ONE WEEK LATER
I watched as Damian sat close to Felix and watched him in his unconscious state like it was the most important in the world right now.
It has been a whole week now and Felix still have not regained consciousness. We didn’t go to the mansion during those days.
We have been staying, eating, bathing and sleeping in the hospital. Some guards usually went to the mansion to bring our clothes and food for us because I didn’t enjoy eating the hospital food.
Well, I would have liked to go home for a fresh and warm bath in a tub but Damian didn’t agree even though I assured him that it wouldn’t take long.
He said that it was dangerous for me to leave his sight. Maybe it was because of the bomb that went off in that hotel or because of Felix’s accident.
Lately, Damian has become really overprotective and wouldn’t let me go out unless I’m was going with him or Grey. Though the privacy invasion was really unbearable, I didn’t argue with him because I know he meant well.
I just hoped that his anxiety would lessen because for the past week, it had been silent. There was no attacks on us and I’m grateful.
Maybe it is just his way of being careful though he is taking it really overboard.
“What are you thinking about?” Damian’s voice brought me out of my thought.
“Nothing.” I answered with a small smile.
“Are you hungry?” He asked again.
“But we ate just now.” I said with a small chuckle.
“Yeah you’re right.” Damian muttered as he scratched his head nervously.
“He still isn’t making any body movement?” I asked as I turned to stare at the unconscious Felix.
“Yes. At this rate, I fear that he might never wake up again.” Damian said as his expression turned into that of fear.
“Don’t say that, Damian. I’m sure he will wake up soon. You just need to have more patience.” I said trying to console him.
“Haven’t I been patient enough?? It has been a week already but he still isn’t showing any signs of waking up soon. I try talking to him even though I know he wouldn’t answer me. I try to engage him in conversations we usually share when he was still conscious, hoping that my voice would make him come back but the result is still the same. I just don’t know what to do anymore.” Damian said as he bowed his head in sadness.
“Damian.” I called as I engaged him in a warm hug.
“I’m really afraid that he would never wake up again.” He muttered as he rested his head on my shoulders.
“Don’t give up yet. I’m sure he would soon wake up. We just have to wait.” I said trying to console him.
“I hope so.”
We stood, embracing each other for a while until I heard a pain filled grunt. I thought it was just in my head until I heard it again. I up to see where the sound came from.
My eyes widened when I saw Felix wide awake. I quickly pulled out of the embrace.
“What’s wrong?” Damian asked as he stared at me worriedly.
“Lo…Look….. he is awake.” I stuttered out.
“Huh???” Damian was confused.
“Felix is awake.” I said happily.
Damian turned back immediately.
“Miss me lovebirds??” Felix asked as he smiled at us.
I walked towards him and engulfed him in a very tight hug.
“I can’t breathe.” Felix muttered when the hug was becoming too tight.
“Sorry.” I said as I released Felix.
“How long was I out?” Felix asked as he tried to sit up.
“A week.” Damian muttered as he helped him sit up.
“Don’t I get a hug from you?” Felix asked as he opened his arms wide for Damian in which Damian ignored.
“Seriously?? I almost died but I still have no reaction from you. Are that heartless?” Felix asked. He seemed really hurt.
“Don’t say that. Do you know how many times he cried for you to finally wake up?” I asked.
“Really??” Felix looked shocked.
Damian turned to look at me and gave me ‘stop talking’ look but I ignored him.
“Yes. Do you know that he hasn’t even gone home to take proper bath. Rather, he has been watching you, waiting for you to finally wake up.” I continued.
“Are you talking about this Damian or another one that you know?” Felix asked in surprise.
“The same one we both know.” I answered.
“I didn’t know I would have to be on my death bed before I would be able to see you this concerned.” Felix teased as he smiled at Damian.
Damian didn’t answer him and went to press on the alert button. In less than a minute, the door was opened and the doctor and a nurse walked in.
They were surprised to see Felix already awake. The rushed towards him and did some check up on him.
“How is he?” Damian asked when they were finally done.
“He is fine now but he still needs to stay in the hospital for some time so we can do more tests on him so he can recover fully.” The doctor said before leaving with the nurse.
“Water.” Felix muttered and I walked towards the table.
I took a cup and I poured water into it before giving it to Felix. He collected it from me and finished it quickly.
I collected the cup from him before placing it back on the table.
“Can you please excuse us Selina? I and Damian need to discuss about something really impotant.” Felix suddenly asked as he turned to stare at me.
“Uhm okay.” I said and was about to leave when Damian held me back.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
“We can just discuss while she is here.” Damian said as he pulled me in.
Felix looked at us in confusion. When he saw that Damian didn’t seem to change his mind soon, he gave up.
“Alright.” He said in surrender.
I sighed and sat down on the couch.
“What do you need to discuss?” Damian asked as he walked closer to Felix.
“It is about Mark.”
At the mention of that name, I could see Damian’s jaw and fists clench.
