Chapter 6 The NO.1 High School II

Chapter 6 The NO.1 High School II

The boy with tiny eyes goggled at Jasper and yelled, “You want to fight, don’t you? Go away! I don’t

have time to waste on you.”

“Don’t stare at me like that. Actually I’ve been wondering if you have ever opened your eyes!”

The boy was irritated. He hated people laughed at his tiny eyes. He was outraged, even a new student

dared to do so to him. He rolled up his sleeves, preparing to fight them. Anton came between them,

“Hey, lad. Sorry about that. He’s new here. We’ll park elsewhere.”

The boy ignored Anton. He pushed him away, “What? You think I’m fine with that? Piss off. You fatty,

I’m going to beat you!”

Jasper could feel his rage burning inside him. He hated to see someone insult Anton and strangers to

call himself fatty. This boy unluckily hit both points. Jasper did not say anything, but came in front of the

boy and slapped him hard. The boy was driven back by his power, seeing stars dancing before his

eyes.

“Fuck you! How dare you hit me!”

“No. I just want to teach you a lesson,” Jasper said. He kicked the boy on the belly, making him unable

to stand and had to sit on the ground. Jasper stepped forward, kicking the boy hard.

The slim boy wanted to help his partner, but he was stopped by Bruce. Bruce looked around at Anton.

Seeing Anton was smiling, Bruce knew what to do. He said to the new boys, “Bros, come to warm

yourself up!”

These boys were no weak ones. They hadn’t taken any action just now since Anton didn’t say a word.

Now that with Bruce’s order, they surrounded the lanky boy, smirking. One of them said, “I’ll go first!”

He kicked the boy’s leg, so he couldn’t stand still.

“Stay like that!” Another man grabbed the lanky boy’s hair and dragged it down. The boy felt a sharp

pain on his scalp and bent down. Other boys swarmed forward and beat him.

At that time, a teacher-like man walked in with his bike. Everyone stopped. They were still afraid of

teachers since they had just graduated from middle school. However, that man pretended not to have

seen them, locked his bike, and strode away.

Jasper was puzzled. He asked Bruce, “Is he a teacher? Why didn’t he say a word?” Bruce shook his

head, “God knows. This stupid school is quite weird!” Everyone nodded.

Anton looked at the two boys squirming on the ground, “That’s enough. Let’s go!” They followed Anton

and walked to a much bigger parking lot which was far away from the former one. They locked their

bike and came to the playground. There were now many students. Jasper murmured, “Quite a lot of

students go to his school!”

The students stood in groups on the playground. Except for the girls, most of them had a cigarette in

their hands. Anton thought most of the young hooligans gathered here. He felt excited about it because

he loved challenges. What he was thinking was to defeat them.

Anton and his people stood in the front. His boys were also gathering there. After a little while, there

were around forty of them. Anton said to Jasper, “Jasper, go and look for the rest of our boys.” Jasper

nodded, but he just stood there and yelled, “Those who follow Boss Williams! Come here!” His voice

could be heard all over the playground. Bruce next to Jasper felt a pain in his eardrum. He kicked

Jasper’s ass, “Fuck! Boss told you to look for them, not to yell here! You’re making me deaf! “

Jasper grinned and said proudly, “How’s my voice? It really kills, doesn’t it? I think I should be a tenor.”

There came a clatter behind. Jasper’s yell worked. Many of their boys ran to them.

However, several curses sounded nearby, “Who the hell was that? Shut up!” “Who yells like a ghost?”

Hearing this, Jasper went pink. He shouted angrily, “Hey, assholes! I did it! Come to me if you have the

guts!”

Anton waved to give his boys a sign. They all got it, leaving Jasper alone. Anton didn’t expect to make

trouble, but his agitation changed his mind. He didn’t stop Jasper because he also wanted to show off

his power in front of the new students.

Some angry teenagers came to surround Jasper. A student in blue said, “Fuck! It was you, right?”

Jasper screened him, curled his lips and said, “You’re not qualified. Go away!”

The boy in blue was in a towering rage, ‘This guy’s as fat as a pig himself. How dare he say I’m not

qualified?’ He was trying to punch Jasper directly, but Jasper grasped his arm immediately. He slapped

the boy with the other hand, which was so powerful that the boy was pushed down on the ground.

Jasper was quite fractious. He had been a helpful assistant of Anton as well as an experienced fighter.

Jasper looked around and yelled, “Who’s next. Be a man! Don’t be a coward! Come on!”

Jasper’s words irritated the groups nearby. Around seven people came forth to surround Jasper.

“What? Want a gang fight? Good! Let’s do it!” Jasper’s face looked twisted and hideous, scaring his

enemy. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

They considered Jasper could not win, since he was all alone. So they concealed their fear and went

for Jasper, fighting in a huddle. Soon several people had scratches and blood on their faces. Anton

nodded at Bruce. Bruce dashed forward, grabbed the collar of one, lifted him up, and punched him

hard on the belly. The boy groaned and curled up. Bruce threw him away with his might and grabbed

another one.

Bruce and Jasper flattened these boys. Those who tried to escape were blocked by Anton’s fellows,

and they all kicked them hard. Seeing those boys all lying on the ground, Anton motioned his boys to

stop. Jasper wiped the blood on his mouth and grinned, “What a great fight! Anyone? Come on! Ha,

ha!”

Students nearby all lowered their heads. They were scared when they glanced at the seven boys’

bloody faces. Jasper suddenly got worried, because he remembered Anton had said that they shouldn’t

make any trouble too early. He thought it was doomed, but when he looked back at Anton and saw him

smiling at him, he felt relieved. He straightened up and yelled again, “I know some of you are

discontent, but do you know who we are? Our head is Boss Williams from No.2 Middle School! Think

twice if you want to fight against us!”

Some of the students muttered. They all heard of Anton Williams, a new bully of No.2 Middle School

who had attempted to build up a gang nearby. At that moment, the school’s speaker sounded, “All new

students assemble in the playground. Class sorting is beginning…” They stopped chatting and lined up.

Those on the ground were helped up by their friends and stood aside.

A few minutes later, several teachers walked out from the school building. The leader was a bald man

in his 50s, holding a small speaker in his hand. He stepped on the platform in the front of the

playground and spoke, “Hello, testing…Testing…” He was pleased with his sound, giving out a cough,

and said, “Hello, my fellow students. Er… I’m your headmaster. Well, here I welcome all of you to our

school on behalf of the entire faculty! Er…Er… Our school has a long history…” He gave a very long

and dull speech, most of which was about the history of the school and a small part of which was the

school’s prospect. The rest was full of discourse markers. Finally he said, “Now, er, our dean would like

to say something. Let’s welcome him!”

There was a scattering of applaud. Jasper kept swaying, feeling extremely sleepy. Bruce pinched his

thigh. Jasper nearly jumped to his feet, feeling awakened.

The dean took the speaker, “Hello, hello. Testing…”

Anton was speechless, ‘How on earth did these people take up their positions?’ The Dean tested the

speaker for half a minute and started his speech, “Good morning, dear students! I’m the dean of our

school. You may call me Mr. Morris. If you have any questions in the future, do not be afraid to ask me.

Our headmaster has introduced the history of our school. I would like to say a few more words…”

Some students kept cracking their knuckles down the platform.

Jasper pulled Anton’s sleeve and whispered, “Boss, I feel like killing someone!”

Anton was also speechless, trying hard to prevent himself from killing someone as well.

“So, you should all be proud of yourself for studying here. Now, let the sorting begin!” The dean finally

said something that pleased everyone. A big applause sounded. The dean thanked everyone before

handing the speaker back to the headmaster.

The result of the sorting was that Anton, Jasper and several of their boys sorted to Class Six, but Bruce

was placed in Class Three, which upset him. There were many students in their grade, so they were

grouped into eight classes, each of which contained over sixty students. Anton’s men were dispersed in

every class. Their head teachers led them back to their classrooms and arranged their seats according

to their height and size. Anton’s head teacher was a short man in his 40s with a pair of glasses, but

Anton somehow didn’t like him a lot.

Anton’s seat was in the middle of the classroom, and his desk mate was an outgoing girl. Just as Anton

sat down, she reached out her hand, “Hello, I’m Lucy. Lucy Smith.” Anton felt a bit surprised, but he

shook her hand immediately, “Hello, I’m Anton Williams!” Anton looked at Lucy, who looked quite

adorable with big eyes and long eyelashes, which looked like two little fans when she blinked.

“Anton Williams? I seemed to have heard it somewhere!” Lucy blinked, but couldn’t recall. She asked

Anton in a puzzle, “Do you know anyone from No.11 Middle School?” Anton shook his head with a

smile.

Jasper sat right in front of Anton. He turned around to watch Anton from time to time with jealousy and

envy in his eye. Anton noticed it and patted Jasper’s in the back of his head, “Jasper, why do you keep

looking at me?”

Jasper pulled a long face, twitched his mouth while looking at the girl next to him, and held Anton’s

hand, pretending to be sad, “Boss, I’m not as lucky as you are!” His weird expression made Lucy

chuckle.

Anton turned to look at Jasper’s desk mate, who also turned around when she heard laughter from

behind. Seeing her face, Anton understood Jasper immediately. He nodded and tried to look solemn, “I

used to think you look very ‘patriotic’, but I’ve never expected to see someone more ‘patriotic’ than you.

You will get along very well.” It took Jasper by surprise, for he didn’t expect Anton to tell jokes like that,

and he murmured something to himself. Actually, since Anton got to know Jasper, Bruce and Carl, he

had become more sociable, but he himself didn’t notice that.

Lucy pulled Anton’s sleeves and asked him what did being “patriotic” mean.

Anton smirked and replied in a low voice so that the girl in front of them couldn’t hear, “Say in a war

against another country, one’s face was so ugly that he or she can scare the enemy away. Don’t you

think that person is very ‘patriotic’?”

Lucy rolled her eyes, “You’re so mean, speaking so ill of a girl!” “Ha, ha. Just a joke!” Anton said. “Oh,

your conversation’s so interesting!” Jasper pretended to be sad and heaved a long sigh when he heard

their laughter. “What a pity. I’m such a handsome boy. “Jasper turned to look at his desk mate, “I

happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

At that moment, their teacher stepped onto the platform and knocked on the teacher’s desk, “Silence!

Silence!” The classroom went quiet. The teacher was satisfied with it, nodded his head, and said, “Now,

I would like to introduce myself!” He took chalk to scribble his name on the wooden blackboard and

then clicked it, “This is my name!”

One student couldn’t read his name. So he stood up and asked, “Sir, I don’t recognize these words.

Can you read it out?”

The teacher got annoyed. He threw the chalk to the student, hitting his head, “You fool! Did you really

graduate from middle school? Why can’t you even read my name? Students this year are worrying!”

Seeing that the student’s face went pink, the teacher paused a second and said, “I’m telling you. These

words read ‘Lawrence Thompson’!”

Jasper turned around to whisper at Anton, “Damn! This school sucks! Even teachers insult students!

Look at him, having such a disgusting face.”

Anton snorted, “These people are not rare. They can be found even outside this school!”

“Hey! What are you two talking about?” The teacher stared at Anton and Jasper. Jasper turned his

head around and tried to keep silent.

The teacher held up a paper and said loudly, “I’m going to call the roll. Put up your hand and say ‘yes’

when you’re called. Now. Terence Fisher.”

“Yes!”

“Andy Woods!”

“Yes!”

“Jasper Smith”

“Yes.” Jasper slightly put up his hand and gave a lazy reply. The teacher casted an unfriendly look at

him and continued, “Anton Williams…” He paused when he read this name, and sneered, “What a

peculiar name. I remember a bandit head was also called Anton Williams many years ago!” Jasper was

outraged. He was prepared to rise, but was prevented by Anton.

The teacher ignored the fierce look on a dozen of students’ faces and continued, “Don’t know how your

parents name you!”

Anton stood up slowly, “Sir, it’s very rude to insult one’s name. Don’t know if your parents have told you

this.”
