Betrayal At The Altar

Chapter 59

Chapter 59

“Please let me know if you get into any trouble. I’m not expecting anything in return,” David said in a husky and deep voice. It sounded so pleasant that it even gave her sparkling, pleasurable brain tingles.

The situation, in fact, wasn’t really as urgent as Mary had said.

Olivia claimed she was a victim just because few people saw her push Rachel toward the road then.

Aside from that, the onlookers mistook Olivia for an innocent person because they saw Rachel punish Olivia.

They believed they were punishing the wicked and protecting the weak, but the truth was that they had already become Olivia’s pawns.

Rachel hung up the call after a short conversation with David.

Then, she put down her phone and looked up at Mary, who gave her a mischievous smile. “Are you not going to explain?”

Her gaze made Rachel feel uneasy. “It’s not what you think,” she said, focusing on eating with her head lowered.

Mary took her face in her hands and fixed her eyes on Rachel, asking, “What was going on then?”

Rachel quickly looked up at her. Clearly, Mary was very intrigued. If Rachel did not explain herself, Mary would not let it go. “Anyway, it’s not what you think,” repeated Rachel.

“You’ll fall in love very soon, based on my years of experience,” Mary predicted as she leaned in to poke Rachel’s chest with her index finger. “Are you sure you don’t have any feelings for him?”

Upon hearing Mary’s question, Rachel’s eyes flickered.

No feelings for him at all?

Rachel was well aware that it was not really the case.

At the very least, she could feel her heart thump rhythmically when he said he would protect her no matter what happened.

When Mary noticed Rachel was lost in thought, she pursed her lips and could not help but remind her. “It looks like he could be a scumbag. Take caution. I’m afraid that you may fall for his guile.”

Rachel smiled and asked casually, “Do you think I will?”

Mary raised her eyebrows and picked up her glass with an expressive smile. “No one knows what the future holds.” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

They went to the underground parking lot after finishing eating.

“You just drank. Let me drive!” Rachel took the car key from Mary’s hand and headed straight toward the car.

Mary, who was a little liquored up, had no objections to it and walked behind her in a

laid-back manner.

Right at that moment, footsteps and curses could be heard next to them. “That vicious bitch is here.”

When Mary and Rachel looked over, they saw a swarm of people approaching them with various sticks in a fury.

Rachel frowned, and her delicate face darkened. “Get into the car!” she shouted, taking Mary’s hand.

Rachel thought those people would let them go when they saw her and Mary enter the car. But they didn’t, and to her astonishment, they actually smashed the vehicle with the sticks in their hands.

The new car was seriously damaged with thuds and bangs.

The crowd, however, still didn’t stop taking revenge on the two girls.

They even splattered various filthy things over the windshield.

A while later, they hastily packed their stuff and left before the parking lot security guards arrived.

The parking lot was in disarray as if there had been a storm earlier.

The terrifying scene shook Mary, but she quickly got over it and sobered up. She hurried out of the car to have a look at it.

As she noticed the filth on the windshield, she resisted the impulse to vomit and yelled in a fury, “Oh, my God! My dear poor car! I only purchased it just a few days ago. How could those jerks have done this to it? This is simply too much. I need to call the cops. If I can figure out who’s behind it….”

“I know who’s behind it.” Rachel stared at the smashed car, her face expressionless and

sullen.

Her voice was icy cold, sending shivers down one’s spine.
