Chapter 262 Enemies Are Destined To Meet
After getting Jean's approval, as door opened firmly, a young face popped up from behind it.
"Moore…" Immediately Jean sat up on bed as she was surprised to see Moore walk towards her. She This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
was not at all expecting that Moore would come to visit her.
Though after she woke up, she found out that she and Moore were in the same hospital, she didn't
expect that Moore would also know the same.
Wasn't he supposed to stay in bed for recovery?
"This morning when I came out to stretch my legs, I saw that you were also sent to this hospital by your
colleagues. So, I thought why I should be waiting to meet you when you are already here. So I came
over to check on you after they were gone." Moore walked to Jean's bedside and explained it to her
smilingly.
"Please sit down." Jean said to Moore calmly while she smiled wryly. "I have no problem at all. They
are making a fuss about nothing."
"You don't know. When they sent you here, you had already passed out. Your state was very critical.
Everyone who saw you was tensed to see you in an unconscious state with your body appearing so
frigid. Even now, you look pale and weak. As if all of your energy is drained away from you. Jean, you
should take care of yourself. Your health doesn't look good. At your age, you should be running and
exercising, not lying on the bed I haven't seen any girl as bony and weak as you." Moore looked
serious and tensed with concern. His body language was also rigid as if he was experiencing stress.
Hearing his words, Jean raised her own hands to touch her cheeks. Indeed, the cheeks were hollow.
There was kinda sunken feeling in them. She took a deep breath in a feeble way and said with
bitterness, "I know. I will stay in the hospital and will keep you company here and I will also try to follow
all the instructions doctors are going to give me."
"That is right, good girl." Moore showed a satisfied expression and somewhat started to look relieved.
Before arriving here, Moore had gone to see doctors to check on Jean's status. That was why he knew
so much about her health condition. And he thoroughly grilled her reports because he wanted her to be
well as soon as possible.
He was shocked. A young girl like her shouldn't be so weak. She should be healthy and physically fit.
He had prepared a full lecture to give it to her, if she wouldn't have decided to rehabilitate in the
hospital, as she was not at all in fine state to stay outside.
He would have done anything necessary that a friend should do, regardless of whether she would have
listened or not.
However, it was apparent that the friends who had sent her in, had already persuaded her. Otherwise
she would have stayed outside and her condition would have worsen with time.
Moore felt quite relaxed and was having peace of mind after having discussion with Jean.
"Have you had your breakfast? Do you want to join me?"
Until now, Jean had already accepted the reality as things had come to this point, that she had to get
admitted into the hospital due to her ill health.
So rather than living in desolation and sadness, she should take care of herself and hide herself from
all those things happening outside the hospital. She should keep herself away from all the negativity
happening in the world.
As long as she could keep her heart in peace, she shouldn't care about what the others were fussing
about.
Right! If she couldn't take care of her own health, what else she could do? Her health should be her
first priority in life right now. The rest of the things can wait for other time.
After having these thoughts, Jean put away all her sorrow and regret, and asked Moore with an eased-
up smile.
"Not yet. Let's go to have a breakfast. I am also hungry." Since Jean invited him to the breakfast, Moore
nodded to agree without hesitation as he himself was a little bit hungry.
Exhausted and tired, Jean moved out of the bed, wore her shoes along with her jacket and then with
Moore, she headed to the cafeteria of the hospital.
Last night, she felt very restless and disturbed, as a result, she was grieving and now her body had
turned numb. All that distress had used up all of her energy and hence she was feeling all worn out.
After she thought about it for a moment, she could hear her stomach making all those noises. Now it
occurred to her that she could eat a whole horse by herself.
On reaching the cafeteria, they got some porridge, a few slices of bread, cheerios and pickles for
themselves to eat. Jean was eager to consume all her food.
As soon as they sat down on the table, Jean started to gorge on her food with great appetite.
Moore was not having such good appetite, though he was no longer experiencing the pains as serious
as before. If he would be having those pains right now, he wouldn't be able to eat anything at all.
He had stayed in the hospital for a long duration and because of that, his body was in a great need of
exercise, thus, causing loss in his appetite. Plus he was kept on IV of nutrition fluid. His body had
already got all the energy he needed.
However, seeing Jean enjoying her food so much, he seemed to have better appetite too and started
eating his remaining food with zest.
After Jean gobbled two portions of porridge, two pieces of bread and some cheerios, she put down the
bowl with satisfaction and even gave a burp.
Moore was astounded to find that such a skinny and weak girl like Jean could eat so much. He didn't
know she was so much craving for food at that time.
In contrast, he had just finished half a bowl of porridge and a small piece of bread. His hunger was too
little in comparison to her.
After Jean had a burp, she was a little embarrassed and meekly she smiled to Moore.
"Let's go from here." Moore said to Jean while standing up from the table.
Jean nodded in agreement and the two of them headed outside the cafeteria.
"I will have to be on IV after getting back from here. So I can't stay with you for now. I will be back as
soon as I will get free from there" Moore sounded like a big brother, all serious, responsible and
attentive to the details. "The nurses will start bustling around at eight o'clock. If you feel uncomfortable
with your body, or any other trouble, don't forget to consult the doctor."
"I know and would surely do that. You'd better get back to your own ward now." Jean nodded. "We can
have lunch together."
"Okay." Moore nodded, today, he was feeling there was something strange with Jean. She was
behaving differently from her regular self. Even so, he didn't ask her anything about it. He just turned
around and started moving towards his own room.
Staring at the disappearing figure of Moore, Jean stayed stagnant in the same position for few
moments. After realizing that, she turned back to march towards her own room.
If they both were not needing to get IV in different rooms, Jean wouldn't like to be all alone by herself.
She wanted Moore to stay with her, to take her mind off her restlessness.
She was afraid that if she was left alone by herself, all the toughness that she tried to rally in front of
others would fall apart. She needed to stay away from her worries, which were eating her from within.
Today, it was bold enough for her to ask Moore to have breakfast with her.
Jean sighed and with her head bowed down, feeling powerless, she strolled slowly in the hallway which
leads towards her room.
She was just at the end of the corridor, when she heard a mocking voice. "Who is this? Wearing
patient's clothes and wondering around in the hospital, hitting on other man on breakfast. Jean, do you
think Zed is dead? Or the notable Mrs. Qi has been abandoned by Mr. Qi?"
Jean turned abruptly and saw that Shirley was walking this way with a mocking expression on her face.
She scowled in her mind, "Enemies are destined to meet."
And then she raised her brows and stared at her harshly while giving a sneer. "You are dying to get me
abandoned by Zed so that you could try your chance to be Mrs. Qi?"
"Jean, whatever happens, we are still sisters. You know the status of our family. I am here out of my
goodwill to talk sense into you. Don't be so ungrateful to what you are blessed with. If you keep acting
so pretentious, you will lose everything sooner or later. Oh, no, my mistake. Now, all you have is only
illusion. You don't have anything! So, before the illusion goes away, you'd better enjoy every single
moment!"
Illusion? ?
On hearing all this, Jean squinted and stared at Shirley coldly. She snapped, "What nonsense are you
talking about?"
"Nonsense?" Suddenly Shirley smirked with twisted lips and looked at Jean spitefully. "Don't bother to
cover it up. Your video has been forwarded and shared to everyone. I didn't know that you could be so
popular one day…"
"Shirley, shut your mouth up." Jean had taken great effort in convincing herself not to think about this
matter. Now that, Shirley had mentioned it again. Jean's heart twitched violently and she felt that her
head had started spinning badly.
"What? You let the video to be circulated online, and you do not want me to talk about it? To be honest,
I am curious about who the two men are. And what I am even more curious about is, why the meek and
obedient Jean would date some other man behind Zed's back…"
"You shut up!" Jean couldn't stand it anymore and in agitation and anger, she raised her right hand to
slap the conceited face of Shirley.
On listening all the things Shirley had said, Jean's reaction was natural for a person. But her hand was
caught by Shirley mid-air.
"You are just a sick kitten. Who do you think is afraid of you?"
