Being Proposed to By a Blind CEO

Meeting an Ex-lover

Along the side of the Jakarta city highway that was filled with clean parks, Gifer was still running around just to stretch his legs and arms. Occasionally, he did exercise movements such as warm-up and other additional movements. Feeling that his body was getting tired, Gifer directed his cane to the supermarket on the side of the road while occasionally asking passersby. When he got there, Gifer was actually confused about what to buy, because he couldn’t see which foods he liked and which drinks he liked. He squatted down, choosing the food he liked.

“Ah, I forgot that I can’t see, so I can’t choose which food either. Hah, maybe a sandwitch would be good for my hungry stomach,” she monologued. She fumbled and caught a bun with peanut butter.

“I don’t think it’s this one, maybe the one next to it,” Then a girl approached him silently and placed the sandwitch next to the peanut bread. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Nahkan, right!” He screeched, then continued on his way to get some water from the supermarket refrigerator. Again, it was the girl who placed it within his reach.

“Shh, Vin! What are you doing?” Whispered Anggi who was already at the cashier, preparing to pay for everything she bought for breakfast this morning at the office. Yes, the two of them went to the supermarket and met up with Gifer who had chosen the food earlier. Feeling called by his best friend, Gifer ran closer to the cashier. After paying, they both walked to the bus stop to get to work.

“What were you doing earlier? We already chose the food, just pay, and suddenly you disappeared,” asked Anggi who was still surprised by her best friend’s increasingly strange behavior.

“Me? I met Gifer earlier.”

“Again?” Anggi asked surprised. How could Belvina meet that blind man every day? It was still a question mark for Anggi. Very impossible, right? Even though Gifer’s position was a former CEO, everything he bought must have been luxury and expensive items. But what is this? Why did he buy at a small supermarket? She thought.

“Well yes, I don’t know why I can meet him almost every day,” remembering that, Belvina also wondered why she could meet that man again even almost every day. Even though this Jakartal city is so vast, why only meet with him and him? Like there are no other men, she thought.

“You didn’t argue with him did you?”

“No, I was trying not to make a sound so that he wouldn’t find out that it was me who helped him. If he finds out, he’ll make trouble for me again.”

“Hahahha, yes, too, anyway,”

“Uh Gi, I actually feel sorry for him,”

“Why is that?”

“He can’t see, well maybe he’s still adjusting because he wasn’t born blind, but it’s hard to live a life without being able to see the world, you can only see with the eyes of your heart. I just feel sorry for her, that’s all. I’m afraid he’ll try to kill himself again like yesterday,” Belvina explained while occasionally looking back to see if Gifer had left the supermarket or not. Belvina looked down and looked forward again while walking towards the bus stop together with Anggi.

“Ah, that’s it. Yes, you’re right, maybe he’s having a hard day if he can’t see. But doesn’t life go on? Why didn’t he think that way? Instead he tried to kill himself, as if he didn’t accept what God gave him,”

“Well, that. That’s what made me argue with her yesterday, Gi. Eh, instead she antagonized me, how annoying. Instead of being happy to be helped, she’s angry,” Belvina’s irritation surfaced again when she remembered that.

“Hahaha, how come you met someone like that Vin,” Anggi shook her head in wonder at Belvina meeting a strange man like Gifer.

“I don’t know, and the strange thing is, I still feel sorry for him. Maybe if I hadn’t taken off my shoes and helped, he would have been angry at me again, plus if I opened my voice. She even recognized my voice,”

“Hahaha, never mind. Hearing your story made me think, are all Jakarta boys like Gifer? The one you said was super annoying? Hahahaha,” Anggi laughed at the thought.

“I’m serious, Gi. I don’t know, maybe not all Jakarta boys, Gi. Maybe there are also good ones and certainly not bitter,”

“Eh, the bus is here, let’s get on!” Anggi invited. And their conversation about Gifer was interrupted.

_

Gifer was still at the supermarket where he bought the food earlier. There was also a place to eat the food after purchase. Therefore, Gifer decided to go there and eat the food he bought. After eating, he left the supermarket and walked back to his apartment. But while on the way, Gifer accidentally ran into the girl he used to love with another man. Since Gifer couldn’t see, he was ignorant and kept walking straight ahead, but not the girl. Yes, that girl was Raya, Gifer’s ex-girlfriend. One voice of Raya managed to interrupt Gifer and made him stop his steps.

“How arrogant you are now, you blind man!” Teased Raya who was standing in front of Gifer along with her new partner.

Gifer smiled wryly and returned Raya’s sarcasm with no less annoyance.

“Let me be called arrogant by a snatcher, the important thing is not with other people who already know me well,”

“What did you say? A usurper? You’re just an idea depositor, all the business capital is from my father! How can you say I’m a snatcher? Hahaha, you don’t need to make up stories, Gifer Fernandez!”

“Still called a snatcher, Raya. You stole all my ideas just so the company could be yours. Oh, I’m getting suspicious, aren’t you the one who planned my accident last time?”

“What are you saying!” Raya, who had gotten carried away with her emotions, prepared to slap Gifer but the hand was immediately caught by him before landing on her smooth white cheek. He gripped the hand tightly until Raya no longer dared to resist him.

“How many times have you underestimated me? How many times have you lied to me? I know everything, even though we’ve been in love for years, you never really loved me, you just liked the idea I came up with for your father’s company!” Gifer snapped with emphasis and grasped Raya’s hand even more firmly.

“Akh, it hurts!”

“Let go of Raya’s hand!” The man next to Raya also spoke up. More precisely, it was Raya’s new lover.

“Oh whose voice is that Raya? How many days has it been since you broke up with me? And now you have a boyfriend again? You’re so great, Raya. I didn’t expect this. Congratulations, congratulations for taking everything I have. And here, you take this cheap girl! I don’t need her!” Gifer threw Raya’s hand away roughly.

“Don’t ever appear in front of me again, remember that carefully!” Gifer continued then went back to walking straight without listening to Raya’s screams which were overwhelmed by his emotions.

“Cih, who is he?”

“Never mind, sweetheart. Let’s go home.” Raya nodded, her lover turned his body to walk home.
