Chapter 67
Mrs. Gray's daughter.
After hearing Rose's response, the manager gasped and quickly lowered her upper body, bowing respectfully to Rose under the watchful gaze of everyone. She remembered her mentor telling her to always show utmost respect towards whoever comes and claims to be She disregarded the fact that she was older than Rose and showed her respect to the young girl. According to her mentor, she knew that Rose's mother was someone that is respected by her mentor and apart from Rose's reputation. The funds Rose had in the account with them was enough to earn her this type of respect as well.
"I apologize for not being able to welcome properly. I deeply apologize as well for any inconveniences my staff had caused you, it's my fault for not training them properly." The manager pleaded. "I will make sure that they all take responsibility for their actions towards you." She added as she glanced at Josh who was standing a few feets away from with menacing eyes.
"Why are you all still standing with your head high?..... Miss Gray is one our bank's most priority clients, so apologize for disrespecting her this instant." She bellowed harshly at John and the security guards.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
In the midst of all the scenes that just happened, everyone was trying to make sense of the situation. The surprising thing was that the manager was a very proud and beautiful young lady whose great pride was something that isn't new to anyone.
Being the youngest branch manager of Elites Bank gave her a lot of fame and qualification to do anything. Even some of their VIP clients have tried to make some effort to impress her. This was actually the first time they had seen her treat a client with this level of courtesy and respect which was enough to prove to everyone present that Rose was indeed an important client. There was no doubt anymore that Rose was telling the truth. And even if they were reluctant and dissatisfied with the fact that they had to bow to the little girl, no one dared to go against the manager's order.
"I'm very sorry for my rude behavior towards you, ma. I will make sure to reflect on my actions and promise it won't happen again." Josh pleaded as he bowed his head and all the security guards also followed his lead. "Please forgive us, ma." They all shouted in unison.
Rose cringed, feeling extremely uncomfortable at the scene in front of her. "It- it's alright. You don't have to make a big deal out of it. It was just a big misunderstanding, that's all." She waved her hand at them. "Thank you, Miss Gray. Please allow me to accompany you to my office where you would be more comfortable." The manager offered with a smile.
Rose nodded her head at head and followed behind her as she led her back to the elevator. She pushed the button to the top floor of the building and they arrived on the VIP floor in a few minutes.
"This way please." The manager beckoned Rose to her office.
Rose was a bit mesmerized by the design of the floor. Unlike the lower floor, this floor was much more luxuriously designed and less crowded.
The moment Rose sat down on the seat in the manager's office, the secretary walked in and served her juice for refreshment.
"Once again, I apologize to you again, Miss Gray. That wasn't how I intended our first meeting to be like." The manager said as she sat on the opposite seat from Rose.
"I'm fine, ma'am." Rose shook her head.
"Oh my, you don't have to address me so formally. I apologize again, I didn't introduce myself to you earlier when I called you. My name is Nancy Miller. You can call me Nancy." Nancy finally introduced and told Rose her name.
"I'm not really sure about that. You're
clearly older than me to call you by your name. Rose shook her head again in hesitation. First of all, Nancy was old enough to be her older sister so she felt weird calling her by her name. Secondly, she barely knew her so it made it
uncomfortable to address her so casually.
"But, I insist on it, ma." Nancy replied, still remaining persistent with her decision.
"Well, I can only address you casually if you agree to address me by my name as well." Rose proposed. This was the only idea she could come up with at the moment in order to make the situation fair. "I don't know what to call you." Nancy said as she looked at Rose.
"Rose. Call me Rose."
"Fine, Rose." Nancy agreed.
Rose smiled seeing how Nancy didn't argue anymore. "Alright, Sister Nancy....., why don't we get down to business already?"
Nancy nodded her head and cleared
her throat before speaking. "Rose, like I told you earlier. We noticed that you havezactivated the usage of the credit card with you. We have been
keeping a close eye on Mrs Gray for the past few years, so it w
for us to know when you
easy
it."
Nancy started off.
"Are you the one my mother in charge of the account before she died, Sister Nancy?" Rose asked.
"No, the person Mrs Gray left in
charge was my mentor, the former general manager. But before he retired, he handed the account personally to me and asked me to
keep a close watch on it until-
it. Nancy
day you'd come to claim it.
shook her head and replied to Rose.
"I see. So, why exactly am I here?"
"I have invited you here because we have to change all the information of the account details to yours, that was what Mrs Gray asked us to do if her daughter shows up." Nancy calmly replied.
"I don't think I follow up with what you are saying? Why do I have to upgrade my mother's account? I understand if I have to change the details of the account to mine." Still not understanding what Nancy was talking about, Rose couldn't help but ask.
