Chapter 301 I Won't Mind Your Business Any More
Chapter 301 I Won't Mind Your Business Any More
Jean was overwhelmed by feelings of guilt. Although she didn't know anything about Moore's past,
everything about his personality pointed towards the fact that he has never eaten in a canteen. The
way he swallowed his food made it too obvious.
Jean walked towards Moore with a tray full of food in her hand.
Moore felt someone's presence near him. Without lifting his head, he knew who it really was.
He was hesitating to lift his head up and talk to Jean.
It seemed that Jean was sad and as she made her way towards Moore, she smiled. Her smile showed
her sadness. Moore was really mad at her.
"Are you really not going to talk to me?" Jean sat opposite to Moore. She looked at him and asked.
Moore did not reply and continued eating his food. He was really not in the mood to talk to Jean.
"Moore..." sighed Jean,"You should know what I have been thinking about. I refused your offer because
I don't want you to get in any kind of trouble. You should know that I can take care of myself."
"Really? Can you really take care of yourself?" Moore finally spoke something. He looked at Jean and
sneered,"Is that how you take care of yourself? Jean, stop hiding anything from me, I know what is on
your mind. Are you afraid of any misunderstanding between you and Zed as you move to my house?"
"No, it has nothing to do with him." Jean showed a difference in tone by the mention of Zed's name.
She was not expecting Moore to bring up his name in their conversation and as he did, she was quite
unhappy about it.
"Are you sure that's the truth?" Moore eyed her doubtfully and asked again.
"Yes, it really has nothing to do with him." Jean nodded affirmatively.
"Right, if that is the case, then you have to prove it." Moore stared at Jean and nodded.
"How am I supposed to prove it?" Jean was stunned. She was confused by these sudden questions.
"I've contacted a company and as soon as I will get discharged from the hospital, I will have to go
straight to the office. I will have to report there. They have also arranged something for my
accommodation. This will be very convenient for me and my work. If you really think that it is not the
misunderstanding that you are worried about then I personally think that you should move in."
Moore asked as he paid attention to every detail on Jean's face.
"What are you talking about?" Jean's eyes widened with shock. She stared at Moore for a little too long
before she said angrily,"Moore, what is wrong with you? You have not yet recovered from your injuries.
How could you go out looking for a job? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
"There is nothing else that I can do. You are too stubborn to let me take care of you. Then that is all I
can do. Jean, I really don't think that it's safe for you to live by yourself, all alone in this cruel world."
Moore sighed and explained.
Although Jean sat quietly in front of Moore, every voice inside of her was screaming to come out.
She knew that Moore cared immensely for her, even if he didn't make it too obvious.
He was trying to convince her to move to his house because he was really worried about her. No
matter how he did it but at least he was trying.
Jean had no one to rely on and there had been much gossip about her. Everyone knew that she was
married. If she was caught living all aone, it would cause her more trouble. But living in Moore's house
would be more convenient for her.
The truth was that at some point in time, she had thought about it but she was hesitating just because
she didn't want to worry anyone. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
"If you have to move out, then you will only go to my house and nowhere else." Moore looked at Jean
sincerely and continued,"I assure you that you will be the only one living in my house. There would be
no one to bother you."
After hearing that, Jean was so moved that she didn't know what to say anymore.
"Okay!" Jean nodded and looked at Moore. She had tears in her eyes. She finally said,"I owe you one,
I will return this favour someday."
"If you plan on doing this then forget what I just said. From now on, I will mind my own business and
will never force you to move into my house." The sudden change of his tone showed that he was angry.
He stared at Jean, coldly.
Moore got upset again. There was nothing that Jean could do but to force a smile so that Moore didn't
get mad at her again. "Okay, my bad! I shouldn't have said that. Moore, thank you so much and I really
mean it."
Hearing what Jean said, the expression on Moore's face softened.
"My lawyer will send me the key soon. I will get it by the time you are discharged from the hospital."
Moore explained.
"Okay!" Jean nodded and started eating her food.
Moore accomplished what he wanted to do. He started eating his food too.
"When you get discharged from the hospital, I will definitely cook for you." Jean said as regret took over
her. She started chewing her food slowly.
"That'll be great!" Moore nodded in agreement. "It'll be my pleasure to taste what you cook for me."
"Let me make one thing clear, you might not like the dishes I'll cook." Jean was actually embarrassed
and she said this out of modesty.
"I do not care about the taste. The most important thing for me is that it would be made by you." Moore
smiled,"If you find any trouble while cooking, I will always be there to help you."
"Can you cook?" Jean looked at Moore surprisingly.
"I can cook some simple Chinese dishes. Nothing special though." Jean could tell that Moore was
being modest.
Moore had been in H City for eight years. After that, he went abroad. He obviously remembered some
of the Chinese dishes.
But he couldn't remember too much...
Moore stopped himself from thinking any further, the look on his face changed suddenly. He became
more depressed.
Jean didn't notice any change on Moore's face. When she heard that Moore can cook some Chinese
dishes, she became really curious and asked,"Moore, just now you told me that you can cook some
Chinese dishes so does that mean that you miss going back to your hometown? Is that the reason why
you are back here? Have it ever crossed your mind to look for your family or anybody that you might
know from your childhood?"
Jean said, out of kindness. She wanted Moore to feel better but as soon as the words were out of
Jean's mouth, she regretted them because Moore became more upset
"How can you talk while eating? Jean, I have told you countless times that I am an orphan. Where
should I go to find my parents when they died a very long time ago?"
Moore said. He was furious.
It was the first time Moore had treated her like that. All of this made Jean terrified.
Noticing Jean's reaction, Moore realized that he had gone beyond limits and he should have stopped a
long time ago. He regretted what he said.
In order to cover up his embarrassment, he coughed and said,"Sorry, it's just that I'm having a bad day.
Enjoy your meal, I'll be heading back."
he said while getting up. He picked up his food and walked out of the canteen.
Jean was confused. Her eyes trailed his every move until he was nowhere to be seen.
Moore was acting strange today. The fact that she did not want to move into his house was because
she wanted to stay low and not cause any trouble. She was the one who had to compromise in the end
because of the way he acted.
What was so wrong about her offering him, her help to find his parents? She was not accusing him of
something that he acted weirdly. Although the topic was a little sensitive, he shouldn't have acted this
way. 'Something is not right!'
Jean stood up as if in a hurry and ran in the direction where Moore had gone.
As Jean reached the corridor, she stopped abruptly. Her eyes went towards the corner of the corridor
and she was shocked to see what she was witnessing.
Moore was surrounded by several men. Everyone around him looked vengeful.
