Chapter 9
'I was partially the cause of your accident, if you hadn't come back to California because of me you wouldn't have been involved in that accident.' Rose thought to herself, feeling guilty for what happened to Alisa. However, in this life, there wouldn't be a wedding that would make you come back." "You know that you're the only one who I think truly cares for me apart from my mother." Rose suddenly remarked, making Alisa turn to look at her with a confused expression.
"What are you talking -" Before she could finish saying her words, Rose suddenly hugged her which took her by surprise.
"Thank you, Lisa." Rose mumbled softly, hugging her tighter. This was supposed to happen when she saw Alisa again but she was too consumed by the thought of getting revenge to organize her thoughts.
"Hey, why are you suddenly acting this way?" Alisa asked after Rose released her from the embrace. She couldn't help but feel like Rose was acting completely different from what she knew ever since she woke up.
"Nothing much, I'm just glad to see you again." Rose casually replied, she stood up from the bed and made her way to the bathroom. She knew that it was utterly useless to tell Alisa that she had regressed, since she'd probably make a big deal out of it and blame it on her fever. Or rather think that she's crazy.
"What the hell was that all about?" Alisa mumbled to herself as she stared at the closed bathroom door. This was no longer a feeling, she knew that Rose was different. Is her fever that serious? She keeps speaking and acting like she's a different person in the same body.'All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
In the bathroom, Rose stared intently at herself in the mirror. Compared to how she looked before she died, a beautiful and attractive young girl whose beauty was enough to rival the most beautiful goddess was staring back at her in the mirror. The skin on her face was extremely pale, yet smooth and soft at the same time. Her beautiful gray eyes shone whenever she winked her long and curly eyelashes.
This was exactly how she remembered her look when she was younger. Rose chucked at herself as she recalled how stupid she was to have listened to both Sophia and stepmother words. They had told to always mask her beauty because she would be taken advantage of with her beauty so she always wore makeup to hide her beauty and try to maintain an average look. Even Henry wasn't aware of her true beauty, because she never let him see her for who she was during their courtship and even when they got married, it wasn't hard for her to mask her beauty even though she was married. She thought Henry loved her unconditionally even though she wasn't as beautiful as other women, she thought he loved her inner beauty and not appearance but she was wrong. The day she finally planned to show him her true beauty was the same day she died.
'What a waste of time.'
Though both of her eyes are striking and alluring, they also carry a hint of coldness and indifference in them. Her long, jet- black hair cascaded down her back, framing her delicate features and making her look even more stunning like a living portrait.
"This is truly real and I really have regressed back to my past. And this beautiful face is mine. Until now, ver knew I was this stunning when I was young." Rose said, as she admired her face in the mirror.
Rose looked at herself in the mirror before laughing viciously. "This is amazing. I can't believe heaven has given me another chance to get my revenge."
She remembered everything Sophia and Henry told her before she was brutally pushed off the ship. Even though all of these events had yet to take place, it didn't mean it wouldn't happen in the future, if she didn't plan ahead before then.
"Well, if this is a second chance, I won't be as delusional as I was last time. Then I'm gonna make sure I get my revenge on that lousy family and the bastard Henry with my own hands. This time I will call the shots." Rose said out loud with a determined look on her face, she grinned revealing her bright white teeth. Alisa, who was outside in the room frowned when she heard Rose chuckling to herself in the bathroom.
A few minutes later, Rose stepped out of the bathroom after taking her shower and she met Alisa still in the room, but this time she was now sitting on her own bed scrolling through her phone. Rose said nothing and quietly got dressed.
"Lisa." Rose called as she sat on the edge of her own bed to wear her shoe.
"Yes." Alisa responded, her attention still focused on her cellphone.
"ed to go somewhere." Rose announced, glancing at Alisa and noticed her movement stopped for a few seconds before she resumed scrolling through the phone.
"I was thinking we should go out today and get some outfits to wear. Since it's the weekend, let's have some fun shopping. I just came across some clothes and you'd love it." Alisa replied, not fully understanding what Rose meant. "I mean, I have to travel back to California." Rose didn't waste time and told her.
"Okay-wait! What?! Since when did you plan that? Why are you telling me this now, just after you woke up?" Alisa quickly snapped her head to look at Rose, who sighed already expecting this reaction from Alisa.
She knew she was being hasty but she needed to return back to California in order to lay the foundation of her revenge. "I have things to do and take care of. Please, don't ask because it's not something you'd understand." Rose finally spoke. Alisa stared at the overly serious expression on Rose's face and let out a sigh of defeat. She already had her suspicions that something was wrong with Rose and was becoming an entirely different person she knew ever since she woke up. "Fine, I won't ask you why." Alisa surrendered, not wanting to pry further into the matter. "Since you're all set, let me escort you to the airport." She added as she stood up from her bed and grab her bag.
"Thank you." Rose smiled gratefully at Alisa seeing how she didn't force her to speak. She grabbed the black backpack which she had packed with a few necessary things.
*********
Both Rose and Alisa alighted from the taxi they had boarded to the airport.
"Hey, make sure you contact me once you finally settle down. "Alisa was the first to speak after the taxi drove away.
"I will, it's a promise." Rose nodded her head.
"I'm going to miss you, you know. Anyways make sure you look after yourself, okay?" Alisa said, with a little bit of sadness in her voice. She spread her hand and pulled Rose into what is called a bear hug. "Even though you haven't told me what's wrong, you can always confide in me if you need someone to talk to, Rose. Don't bottle it all up." She whispered gently into Rose's ears.
Rose smiled when she heard Alisa's words and returned the hug. Even though she knew Alisa would always be there for her, she'd love to keep her out of trouble.
"I will and when it's the right time I promise to explain to you properly but you'd have to believe me then." Rose replied after she broke their embrace.
She didn't wait for Alisa's response before smiling at her one last time and made her way to the airport entrance.
"Yeah, I will." Alisa mumbled to herself as she watched Rose disappearing figure.
