Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1874

Zoey had no idea about all the intricacies, but after getting into her car, she drove back to her place a standalone villa in a mid-sized city. In this town, such villas weren't outrageously expensive, but they were still a symbol of the well-to-do.

Stepping out of her car, she let out a sigh of relief, her face blooming into a smile.

"Mom, I'm home! Did Dad go fishing again?"Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

In the garden, a woman was watering the flowers she had planted four years ago-flowers Zoey had planted herself. Ever since, the woman had taken great care of that patch of blooms.

"He was home, but you know the big investor from Greenfield that's been in town? Since your dad retired from there, the leaders thought he'd be familiar with the place, so they dragged him off to meet with them. Looks like he won't be home for dinner tonight. Zoey, why don't you sit down for a bit? Let me finish up here, and I'll start dinner."

"No, Mom, let me cook."

"Why would you cook? I've told you ever since that car accident four years ago, you shouldn't be doing housework. Even you being a teacher, I was dead against it, with all the training you have to do. Look, I can take care of you, your dowry is all set."

Zoey felt a wave of emotion. When she woke up in the hospital four years ago, she was terrified; she couldn't remember anything.

Not knowing your past is a scary thing. Every face seemed strange to her.

That was when Curtis March and Miranda showed up a kindly looking couple.

Curtis explained that she had been sent to the countryside for protection because of her work, and now that he was officially retired, they had arranged to bring her home. Unfortunately, there was a car accident on the way, resulting in her amnesia.

Miranda immediately took her hand and cried, tears streaming as if her heart was breaking, saying how much she had suffered.

Zoey felt touched because you can't fake the concern in someone's eyes-Miranda was genuinely worried about her.

And Curtis just stood by, sighing deeply before saying, "Now that I'm retired, we brought you back to live with us as a family."

Zoey felt no aversion to them and agreed to live with them without hesitation.

For four years, the family of three had a close relationship. Her parents were transparent about everything, including their pensions.

Being special ops, their pensions

were substantial, along with various

royalties, they pulled in about

$30,000 a month-a fortune in a

mid-sized city.

So, the couple insisted Zoey just needed to tend to her garden and enjoy her days in peace.

But Zoey didn't want that kind of life; she felt she should work.

Job prospects in the small city. weren't great, mostly sales positions, but then she heard a

preschool was hiring. She hastily trained for the role and, to her surprise, got the job.

After two years at the preschool, she became more serene and delighted in her interactions with the children.

Her father, Curtis, took up fishing in his retirement while her mother, Miranda, cultivated her cooking skills.

They were a blissful family. Zoey often woke up thankful for her present life.

While her colleagues faced pressure to marry, her parents never rushed her, advising her to focus on herself and marry when ready.

Zoey believed Curtis and Miranda to be the most wonderful parents in the world.

They had even entrusted her with their pension card early on, telling her to buy whatever she desired.

"Zoey, you're working outside, don't

let the salary make you feel

undervalued. Your mom and I can take care of you, we don't need to please anyone," they'd say
