Chapter 402 My Precious Wife
Chapter 402 My Precious Wife
"Jean…" Zed sighed when he saw her get angry again. "I promise you. I will keep some distance from
Jesse. And with other women, I will not speak to them at all. If I act this way, will you forgive me?"
"Will you really keep some distance from Jesse?"
Jean raised her head to check the extent of his sincerity and asked suspiciously.
Seeing Jean finally react, Zed felt delighted inside. He nodded immediately wanting to make use of this
golden opportunity. "Sure. I won't do anything that will make my lovely wife upset."
Jean wrinkled her nose and watched Zed with puzzlement. "Why did you change your mind? Don't you
always defend Jesse? Come clean with me. I am not an unreasonable woman…."
Jean stammered. Of course, she was referring to the incident where Jesse saved Zed.
Zed didn't know that she had already heard about that. He thought Jean didn't want to make it difficult
for him, so he was thrilled and grateful. "No, Jean. You are the only woman I want to be with. I will not
bother to give any other woman a look."
"Stop it. You are overdoing it," Jean replied wanting him to stop. Jean pulled an annoyed face again
and looked displeased. "Won't it be possible that some of your future business partners happen to be a
woman? What will you do then? And how about social events? Aren't nightclubs the favorite type of
place you guys opt for socializing? Zed, don't treat me like an idiot. I am not that easy to be fooled."
"Jean, it looks like you still don't trust me." Zed sighed after hearing her words. "You are right. It is not
possible to avoid women in social events or any other occasions. But since I promised you, I will
absolutely do that. Qi Group now has opened the market and is on track now. I don't have to manage in
the hands-on approach, otherwise why should I hire so many high-paid staff? From now on, my top
priority is to keep my precious wife company."
Jean heard Zed call her "my precious wife" and this melted her heart.
Detecting Jean's shyness, Zed knew she had already forgiven him. She hadn't said it with words but it
was evident to Zed from her face. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Thinking of this, excitement was bubbling in his heart. He hugged Jean with full strength and took the
chance to show his love. "Honey, I am hungry. We will go downstairs to get something to eat, okay?"
Seeing Zed's pleading expression, Jean's heart softened and she nodded in agreement.
She had basically eaten nothing because she didn't have time this morning. And later she had a fight
with Zed, so when Zelda came upstairs to ask her to go to eat, she wasn't in the mood for food. Hence
she was starving right now.
Hearing Zed mention food, she felt a gust of pain in her stomach.
"Okay." Jean tried to sound angry because she didn't want Zed to know she had forgiven him. Slowly,
she sat up and was about to get out of the bed.
"Don't move," Zed cried out hastily. Jean was startled and stopped her motion. With her heart beating
faster, she looked at Zed with puzzlement.
Zed put on an assuring smile as he hadn't intended to scare her. "I will carry you downstairs," he said
looking pleased with himself.
Jean's heart relaxed. She had thought something was wrong again, so she worried another problem
was about to come.
"Thanks, but I can walk myself." After saying this, Jean flushed and turned around.
"It is my pleasure. Jean, you won't deprive me of the pleasure, will you?" Zed watched her with
pleading eyes.
"You…" Jean was embarrassed suddenly and said,"There are other people in this house. It is not
decent to be carried downstairs."
"Don't worry. If they gossip about it, I will fire them immediately," Zed said with pride and bragged about
his power.
"You…" Jean watched Zed speechlessly. In Jean's eyes, Zed's actions looked weird.
First, he tried everything he could to please her so as to get her to forgive him.
And now he had asked her to let him carry her.
'What is wrong with him? Why does he have too many requests?
He knows I have forgiven him yet he is trying so hard.'
As Jean was lost in her thoughts, Zed took the chance to give her a princess hug. Immediately, he
carried her up and walked outside the door.
"You…" Taken off-guard, her face turned scarlet red. She hadn't expected he would do it without her
consent. "Put me down, please. It is embarrassing to be seen like this."
"Who will see us?" Zed asked laughingly as he was carrying her downstairs. "Relax, we are the only
people in this house. So nobody is going to see us. Please, let's enjoy."
Jean knew Zed was telling the truth. As he was walking on the stairs, she stretched her arms to wrap
around his neck and sighed purposely.
"What's wrong?" Zed heard her sigh and asked hastily.
"You tell me honestly. Where did you go two hours ago?" Jean was serious about this question. She
knew he had the tendency to dodge it. With her arms wrapped around Zed's neck, she stared at his
eyes, insisting on getting an answer.
Zed paused for a short while before he stammered,"No, nowhere." He didn't dare to meet her gaze.
"You are acting very weirdly. I doubt that something is wrong. Zed, didn't you say you wouldn't keep
anything from me anymore?" Jean became unpleased by his silence.
"I…" Zed became tongue-tied. He sighed and realized he had no choice but to open up to Jean. "Okay.
I will come clean to you. After you left, I lost my mind again and I went to see Moore."
"What? Why did you go to see Moore?" Jean was shocked hearing about it. Then she realized
something and her face darkened. She glared at him with anger. "Put me down…"
"Jean, listen to me. I will explain it…" Zed smiled wryly.
"I don't want to listen." Jean covered her ears with her hands not wanting to hear any of his excuses.
"Zed, you have never really understood why I get angry. Now let me tell you this is the reason."
"What reason?" Zed was puzzled but he soon understood and his face showed some remorse.
Seeing Jean didn't want to listen to his explanation, Zed had no other option but to carry her all the way
to the dining room. On reaching, he sat her down on the chair.
Jean didn't want to see him at all. As soon as she found he was staring at her, she turned her face
away.
To get her attention, he put his hands on her cheeks and forced her to face to him.
Jean scowled at him to show her resentment.
"I know you are mad at me, but please let me finish." Zed heaved a long sigh before he continued.
"Yes, I was impetuous to go to see Moore. It was a reckless act and I did it without considering the
consequences. But it was only because you wanted to divorce me and I was hurt."
"So are your blaming me or looking for excuse to help yourself?" Jean queried him with rage.
"Nope. That is not my intention," Zed replied hurriedly. "I am just telling you that something you said
randomly might have great influence on my mood and lead to my wrong behavior."
Jean was startled but she still fixed her eyes on him with indignation. "Don't use me as an excuse, Zed.
If you want to make me believe that you can't stand what I said, then I won't buy it."
