes me angry. But he didn't
I sighed, and I left the bed quietly. After I got ready. I tiptoed out of the room. I really wanted to know what happened last night to him. I could think that he realised he was wrong, and he was ruining my happiest days of my life by being offended because I agreed to perform with Lucas even it I knew he hated him.NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
I stepped into the lift. Even if I loved him to the moon and back, I decided I would not let him ruin my best days because he was pouting about something he did not like me to do.
I reached the ground floor without a stop. I stepped out and walked to the reception. They called me a taxi, I didn't even need to tell them what I wanted. They knew me by now. I did the same routine since we arrived at the hotel. They said the same driver would pick me up soon.
I walked out, then I stood at the entrance, waiting. It was cold and dark, but still it was so pleasant to be out. I did not need to wait too long. The familiar car arrived, then I sat in. I knew the way well by now, and 1 frowned when the driver took a turn that he shouldn't. I wondered if the receptionist told him the right destination.
"Excuse me, I'm going to the same place as usual"
"I know, m
madam, they had an accident on the main road this morning. It is all blocked by the police. This way is shorter." He answered.
I leaned back. Actually, he knew better; I thought. I was about to ask him again when he stopped at a red lamp. Taking my phone out, I checked the time. I sighed, then I looked in the mirror to realize the driver was watching me. "Don't worry, madam, we aren't far away."
"It is just... They are waiting for me already. I don't want to keep them waiting
"It will take a a few minutes." He said, then the light changed to green.
After I put my phone back into my bag, I leaned back and I closed my eyes. Yesterday Gideon was angry with me. Today Lucas will scold me for being late. What else? I asked myself.
Soon, we stopped again at a red light, but I did not even sigh. I felt angry, but as I could not help it, I did nothing. I thought about I would walk instead, but I did not know the directions and I did not want to get lost.
I closed my eyes back again, while I crossed my arms, and I was just waiting, when a noise made my eyes wide open, I saw someone to step next to the car, and I screamed when the car door opened on the other side. An Asian man sat in next to me. After he shut the door, I heard the central lock locking the car doors, and before I could do anything, the man covered my face and nose with a wet material, which made me fall asleep instantly.
When I opened my eyes, my vision was blurry, I laid on a hard, cold floor. It felt like a concrete stone floor. I felt a sharp pain in my head and I felt my stomach wanting to empty its contents as well. Feeling that I could not wait, I spun around to throw up. There was not much thing to come out, so that was just the stimulus which tortured me further. By my stomach exerted itself, the sharp pain in my head just strengthened. After I calmed it successfully, I searched for a tissue in my pocket, and I wiped my mouth. I felt like I couldn't move, but I clenched my teeth and I sat up, leaning against the wall.
I tried to focus on clearing my sight. After rubbing my eyes and blinking a few times, finally I could see clearer. I was in an empty, cold and wet room. It had a small, grilled window without glass. "My bag," I whispered, but looking around I had to realize whoever took me here made sure I have got no belongings with me. I was scared to death. First, I started to tremble, and I was about to cry and panic.
"Stop it, Alice." I whispered and tried to stop myself from trembling
I looked around, seeking a w
a way to escape. There was not a camera in any corners. That made me braver a little. My gaze moved to the window. The window's grille would not let me climb out, and even if it would, I did not know what was awaiting me outside. I saw a wooden door, but again, I did not know if that was secured by something or someone.
I stood up. First, I nearly fell, because my balance was not good, but there was one thing I knew: I could not just sit there awaiting wonder. I supported myself by touching the wall, but as it was wet, my hand slipped on it, and I fell on the floor again. A sigh of pain escaped my mouth when I arrived on

my knees. Remembering how many times I fell on the ice made me decide the ice felt softer than the concrete stone. It took me a great effort to stand up again, but this time I was more carefully held onto the wall. I walked to the door slowly, and I held the doorknob. I turned it slowly, and the door opened with a quiet click. My heart pounded so fast, I thought it would jump out of my chest. I was about to open it when the door slammed wide open, hitting my head badly. Losing my balance completely, I fell on the floor and I felt a warm liquid run down on my cheek. I checked what it was and when I saw my own blood, I started gasping. Now the sharp pain was not just in my head, but the wound at my temple tortured me as well. I pushed myself up onto my knees first, but I could only lift my head up slowly. I feared to look at the person who did this to me. And to know I was not alone made me tremble uncontrollably, but when I straightened up to see who I had to face, my worst nightmare, which I slowly forgot, came true.
"Charles?" I cried.
