Chapter 41 Frustration
Audrey POV
It’s Sunday today, and since I won’t be going anywhere, I’ll just stay back at home, play video games, and hang out with the boys later in the evening.
After surfing the internet for what seemed like forever, I finally turned off my laptop, and dropped it on the bedside table, before swinging my legs down the bed, after which I got on my feet, before dragging myself sluggishly into the bathroom. Stepping into the bathroom, I stripped out of my clothes, before getting under the shower, and had a long relaxing bath.
After staying in the jacuzzi for almost an hour, I finally stood up and hit the shower, where I washed off the soapy water on my body, before I finally wrapped a towel dangerously around my waist, after which I walked back into my room.
Stepping into the room with my body dripping wet, I walked carefully to the dresser, making sure that I don’t slip on the tiles, and break my bones, that’s the most horrible thing I’d never want to imagine. Sitting before the mirror, I grabbed the blower, and put it on, before I started drying my hair. I think it’s high time I get myself a girlfriend, my life is so boring, that’s crazy, but that’s the damn truth.
After I was done drying my hair, I took my time to apply my skin care oil on my body, before applying lotion, after which I stood up, and walked over to my closet. I threw it opened as soon as I got to it, as I was welcomed with my expensive looking clothes, staring back at me. I ran my eyes through the clothes, and sighed, before picking out a short black trouser, and white top. Since I’m not going anywhere important, you aren’t expecting me to dress so important, do you?
After dressing casually, I finally left my room, not after picking my phone from the bed. I wouldn’t want mom yelling at me, if I miss her call later. Speaking of my mom, the young beautiful woman resides in Paris, running a business there, she’s been on my neck to introduce my girlfriend to her, but trust me, I always have my way of escaping her nagging.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
Stepping out of my room, I walked through the hallway, till I got to the staircase, and descended down it. As soon as I got to the living room, I crashed on the couch tiredly, while groaning. Gosh! I’m so tired, I need a good sleep after a round of this game.
“Laura!… Laura!!” I called my chef, before she finally came out from wherever she was, having a questioning look on her face. Laura has been my friend from school, so we’re more of a friend, than a worker.
“What’s it Audrey?” She rolled her eyes at me, as soon as she got to the living room, and crashed on the couch.
“I didn’t call you to come sit down you jerk!” I glared at her, and she rolled her eyes.
“Do I need you to tell me to have a seat?” She scoffed, as she grabbed the remote, and turned the TV on, before selecting her usual favorite Korean movie. Well, sorry I’d have to disappoint her today, because I got games to play, so she would have to leave this movie till later.
“Sorry to disappoint you Laura, but I want to come play a game, so can you hand me the remote please?” I smiled at her, and she huffed angrily, before throwing it at me, and u caught it in mid air, while laughing. Anyone seeing us for the first time, would definitely mistake us for being couples, but there isn’t anything between us, she has a boyfriend, and not that I have interest in her also, we’re just friends, and it’ll always remain like that.
She stood up, and started walking away.
“I called you here Laura.” I spoke up, but she glared at me, before walking away. The heck! This girl is the craziest person I’ve ever met, she can be so annoying.
Turning my attention to the TV, I changed the channel, and connected the game pad, before activating the video game, and in the next seconds, I was playing away my time.
The sound of my ringing phone pulled my attention, and I rolled my eyes. Who the heck is disturbing me now? I rolled my eyes, and paused the game, before reaching out to it, and gasped, as I behold the caller. It’s mom! Why is she calling me right now? To frustrate me, huh?
I rolled my eyes hesitantly, before sliding the answer button, and put the call on speaker.
“Mom!” I called frustratingly while playing the game.
“Where the heck did you keep your phone?” Her voice thundered from the other end, and thank goodness I didn’t hold the phone to my ear, who knows, my ear drum must’ve damaged by now. Wait! Did she just asked where I kept my phone? She just called me.
“Mom…”
“Come pick me up from the airport.” She cut me off, and the line went dead immediately. What the heck! Did she just said I should come pick her up? Is she being serious right now? The last time I checked, she’s in Paris, don’t tell me she’s back to finally frustrate me now? Oh heavens! I’m doomed!
I groaned frustratingly, as I dropped the pad, and stood up, before going upstairs to my room, where I picked my car keys from, before leaving to pick her up. Stepping out of the house, I walked over to the parking lot, where I hopped in on my car, before driving out of the compound, and soon, I was on my way to the airport.
After driving for what seemed like forever, I finally got to the airport, and in no time, I spotted her.
“You didn’t tell me you were coming down here mom.” I said, as I helped her carried her bag to the car, while she followed me from behind.
“Is that your way of welcoming me?” She snapped at me menacingly, and I almost flinched. This woman is just going to kill me before my time.
“Sorry mom…”
“If you had a girlfriend, she would’ve been the one to come pick me up now, when…”
“Mom can you please stop? You just got here, so can we not talk about this please?” I rolled my eyes as I opened the door for her, and she glared at me, before entering inside. Oh God! Can my life be any better?
I walked over to the other side, and hopped in on the car, before turning the ignition, but the sound of my ringing phone distracted me, and I sighed, before picking checking to see a strange number, displaying on the screen of my phone. Why the heck does the person choose to call me at this time I’m in no mood? I rolled my eyes, as I slide the answer button, before turning on the speaker.
“Hey Audrey!” Came the familiar voice, which I will always recognize, even in my sleep…
