Chasing My Ex-wife Back

Chapter 26

Chapter 26

“Fuck!” Cole cursed, seeing Hailes fall to the floor. He freed Tyler, then ran towards her, crouching.

“Babe, are you okay?”

“Don’t you dare touch me!” Hailey glared at him, hissing from so much pain.

Tyler was by her other side too, “I am really sorry, Hailey, Come, let me help you.”

“You both should get the fuck away from me.”

“I’m so sorry, babe, he started it!” Tyler defended, glaring at Cole. At this point, Hailey had helped herself to a sitting position on the floor.

“You dare blame me? What part of it don’t you get that you are to stay the hell away from my wife!” “I am not your fucking wife okay!” Hailey said at the top of her voice shunning both men.

“Come on, babes. I thought we settled our differences already!” From NôvelDrama.Org.

“She doesn’t want you. So take your leave.”

“I am going nowhere and don’t you dare interfere in any conversation between my wife and I.”

“Seeing that this mess was not going to end anytime soon, Hailey managed to stand on her feet on her own, ignoring any help from both men. It was then she realized that she sustained an injury on

her elbow.

“I am so sorry, love. Let’s go in so I can treat that for you.” Tyler offered.

“You both should stay out of my life forever! I don’t want to see you all anymore!” Hailey stormed into the house, slamming the door behind her.

She located her phone the moment she got to the living room and dialed the head security guard on duty who picked up almost immediately.

“Good evening, ma’am.”

“Get those two men out of my home in Five minutes or else you will be fired!” Hailey said at a go after which she ended the call.

After making sure all doors and windows were properly shut and all lights were turned off, She proceeded to her bedroom and went straight to the bathroom to clean up. Hailes first splashed some water on her face, then went ahead to treat the bruise on her elbow. She secured it with a bandage tape after which she went ahead to change into a clean nightgown.

Back in her room, Hailey picked up her phone and dialed Debbie.

“Sleeping?”

“No, just scrolling through social media. How are you?”

“I just returned from a war.”

“What do you mean?” Debbie asked curiously.

Hailey sighed, placing the phone on speaker in her hands and crawling into bed.

“The twins and I were watching TV when the doorbell rang. I answered and it was Cole.”

“Holy shit! Shouldn’t he be in the hospital? Don’t tell me he saw my god babies?”

“He was the one who tucked them to bed.”

“Damn!” Debbie cursed from the other side.

“And unfortunately, Tyler came too. They got into a fight. I tried separating them but I ended up with a wound on my elbow.”

“So sorry, Hailes, do you need me to come over?” The concern in Debbie’s voice didn’t go. unnoticed.

“It’s fine, I think I can manage. I just needed someone to talk to because I was going crazy.”

“So what is going to happen now? I mean, both men want you. And now, the twins know about Cole.”

“I honestly don’t know how Cole got my address.”

“The securities let him in or did he come in illegally?

“I don’t know what reasons he gave but they’let him in. I know Cole to be really manipulative. I am sure he gave them a crooked reason.”

“I did everything I could to make him leave but luck just wasn’t on my side.”

“I made it known that I don’t want him, I don’t want anything to do with him but he kept pestering

1. me.

“Of course, he didn’t believe me when I told him that the twins aren’t his.”

“The boys are a replica of Cole. No one would believe that they are not related. The securities probably noticed the resemblance too and that is why they didn’t really suspect Cole with whatever reasons he gave to come in.”

“He requested for a DNA test”

“You are going to allow him?”

“Of course not! I don’t want him anywhere near my Babies. I don’t trust him, I don’t want him in our lives.”

“I understand you and I respect your decision but I don’t think Cole is going to back down now. He didn’t give up on you when he hadn’t seen the twins. What makes you think he is going to stay away.

now?”

“I understand you. I don’t know what I am going to do but he has to stay away.”

“What if the twins want him?”

“No!” Hailey shook her head. “They are just kids. I am sure they will have forgotten about the encounter by the time they wake up.”

“I really want things to go well for you, Hailey but you seem to underestimate the power of biological bond.”

“What do you mean?”

“I can’t believe you are thinking the twins will forget that their Dad was here when they wake up.”

“What is the worst that can happen?” Hailey asked.

“I think you are underestimating this situation, babe,”

“No, I’m not. I just feel the hardest part is getting rid of Cole. The twins are still little so they will - adapt regardless.”

“This is not about my relationship with Cole or the fact that I am being selfish, not to allow the twins to get to know him. I haven’t even accepted him in my life and someone is wishing me dead already. I can’t put my kids in the same danger. They are my life and I can’t imagine living in this world without them.”

“I understand you. And I hope Cole stays away forever this time around.”

“I don’t know how but I am going to make sure of that. I will get tighter security too.”

“So, just one last question about him. You are certain you don’t want Cole anymore.”

“No, I don’t.”

“Your feelings?”

Hailey shook her head as though Debbie could see her. “I don’t want these feelings to take control of me anymore. I mean, I deserve better.”

“You do. So does that mean you are going to give Tyler a chance? I honestly thought he would never disturb you again. But it seems that he can’t get over you.”

“Yeah, I wasn’t expecting him to show up. At least not tonight. If I choose to marry Tyler, it is going

to be out of pity. At least for now. Also, I feel I have been so drained that I am unable to love anymore or trust anyone.”

“Don’t think that way. Everything will be fine. I promise you.”

“I am so done, Debbie!”

“No, don’t

say that. No one is destined to be alone.”

“I am not alone. I have the company. I have my kids.”

“We all know that it is never going to be the same as having a man.”

“You just need to give yourself the chance to let go of all the hate and worries, after which everything you want will come to you.”

“Why did you have to show up?” Cole glared at Tyler

“Stay the hell away from my woman!” Tyler said possessively.

“Hailey is mine! And no one is going to take her away from me. I am also the father to those little boys there. They love me already and we are going to be a big and happy family.” Cole said. possessively, trying to ignore the slight pain in his arm.

“Where were you when Hailey needed a shoulder to cry on?”

“Where were you when the boys needed a male figure to teach them to ride their bike, read to them, and also teach them how to play with their toys?”

“I don’t care about your past with Hailey. She doesn’t want you anymore and that gives me so much hope. You saw a good woman and you ignored her. This is the price you pay for not knowing the value of what you have.”

“I am going to give Hailey all the time she needs. But I just want you to have it in mind that she is. going to pick me over you.”

Cole shook his head. “That is not going to happen!”

“We will see about that!” Ty glared at him after which he stormed away!

THE NEXT DAY!

It was just past 9 am and Cole was having his morning tea while a nurse cleaned and dressed his wound.

His housekeeper, Matilda interrupted, holding a big white envelope. “This came for you. Sir”

“Who sent it?” Cole stared curiously because every letter or mail was always directed to the office.

“It was in the mailbox.”

The nurse finished cleaning and dressing the wound after which Cole collected the envelope from his housekeeper.

He opened it immediately, bringing out the contents in it.

It turned out to be the divorce papers, as well as a restraining order for Hailey and the twins against him.

“What the hell!!!?” Cole said with confusion and so much anger all over his face.
