Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 206

Chapter 206

Sofia’s POV

“You’re sure you don’t wanna go back to the house and get some rest?” Ryan asked as soon as we’ve

started to make our way towards the garden, and I had been panting way too loudly, coupled eith how I

was perspirating.

I turned my head around and gave him a pointed look before starting to speak. “Can you not? I’m going

to end up getting to the garden as it is, stop trying to convince me to go back to the house.” I said to

him and reached up to wipe some of the sweat off my forehead, puffing out a small breath right after

that.

“I didn’t say that because I wanted you to go back to the house, although that’s definitely one of the

reasons.” He said in response after a fleeting second and I turned my head around sharply to glare at

him, a move which made him chuckle a little.

It was the first time he was chuckling today since we’ve started to speak and I’ve got to admit that I do

miss that slightly relaxed part of him- although he never goes completely relaxed around me and I don’t

know why.

“I honestly said that because you also looked tired, you looked stressed and I don’t think walking

beneath the sun was going to be naming matters less worse for you.” He continued to speak and I Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

huffed out a small breath as I reached up and wiped off some off the sweat off my forehead with my

finger, and then cleaned the fingers against my shirt. Once I was done here, I was going to be going

back into the house and heading straight upstairs to take a cool shower.

“I’m fine… I’m just really stressed out, I guess?” I said in a quiet voice as we both walked slowly, with a

little bit of space between the both of us.

Ryan didn’t say a thing to that until we arrived at the said garden that was honestly further than I

thought. I didn’t think I could take any other step at the moment, seeing as my feet had started to feel

really wobbly like a Jelly. I took two steps deeper ikto the garden and collapsed into the grass, as I

dragged in deep breaths into my lungs as I panted hard, trying to catch my breath.

“Are you alright, ma’am?” I heard Ryan ask and I nodded my head up at him without blinking my eyes

open, as I sucked in more open mouthed breathed into my lungs. I lifted my hand and carded my

fingers through my hair, combing it off my clammy feeling skin and threw my head back in order to not

feel like a curtain was closing me up.

I slowly blinked my eyes open to see Ryan still staring at me in the same position he had been in a

couple of minutes ago.

“What?” I asked him slowly as I stared up at him and used my hand to shield my eyes from the sun.

“Did you hurt yourself, ma’am?” He asked and I blinked up confusingly, still not understanding what it

was that he meant.

“Huh?”

“Your throat… Did you fall

or something? What’s that mark?” He asked and I felt myself freeze up instantly, and I sat up instantly,

feeling color start to flood my cheeks in the next instant.

God, I was so stupid, how could I have forgotten about those damn marks? Those marks which I had

used my hair to conceal this morning.., how could I have forgotten them a few moments ago when I fell

into this grass and started to catch my breath.

I felt like slapping myself over the head at this very moment.

I watched as Ryan started to crouch down when I remained silent, and he stared pointedly at my

exposed throat before starting to speak.

“It looks really bad, doesn’t it hurt?” He started to ask in a low voice and reached forward to try to touch

the marks. I pulled away instantly, shaking my head a little at him as my cheeks heated up even more.

“Don’t touch it,” I said after a few seconds averted my gaze before continuing.

“It’s not um, it’s not what you think…” I trailed off at the end of the sentence and raised my head back

up to see him still staring at my throat and he started to speak in the next second as realization started

to dawn on him.

“Oh…”

I nodded my head once as shame like no other twisted in my guts, making my cheeks start to flame up

even hotter.

“I had no idea…” He started to say and I shook my head instantly, not wanting to make this more

awkward than it already was.

“No, no. It’s fine.” I breathed out and sighed out softly and I reached my hand out to him before

requesting. “Can I have the teddy back?” I said and he slid it into my arms without any sort of

questions. I was really uneasy after that small incident, even after Ryan had walked away and left me

to do my own thing.

For some weird reason, a part of me was twisting in a really heated way, and I most definitely didn’t

understand why all my thoughts were all mixing together this way, each one more unclear and

confusing than the previous, it was starting to make me feel a little bit overwhelmed.

I sucked in a deep breath and held it in for a few seconds before letting tne breath slid out of my mouth

slowly. I turned around the whole place to glance around the garden for the first time, after I was

already sure I already had a grip of my emotions. A felt my breath catch in my throat a little as I glanced

around the whole place, and it was oh so spacious and bigger than the one back at my parents house

in which my brother and I spent most our evenings in.

I smiled a little as some beautiful memories of my brother and I started to dance around my head as I

stared at each flower, noticing how neatly trimmed it was and how it was all doing fine. The sun wasn’t

shining really intensely anymore at the moment, which I was really grateful about at the moment. I

puffed out a small breath as I slowly pushed myself to my feet with the teddy placed on the nest grass.

I was still going to come here one particular evening, most definitely later this week, and then I was

going to make sure I walk around the rest of the compound by then.

For now, I was going to be making my way back to the house, the urge to shower and change out my

current clothes was so intense that I was reaching down and picking up my teddy after a couple of

moments, without bothering to call on Ryan as I started to make my way back to the house.

I wasn’t all that far from the garden when I heard quiet footsteps behind me, and I automatically knew

that it was Ryan. He moved forward to continue to walk beside me after a few seconds. After a while, I

paused and turned around to hold my teddy out to him silently, seeing as my hands had started to hurt

really bad, and my legs were still not all that strong.

Ryan received the teddy wordlessly and we started to make our way back to the house, and in no time,

I was at the house, panting a little as I tried to catch my breath.

After this little bit of adventure, I didn’t think I was going to be going back to the garden anytime soon.

I moved my weight from foot to foot and winced a little as a pang of pain shot into my left sole in that

particular moment.

I made my way into the house along with Ryan and I headed straight upstairs, because I really wanted

to take a shower. I paused at the foot of the stairs before turning around to stare at him, before holding

my hand out and silently requesting for my teddy, and he placed it into my arm in the next instant.

“Uh, thank you for taking me to go see the garden.” I said to him with a small tug of my lips and I most

definitely didn’t expect him to snort a little at that.

“I didn’t take you, I was forced to by no other than you.” He pointed out and I felt my cheeks pinked up

a little.

“Still, thank you. And also for holding teddy for me, because it’s really heavy and I don’t have a lot of

strength in my arms.” I continued to speak after a few moments and watched as he nodded his head

once, without saying a thing.

I turned around and started to make my way up the stairs, pausing at the top of the stairs to turn

around and glance behind, and he was still standing at the foot of the stairs, with his eyes locked on my

face and his hands locked behind him… watching.
