Beverly

Chapter 7

Clyde Dante

Don’t ask me why I keep seeing this girl for the past 3 months. We keep bumping each other, I mean not technically bumping each other but I kept seeing her everywhere and she was always with a different guy every time.

I found myself taking a photo of her different appearance. She kept changing her wigs from black, brunette, redhead and light brown. From long hair to short hair too. She wore a lot of contact lenses from green, blue and brown.

One week before I caught Beverly big time, my grandma called me that she asked me for a big favor. She asked me to stay back in LA where all my family are for 1 year to celebrate her 100th birthday. My family begged me to spend time in LA and I know it’s been a long time since I visited them.

I was staying in UK for 2 years and I just got back from UK and now I have to go to LA for 1 year. My grandma keep asking me if I have a girlfriend or no and I kept telling her that I don’t have any. Not only my grandma but everyone in my family. I kept begging them to leave me alone… and they keep lecturing me that I’m almost 30. Gosh… they’re so annoying.

After hundreds of calls, I decided to go to LA but not alone. I need to find a girl who can make my family hate her so they won’t force me to get into a relationship again. My mind went straight to Beverly. I caught her and lured her to take the bait and she did. She decided to help but I’m glad for that.

I mean… she owed me a lot. My car and my phone and my balls that she kicked.

After we took our luggage, we walked out from that section. Beverly linked her arm to me as we walked out. I saw my family already because they literally brought a big pla card that’s write ‘Welcome Home, Clyde Dante’

I looked at them disbelief and they hugged me right away. There’s my parents, my grandmother, my aunt and her husband and my cousins. I realized that Bev was left behind. I turned to her and held her hand.

“Guys, this is Beverly Carington, she’s my fiance.” I said as I showed them the ring.

“Hello. I’m Beverly. Nice to meet you?” She said in a shy tone. They looked at her weirdly for a while but my grandma hugged her right.

“Nice to meet you, Beverly. I don’t know until when will Clyde hide you from me. He has been so secretive these days.” My grandma said as she held Bev’s hand.

“Nice to meet you, Bev.” The others hugged her. Later on, she needs to act like a bitch at home.

“Let’s go home.” My dad said and smiled. I nodded.

“Let’s go babe.” I said to Bev and she smiled to me. I was startle because that’s the first time I’ve seen her genuinely smile. She held my hand and leaned her head to my arm.

Gosh this girl is too good when it comes to acting. She acted so natural instead of awkward. I laughed at myself for being an idiot. Of course she’s good. She went out with thousands of guys and ruined their relationship by flirting… kissing… maybe even have sex.

We put our luggage at the back of the car and we will be riding with my dad, mom and grandma. Grandma sat between me and Beverly. She smiled all the time completely happy to the fact that I’m back in LA with a fiance.

“So where did you two meet?”

“Oh, I was out with my boyfriend… I mean ex-boyfriend and then I bumped into Clyde at the club.” Beverly said and my grandma looked at her weirdly. Yes! That’s the spirit.

“Yup, that’s how we meet.”

“What do you like about Clyde?” My grandma asked again.

“He’s rich.” Beverly answered bluntly. I wanted to laugh so bad but I can’t. I kept controlling my face not to laugh. My grandma turned to me and looked at me weirdly.

“Anything else?”

“He’s handsome and good in bed.” Gosh! I want to laugh so bad. My dad and mom looked at each other with a really i-don’t-like-her expression.

“Oh… he has a really sexy body.” She added and I leaned my head back and closed my eyes. I’m trying so hard to control my laughter.

“Really? I told my husband that too!” Wait! What?

“Really?” Bev asked her disbelief.

“Yes and that’s the truth.” Grandma said and she laughed. She held Bev’s hand and patted it. Oh boy! I know that gesture a lot.

“How old are you?”

“I’m 26.” Well I just know about that tooz

“What college did you go?”Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“New York University.”

“What major?”

“Architect but now I’m jobless.” What? Architect?

“Aww you both are an architect and why are you jobless? You can work in Clyde’s company.” My grandma said.

“Aren’t you supposed to be embarrassed for being jobless?” My mom asked in a cold tone.

“I mean… Clyde is rich, I don’t need a job anymore.” Good! I saw my mom’s jaw drop down to the floor.

“What if Clyde doesn’t have a job later on? You should have a job.” My mom asked.

“You can’t handle Clyde 100%.” My dad said.

“Yes, I can.” She said confidently.

“Can you cook?” My mom asked.

“Yup, water.” She answered and I wanted to clap my hands so bad. She’s so damn good.

“Oh my.” My mom sighed and my grandma looked at me disbelief. I bet they will give a lecture at night. I glanced at Bev and she winked at me. I looked away and smirked.

She’s damn good. Now I kinda get it why people pay her to act. She’s good and so natural.
