Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1863

Over the past month, Maja had noticed that lan had been sneaking out at night, claiming he was working overtime.

It was the same story tonight.

Frowning, Maja called Jeff to inquire about lan's overtime hours.

There was a noticeable pause in Jeff's voice.

"Ma'am, the boss has been really buckling down lately, wrapping everything up during the day. There's been no need for any overtime at night."

A lump formed in Maja's throat. It wasn't that she was overly clingy with lan, but for three consecutive nights, he had stayed out for a couple of hours each time, claiming work commitments. It was enough to set off alarm bells for her.

Now, with Jeff's confirmation, Maja's mind raced with the stories she'd read online.

The time when a wife is pregnant is often when husbands are most likely to stray. Men who cheat during their partner's pregnancy are the lowest of the low.

Maja believed she knew lan well enough to be sure he wouldn't do such a thing.

But why would he lie? It was all too suspicious.

She had Jeff track lan's location, which turned out to be a coffee shop.

Not just any coffee shop, but a pricey, well-known one in Greenfield.

She immediately drove herself there.

This coffee shop was one of the rare ones with a membership policy, known for its discretion, which made it a hotspot for celebrities.

The private booths were especially secluded. Why would lan meet someone here?

At the reception, Maja checked his spending history and sure enough, he'd been coming here for the last three nights.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

Her heart raced. Despite her resolve to trust him, everything seemed far too dubious now.

With a mix of emotions, she approached the private booth where lan was.

Being visibly pregnant, the staff treated her with kid gloves, repeatedly offering assistance.

They were probably worried she was there to catch a cheater, which could lead to a scene where a pregnant woman might get hurt. "I'm fine, no need to fuss," she declined their help.

She didn't like causing a scene with lan over such matters. Even with the worst scenarios playing out in her head, she'd probably just quietly return to North America and go to the Sanders family to have the baby.

Taking a deep breath, just as she was about to push the door to lan's booth open, she heard footsteps inside. Someone was coming out.

Quickly, she slipped into the empty booth next door, leaving the door slightly ajar.

Soon, lan's voice came through.

"That brand won't do. It's been sued

before. It was a hush-hush affair, but I found out. We should use eco-friendly materials for everything, even baby wipes. We need to research more, dig deeper, and avoid anything with a sketchy history."

Maja was puzzled as she listened. It sounded like a discussion on parenting, but who was lan talking to?

Straining her ears, she then heard Felix's voice.

"What about the stroller?"

"I've narrowed it down to three brands. I'm having the factories investigated. Once I have the results, I'll let you know. And the embroiderer I sent you to, is she willing to make the baby shoes?"

"Yes, she agreed. I placed an order

for 24 pairs, twelve for your family and twelve for mine. A different pair for each month, each embroidered with a famous flower from that month. But it's a long wait, at least six months, since it's all

no

hand-stitched, and she's doing

double-sided embroidery."

"It's great she agreed. A business partner of mine wanted her to embroider a cap, and she declined. Go talk to her again, see if she's willing to make caps for the kids."

"Sure thing. I'll pay her a visit myself shortly."

The two passed by the booth next to Maja's, completely unaware she was there.

Maja massaged her temples, torn between irritation and amusement.
