Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 217

Chapter 217

Alicia and Frederick talked and giggled along the way before they got into the car. Although it was not a perfect day, it was not too bad either.

By the time they reached home, Alicia had already fallen asleep in the car.

This was the first time that Frederick was totally ignored by a woman. Apparently, Alicia didn't feel any pressure staying with Frederick either. Instead, she dozed off beside him. Looking at her, who was sitting on the shotgun, Frederick felt she was different from the others. It was truly comfortable being by her side.

After parking, Frederick carried her off the car. On their way to the door, Alicia was woken up by his movement.

"Urn... Hubby? We're home? Why didn't you wake me up?"

While rubbing her eyes, Frederick was about to put her down. Suddenly, she wrapped her hands tightly around his neck and said, "I'm not fully awake yet! Just hold me a little longer."

Alicia raised her tone while keeping her eyes shut tightly. Looking at her series of actions, Frederick couldn't help but chuckle.

"Sweetheart, are you sleep-talking?"

"Why is she so adorable? I'm just carrying her. What's so exciting about it? It's not like I never carried her before," Frederick thought.

"Yeah... And it is a serious one!" Alicia replied

She nodded enthusiastically and hugged Frederick tighter. She couldn't get enough of this moment.

Thus, Frederick carried her and made his way to the door. Upon putting her down at the door, Alicia felt contented and delightful.

Once Frederick returned to their room, his phone started to vibrate. He explained to Alicia that it was some emails on auction and bidding. Then, he went to the study room. Alicia could feel that it was some important business, therefore instead of bothering him, she went to the bathroom to take a shower herself.

Alicia was a little tired as she had been out for almost a day. After showering, she helped Frederick to prepare some clothes to change after his shower. Then, she went and reorganized the clothes they just bought.

Frederick saw Alicia combing the fur on those shoes they bought with a brush upon entering the room. Looking at Alicia, who was holding her treasured shoes, he felt liberated from all his troubles.

"Wow, you really love the shoes. Are you planning to sleep with them?" Frederick couldn't help but tease her.

"You're so mean for making fun of me! I want to clean it up before keeping them. Now go and take a bath! I've already prepared your clothes for you to change. It was a tiring day! I will be done with this soon," Alicia replied.

Picking up the nightdress he just bought, Frederick said to Alicia, "Well, it's not good to waste my money too. Remember to put on your new nightdress!"

Upon finishing his sentence, he turned and walked into the bathroom. Looking at the nightdress she was wearing, Alicia took a glance at the bag at the corner. Her face reddened immediately.

That skimpy nightdress? She would rather die than put it on!

She would not wear it even if it were for Frederick!

Gritting her teeth, Alicia pulled a face at the bathroom door. Later, she tidied up her shoes and put the packing bags into the wardrobe. The sound of water could be heard from the bathroom. Alicia wanted to wash her hands before going to bed. While waiting, she suddenly remembered something and reached for her phone in her bag.

Looking at the screen, there were six missed calls. Alicia was surprised by the number displayed.

"Why does this number seem so familiar? Is it Jeremy's number?" Alicia thought.

She had seen his number several times but she didn’t save it. Sometimes, she was afraid that she couldn't control herself!

But, why did he call her so many times?

It didn't make sense at all!

Looking at the call logs, the calls were all made within the last hour!

At that instant, Alicia was wondering, "What's happening?"

Suddenly, the phone rang again. It was the same number!

Could it be that she remembered the wrong number? Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

After a moment of hesitation, she still answered the call and said, "Hello?"

"Ally! I want to see you! I have something to tell you!"

The familiar voice with an eager tone was heard. It even sounded like a command. A while later, Alicia's started to get a little furious. "Pretty sure you call the wrong number."

What was wrong with him calling in the middle of the night? If Lindsay knew about this, surely she would come and bang at her door! Alicia didn't have time for this kind of drama!

When Alicia was about to hang up, Jeremy started to speak in an anxious tone, "Don't you wanna know why I did this to you?"

Hearing his words, Alicia stopped. She put the phone back to her ear and listened to what Jeremy was about to say.

"Don't you wanna know why I got close with you in the past? Why did I leave you at the wedding? Haven't you thought that I might have no choice but to do this? Ally, we've been together for so long. Can't you tell that my love for you is genuine? Can't you really feel it? Have you thought about why I came back to Casterwich City? Have you really forgotten everything we had in the past?"

Alicia grabbed her phone tighter and her heart started to ache. Of course, she wanted to know! Her father was still lying in the hospital but she didn't dare to mention him.

What if there really was something going on in the dark that Alicia and her mother didn't know about? What if they would never stop before achieving their goals? Wasn't it easy for them to kill a brain-dead patient silently?

After a short pause, Alicia asked in pain, "Why?"

"Let's meet! I will tell you everything. No matter what you want to know, I will tell you! Ally, I want to meet you so bad right now. Can we meet now, Ally?"

Obviously, Jeremy was not his usual self. Even his tone sounded abnormal that moment.

Although Alicia was curious about what Jeremy was about to tell her, the sound of the shower in the bathroom had stopped and caused Alicia to shudder unconsciously.

"I really want to know but I will not meet you! Not this time and never in the future! It's been three years. Knowing the truth or not, it no longer matters to me. After all, it’s over between you and me! Don't call me again!"

Upon finishing her words, Alicia immediately hung up. The call disrupted her mood.

However, her phone rang two seconds after she hung up.

This time, Alicia was confident that something was wrong with Jeremy. It was so unusual of him to do this!

The self-protection instinct she has cultivated for a long time made her shut down her phone intuitively. She couldn't meet him when he was not sane. Not to mention Frederick was still with her...

She must not let Jeremy ruin her life again. Even if she couldn't be with Frederick forever, she didn't want the reason for them to divorce to be Jeremy.

She would not make the same mistake for a second time. She would not give him another chance!

Alicia fisted her hands tightly while closing her eyes.

Moments later, a pair of warm arms were wrapped around her waist. A soft male voice could be heard.

"Why are you standing here? I thought you wanted to get an early rest?"
