Her face seemed to change and started to shine with an explicable charm the longer you laid your eyes on it.

Instead of getting angry, Alex loved her response and decided to play along. "What do you mean? Are you implying that Mrs. Gray has been mistreating you?"

A pretty face would usually win you favors, but eventually, it's wisdom and inner beauty that determine how the game would go.

Alex's comments brought some murmuring in the crowd. Mrs. Gray was outraged and instantly regretted how she had dressed Rose.

Sophia fired back immediately, "Nonsense, my mum never mistreats you. Sis, don't be ridiculous."

Irritated by Sophia interference, Alex glared at her dangerously. "Was I speaking to you? How dare you interrupt us in our conversation? Where is your manners?"

Sophia felt like someone had slapped her hard on her face, and she stepped back helplessly. Her face was burning red. So embarrassing. Why did he insult me in front of so many people? Awful.

Even though she felt offended by Alex's harsh words, Sophia would never ever have the thought of going against Alex. Instead she blamed everything on Rose and threw a reproachful glance at her.

Rose bit her lips slightly, her face showing hesitation and helplessness. Sophia was fuming, but she dared, not utter a word again.

Being a protective mother, Beatrice took Sophia beside her and smiled at Alex apologetically, "Mr. King, I sincerely apologize for my daughter Sophia.If she has said anything offensive, please don't take it to heart."

The Kings were known nationally and internationally as one of the most influential and powerful families. Being the only heir in the family, everyone understood well the power Alexander King had. He was definitely not someone to mess with.

Alex glanced at Beatrice coldly, "Take it to heart? Do you think I would ever take anything she says to heart at all?" Each word that left his mouth was so sharp and harsh.

He had easily shut Beatrice and Sophia up. Sneers and judgmental stares were clearly audible from the crowd.

Derek, who was standing behind Alex could only shake his head and sigh helplessly. These people don't understand that the reason why Alex doesn't speak much is because the moment he opens his mouth, no good words come out from it. Yet these Gray women just keep pushing their luck.

Alex had the slightest interest in them. It was Rose that he was intrigued about. "Roseline Gray, you haven't answered my question yet?"

He wondered what her next move would be, curiously.

Rose let out a silent sigh. 'Why does this demon keep picking on me? Just to please himself? For fun? We don't even know each other. He must be just another bored and boring dummy.'

She pondered for a few seconds before she suddenly smiled at him sweetly. And Alex immediately sensed that she was to say something canny.

"I wonder why Mr. King cares so much about our family. Perhaps he's actually interested in my sister?"

The incident at the jewelry shop was only a few hours ago, so not many people had heard about it yet.

'You crafty little thing.' Alex thought he felt like strangling her at the spot for such pairing. She is definitely testing his patience.

"I have no interest in busty but brainless women like your sister." He replied as he laid his eyes on Rose's chest and continued, "It's you that I'm interested in, though you're rather flat-chested compared to the women chasing after me."

The onlookers were astounded.

There have always been talks about

him being a gay, since he had never been seen with any female company, except for his assistant Derek. To him, women were the same and all wanted the same thing, so he had never cared for any of them. But this was the first time he heard declaring interest in a girl in public.

Rose was a bit taken aback by his response. She lowered her eyes and caught sight of her own small, yet firm and perky breasts, which she was pleased with instead of being bothered. However, it's completely helpless if someone is not but a big dumb brain." she remarked, looking at his head with an intentional smile gracing her lips. Steve burst out laughing, "Hahaha. Mr. King, didn't this girl just say you have a big dumb brain?"

Alex actually found her artful bluntness and bravery impressive.

Rose shook her head and looked at Steve with pure innocence "I'm afraid this gentleman here is accusing me of what I have not done. I have said no such thing."

Seeing the entire exchange, Beatrice hurriedly stepped forward, tapped Rose on her head and scolded her "Rose, behave yourself! You are talking nonsense. Quick, apologize to both gentlemen now." She said, Though Beatrice still had her doubts.

Is Alexander King really interested in
