Chapter 99
Chapter 99
Mavis quickly forwarded the person’s contact number to Gisele. Just as Gisele was about to initiate the call, she suddenly heard her name being shouted.
“Gisele!”
She looked around and spotted Gordon as he emerged from a nearby luxurious car. A serious expression settled upon her face.
Gordon was embracing a stunningly attractive woman, their bodles pressed against each other so closely. It was as if they were trying to merge into one. The sight made Gisele feel
nauseous.
“Is Mr. Jefferson here as well? Why didn’t you inform me beforehand?” Gordon pushed the woman away and hastily adjusted his suit.
Seeing his pretentious demeanor, Gisele scoffed, “You know Dorian’s whereabouts better than I do. Why bother pretending to ask me?”
“Oh, so you’ve learned to talk back now!” Gordon quipped. “Dad expects more help around the house from you, but just look at what you’re up to!” He draped his arm lazily over the woman’s shoulder, giving her a leisurely once–over.
Gisele glared at her brother, feeling exasperated by him. Despite the temptation to give him. a couple of slaps, she knew she’d end up worse off if she did. So, she held her composure, swallowing her anger.
“Beep beep.”
Just then, Gisele’s phone rang. As she was about to reach for it and leave, Gordon. interrupted her.
“What’s the rush? Are you planning to cheat on Mr. Jefferson?” Gordon’s tone was impatient as he blocked her path. “Transfer 200,000 dollars to me now.”
Gisele paused, her voice calm. “Do I look wealthy to you?”
Not to mention, the clothes she was wearing were bought three years ago. Even if she had 200,000 bucks to spare, she wouldn’t let him squander it away again!
“Ha! Can you believe Mrs. Jefferson is trying to pretend she’s poor?” Gordon taunted, turning to the woman beside him.
She chuckled and shook her head. “Her? Do you think that’s the case? Just by looking at her… it doesn’t seem very likely. But claiming she doesn’t even have 200,000 dollars, well, that
actually seems quite believable.”
Gordon couldn’t resist bursting into laughter, finding amusement in his sister’s predicaments as usual.
As Gisele’s phone continued to ring incessantly, she hurriedly answered, saying, “Hello, this is Gis-”
“Bang!”
Suddenly, Gordon snatched her phone and flung it to the ground, snarling, “Gisele! If don’t give me the money, forget about having a good life. Do you really think nobody knows about you cheating on Mr. Jefferson?”

Gisele frowned as she gazed at her badly shattered phone, feeling a pang of heartache. Buying a new phone would surely be another hefty expense.
“Let’s go.

can’t come up with the money, I’ll personally ask Mr. Jefferson…”
Gordon seized Gisele’s arm, his other hand reaching for her hair.
Just as Gisele was about to fight back, a tall figure blocked Gordon’s hand.
“What’s a grown man doing bullying a young lady like this?” a cold voice rang out, cutting. through the air.
Gisele couldn’t help but wince in pain at Gordon’s tight grip on her arm.
As she looked up, she spotted a young man with neatly styled hair standing before her. A faint scent of disinfectant emanated from him. She quickly took a few steps back, creating some distance between Gordon and her.
Gordon’s hand felt like it was on the brink of breaking from the man’s strong grip. He shot back angrily, “It’s none of your business! Who do you think you are? Let go of me!”
“I’ll let you go if you promise to never mistreat a woman again,” the man stated firmly, maintaining his tight grip on Gordon’s hand.
Frantically, Gordon glanced behind him, but Gisele was nowhere to be seen. He could only shout at the top of his lungs, “Gisele, do you want everyone to know about your affair?”
“What? Gisele cheated?” A woman’s shocked and excited voice suddenly exclaimed from
nearby.
