Chapter 412 Do You Think We Should Save Her
Chapter 412 Do You Think We Should Save Her
'Even though I am also his biological daughter, the treatment that I receive is a lot different than what
Shirley receives now.
If I was kidnapped, Henry wouldn't even pay a cent to the kidnapper.'
As this thought crossed her mind, a sense of bitterness took over Jean.
She tried to suppress this feeling and watched Henry silently. She said,"So will you save her or not?"
"Do you think we should save her?" Henry avoided her question by asking another question. He knew
that if Jean realized what he was thinking about, she would get emotional.
"I will follow whatever you say. As you have said earlier, without your permission, I can't use a single
penny of Wen Group," Jean replied with a clear and sharp voice.
Henry became silent due to the awkward situation.
Jean watched him coldly.
He was so sure a minute ago that he wouldn't save Shirley.
After he heard what Jean said, he became determined to save his daughter.
Should she applaud herself for this incredible talent or should she give this up to the fatherly love of
Henry for Shirley?
Jean was so sick of Henry's presence that she immediately looked away. She sneered.
She knew very well that Henry needer her help to save Shirley. Whatever he was thinking, Jean would
only use the money from Wen Group and wouldn't compromise to borrow money from anyone else.
The situation had gotten awkward so Henry raised his eyes and glanced at Jean.
Noticing that she wasn't looking at him, he felt as if he had a huge weight on his heart.
His daughter was far smarter than he had imagined.
Just yesterday, he felt that his dead heart came to life as soon as he heard that Shirley had been
kidnapped.
He thought that after Joy heard the refusal from him, she would have turned to Jean for help.
He had been waiting since then for Jean to come running to him.
However, Jean was more clever than he had imagined. She had been waiting for Henry to come to her
for help.
Just a moment ago she was persuading him to do everything in order to save Shirley and he had
thought that Jean would go to any limit to save her own sister.
After all, her husband was the reputable Zed Qi.
One hundred million was nothing compared to the wealth he had.
But it was not the same for Wen Group. They were barely surviving these days.
If this amount was taken out from the Wen Group, it would prove to be a huge blow on their financial
records.
Wasn't she coming to Wen Group on behalf of her mother Yvette?
She surely couldn't see Wen Group get bankrupt, could she?
"Jean?" Henry said as he watched Jean,"Wen Group won't be able to give this much money. Maybe we
should give up the idea of getting back Shirley from those kidnappers? That girl has been disrespectful
since childhood. She has even bullied you a lot. As you said, she should suffer to learn her lesson."
Jean looked at Henry who was pretending to be in a dilemma and said the words he thought he never
would. She secretly smiled.
"All right. I'll do whatever you say," Jean sighed as she looked at Henry. "I know this amount is huge
and we can't afford to give this much money to the kidnappers. So I will ask Joy to tell the entire truth to
the kidnappers. Even if they kill her off, we must give up now because there is nothing that we can do."
"They will kill her?" Henry trembled. "No, no, this can't be it! Shirley is still young and we can't let her
die like this."
"What more can we do? Shirley is well aware of the financial conditions of Wen Group. She can't blame
us for not saving her." Jean sighed heavily.
"What is wrong with you?" Henry got angry as soon as he heard what Jean said,"You were trying to
convince me just a moment ago. And now you have changed your mind and don't want to save her
anymore?"
"It is not that I don't want to save her. It's just that we don't have the money to save her," Jean looked at
Henry and said. "Unless you are willing to give up Wen Group, we don't have money to save her."
"You!" Although he knew that Jean was telling the truth, he felt weird after hearing it from Jean,"If you
really want to save Shirley, we can think of other ways too. We might even borrow some money from
someone. We must think about saving Shirley first and then we can pay off the debt later on."
"That's a good idea! I don't mind it as long as you can borrow money from anyone," Jean replied with a
shrug.
"Jean, you must borrow the money from someone! This is a huge amount and I don't know anyone who
can help us out, except for Zed. What do you say?" Henry immediately said after he heard Jean's
words.
Jean stared at Henry for a long moment, and didn't say anything.
Henry felt that he was exposed and he couldn't find a place to hide from this embarrassment.
His face became pale and he stammered,"If this doesn't work out, then we will think of some other
solution."
"Father, it is not that I don't want to borrow the money from him. It's just that Zed will not lend such a
huge amount to us," Jean said as she calmed herself down. She pinned her eyes on Henry.
"How do you know Zed will not lend us money when you haven't even asked him yet?" Henry asked.
"If you don't believe me, you can call him yourself! I don't want you to think that I have been lying to
you," as she said that, she handed her phone to Henry.
Henry looked at her phone with hesitation. He started thinking whether he should call Zed or not. At last
he couldn't resist the temptation and reached out for her phone. He dialed Zed's number.
Jean was shocked and embarrassed at the same time. Her body became numb.
She had done so much for him, yet he was so stubborn to not believe his own daughter.
She wouldn't expect anything from him after this.
Henry, you got what you deserved!
Zed answered the call after a few seconds.
Henry's face lit up as he heard Zed's voice clearly,"Hello! Jean, didn't I tell you that I would be attending
a meeting right now and wouldn't be able to answer your call? If you are calling to persuade me to lend
you some money to save Shirley, you shouldn't waste your breath! I don't want to reject and embarrass
you again."
Henry was just about to say something but he didn't get the chance to. His entire body froze and he
stared at the phone, pale and numb.
As soon as she saw Henry's face, Jean sneered.
'You think you would be able to convince him to lend you some money if you ask him personally? Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Henry, you have always loved Shirley. How can you sit around and watch her die?
So this is what I have planned with Zed before. He would say the exact same things that he just did, if I
call him during this time.
Henry, is the money of Wen Group superior to Zed's money?
You'd better quit the idea of plotting against us. The person that needs to be saved is your daughter.
This has nothing to do with us!'
