Chapter 324
"You're so stubborn! Just admit it! You don't have to pay for it, anyway!"
"Yes! From yesterday till now, only you and Jennifer have gone in. If it wasn't you, are you implying that Jennifer made such a rookie mistake? Would she have done something so silly as turning on the machine without turning on the computer and doing a safety check, and even plugging in the wires wrongly?"
"Yeah! The machine has a safety mechanism! You must have not known that and pressed a random button, which caused the machine to go in the opposite direction at its maximum speed, destroying it in the process! This is a man-made operation error!"
"You're the only newcomer here! You must have been the one who broke it!"
"You don't usually work hard, but now that you've made a mistake, you're not willing to admit it! You must apologize! Write a report and apologize to Jennifer! You'll have to bear the fine on your own! Don't drag the department down!"
"How did you get in? What a troublemaker!
This high-precision machine is worth more than a million! Nothing like this has happened before! You must have caused it!"
"Admit it and apologize!"
Everyone in front of her was pointing their fingers at her. Although she was being surrounded, she didn't back down.
"Don't accuse me like that! I said I didn't do it. I just went in to get some documents! I didn't touch the machine! I have already clarified and explained it! You all are trying to put the blame on me! Don't think that just because I'm a newcomer that you can bully me! I will not take the blame! If you can provide the evidence, I'll resign and pay one million dollars! If you don't have evidence, Jennifer should apologize to me! Without evidence, both of us are suspects! How can you spread rumors and ruin my reputation? I didn't do it! Even if you fire me, I won't leave!"
Although she felt wronged, she didn't back down. Even if she was alone, her chin was held high.
She wouldn't admit to something that she hadn't done!
Even if she didn't want to stay, she would never leave like that. If she were to leave, she would do it in a righteous manner. If she was at fault, she would admit it! If not, no one could frame her!
"It's clear that you're guilty. You think we can't provide any evidence, right? I've been doing this for so many years. If it wasn't you, did I break the machine on purpose? The surveillance has shown that no one has entered the room except you!"
"You also went in there! Why can't it be you? I could say that you're trying to frame me! Unless you can provide solid evidence, if you continue to spread rumors and slander me, you'll have to apologize and clear my name!"
Both Alicia and Jennifer were not willing to give in at all!
"The company will pay for it. Why are you two arguing like this? Take a step back and write the report. Then it's settled."
"That's right! You're a newcomer. How can you be so arrogant?
"That's right! If you admit your mistake, the matter will be resolved!"
The people around them kept muttering, and most of them blamed Alicia for being ignorant. Alicia's sharp fingernails pierced into her palms as she felt wronged. However, she would not take the blame. Otherwise, she would be blamed for everything in the future! She was willing to lose her job rather than allow her reputation to be tainted!
Giselle looked at both of them and was furious. She shouted, "You should just admit it and this matter will be over!"
She was telling Alicia to give in. It was obvious that she was taking Jennifer's side.
No one came out to defend her. She had nothing to lose. If she wrote the report and took the blame, what would people think of her? Jennifer had been spreading rumors that she was a good-for-nothing. If she took the fall for this, it would confirm all the rumors about her.
Alicia gritted her teeth and remained firm.
"I didn't do it. I won't admit it! If you want me to take the blame, she needs to clear up my name. Otherwise, I won't admit it. I didn't break the machine!"
She didn't believe that they would really push the blame to her! It was unreasonable. She wasn't afraid to escalate the issue!
In an instant, Giselle and the Jennifer's faces changed. The situation once again fell into a stalemate.
Jennifer's face was distorted. She gritted her teeth and said, "Don't even think about it!
You're the one who broke it!"
If she were to write an apology letter, wouldn't she be admitting that it was her fault? At this moment, both of them would not give in.
Right at this moment, Frederick led a
bunch of senior level executives forward. He immediately saw Alicia being surrounded, her eyes red and pitiful. His face fell instantly. S
"What's going on?"
Everyone in the department was there. Had people from other departments come too? If a client were to see the scene, it would be embarrassing. Nobody had expected Frederick to be there. They immediately made way for him and tremulously stood aside. At that moment, Giselle, too, looked anxious.

Frederick's tone was frosty. "What's going on here?"
Obviously, he was angry!
Almost at the same time, Chet, who was next to him, frowned. The group of executives noticed his expression and all held their breath. Giselle's voice also began to quiver.
"Mr. Frederick, the new staff broke the machine and there's been a bit of an argument. We're handling it!"
Hearing that Giselle was putting the blame on her, Alicia was angered.
"I didn't do it. Don't you put the
blame on me! If you have any solid
evidence, I'll apologize, pay the
compensation and resign.
Otherwise, don't accuse me of
something I didn't do."
Looking at her, Frederick's heart ached badly. However, under this situation, he couldn't reveal their relationship.
He clenched his fists tightly and stared at Alicia for a few seconds. Everyone looked at Alicia, waiting for something to happen.
After all, she was just a newcomer.
Not only did she interrupt the
manager, she even talked to the CEO in such a bad manner. Everyone was waiting for Frederick to explode and drive her out!
Frederick didn't know what had happened. He didn't know if Alicia was being wronged or if she didn't know that she had made a mistake. He felt a little anxious and worried.
"Let's go over the whole thing again. What happened here?"
