Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 267

lan’s gaze wasn’t indifferent anymore; it was like a raging fire burning in his eyes.

But he’s “lan“, stronger than most in terms of self–control and patience.

So, he just kept staring at the computer screen, trying to shoo away those inappropriate thoughts.

After all, she was already another man’s wife.

Maja’s been on the phone with the hospital many times, but they keep saying it’s alcohol poisoning.

The cops have started poking around, but since the surveillance equipment got wrecked, they’ve

warned Wyatt’s family to brace for the worst.

Yet, Maja’s got this hunch.

Wyatt’s death was about what he was trying to tell her.

First thing, she went to see Wyatt’s wife. Wyatt was a serious dude, but he always had a good thing

going with his wife; family was important to him.

Maja’s met her before, but ever since Wyatt cut ties with her, things between them got awkward.

Wyatt’s wife was still bawling her eyes out in the hallway.

“I want to know, did Wyatt go anywhere else recently?”

She stopped crying; she seemed to have aged a lot in just a few hours.

“His life’s been pretty predictable over the years; ever since he was diagnosed with high blood

pressure and gout, he quit drinking. I can’t believe he got poisoned by booze…”

She covered her mouth, tears rolling down, “He didn’t go anywhere else; he’s always been working at

the company. He came home tonight all jittery, then left. This was the first time he’s been out in

months.”

Who would have thought it would be his last?

She sobbed, leaning on a relative’s shoulder.

Maja’s got a lead; Wyatt came home from work all twitchy and must have thought things over before

texting her.

What did he find at the company?

Every time the Pennyfeather family’s company came up, Maja couldn’t help but think of Cristina and

Glenn Pennyfeather. With their dad gone, who knows what kind of mess they’ve made of the

company?

Glenn looked all prim and proper, but he was dark on the inside and didn’t know how to run a company.

Daybreak, Maja showed up at the Pennyfeather family’s company.

She hadn’t been here since she grew up and felt like a stranger.

She got to Wyatt’s desk and started going through his drawers.

Wyatt’s stuff was all neat, only a cup he always had with him on the desk, nothing else.

Maja recognized the cup; Wyatt’s had it for years and always carried it with him.

Since he came home last night, this cup should have gone home with him.

Unless he was too freaked out, he forgot the cup.

She also checked the surveillance room and wanted to see Wyatt’s whereabouts yesterday.

Maja was so focused that she didn’t notice someone else had come into the surveillance room.

Glenn shut the door and locked it, then slowly walked up behind Maja and wrapped his arms around her waist.

“Maja, you can’t just show up at the company without telling me; I could’ve shown you around.”

Maja jumped and quickly pushed him away.

Glenn lifted his hand and sniffed his fingers.

“Smells good. Did you put on perfume today?”

His gaze ran up and down Maja as if she was naked.

His eyes were full of determination.

Maja glanced at the locked door, frowned, and reached for her phone to make a call, but Glenn

slapped it out of her hand.

“Maja, you walked in here today, don’t even think about running away; I’ve missed you all these

years.”

Glenn looked at her, then kicked the phone away.

Maja snorted, “Our father’s gone; no need to play nice anymore?”

Glenn had been lusting after Maja for a long time; ever since before he moved into the Pennyfeather Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

family, he had been interested in Maja.

He wishes he could swallow her whole.

Now Maja was alone and vulnerable; he was fired up and pulled her in.

“Stop pretending!”

His fake mask was ripped off, revealing his ugliest, most disgusting face.

Glenn’s excited face turned red.
