Chapter 22 I won’t invite anyone else but you.
He smiled and said gently, “I haven’t seen you for a long time, can I have a meal with you?”
Susan froze, and then hooked her lips with great impatience, “Mr. Walker is talking to the wrong person, if you want to invite someone, you don’t need to talk to me.”

The gesture of goodwill she heard from Chandler’s mouth gave her some chills. She couldn’t believe the man had really changed his tune. She didn’t say anything, but her eyes were on him, surveying him from head to toe.
“I’m not inviting the next person, just you.” He continued.
“Is this Mr. Walker thinking I’m broke, taking pity on me?” She couldn’t help the coldness in her heart as she looked at his face. Her heart, which had easily calmed down, was stirred up again, making her irritable.
Chandler said cheekily, “No, just trying to catch up.”
Susan grunted and looked at the man in front of her with contempt, “Mr. Walker wants to catch up with me? I’m afraid I didn’t hear you wrong.”
“No, it’s just that I haven’t seen you in a long time.”
“Then why should I say yes to you? Because you are Mr. Walker or my former husband? Catching up with old times? What do we have to talk about, a discussion about the fact that you didn’t want the kid in the first place?”
Chandler couldn’t think of anything to say for a moment.
“Is this Mr. Walker thinking I’m broke, taking pity on me?” She couldn’t help the coldness in her heart as she looked at his face. Her heart, which had easily calmed down, was stirred up again, making her irritable.
He had experienced that smile when she had been with Alex, only to have it ruined by his own hand as a young man.
For her aggressive stance, Chandler can only be careful, afraid to provoke her.
Susan held back the hatred in her heart, obviously, she had disguised herself impeccably, but now that she saw him again, there was still a kind of indefinable emotion.
She doesn’t want to show that weakness in front of him anymore, and she’s not the Susan she once was.
She is now back, just to get back everything that she once had.
Seeing that he did not speak for a long time, the last trace of patience in his heart also disappeared, she took one last look, “I’ll leave if there’s nothing else.”
He also withdrew his gaze, his throat was sore, and his tone was choked, “Do you still hate me?”
Hate? Susan couldn’t understand, she looked at him in amazement and asked, “Why should I hate you? Mr. Walker, you’re imagining too much, you’re getting sick.”
Chandler was stunned, and inexplicably spilled a bitter smile, “Probably, yes.”
He probably has a disease called “remorse”, so now he desperately wants to catch up with their old days.
Seeing his lack of action, Susan pressed again, ” What, Mr. Walker is not really sick, right? If you are sick, you have to treat it before it’s too late.
“It can’t be cured.” He looked up, looking at the person in front of him, “Because there is no cure.”
“It’s none of my business if you can’t cure it, you should have gone to the doctor.” She pretended not to understand, turned around to get her things, and said in a muffled voice, “I have things to do, Mr. Walker please make yourself comfortable.”
He understood the meaning of expulsion.
But seeing her like this, he said softly, “I will come over again.”
“You’d better not come over, I’m afraid I won’t be able to resist killing you.” She smiled, with no joy in her eyes.
Chandler paused for a moment, not intimidated by this, and only spoke gently, “Susan, has it ever occurred to you that you actually still care about me?”
Susan froze for a moment, and by the time she reacted, he had already left. She was so angry that she couldn’t stand still and threw whatever she had in her hand, smashing it one by one toward the door.
Alex, who was standing beside her, watched in silence and waited for her to quiet down before speaking, “Are you all right?”
The words, again, brought up the sourness in her heart, and she took a moment to breathe before standing up.
Her eyes blinked and she took a few steps forward, “I still have things to do, you go ahead.”
“Then you get some rest.” He seemed to see what was going on and said no more. After a soft admonition, he left.
When the door closed, she immediately dropped to the floor, her face turned ashen. She was dazed, her mind filled with the words he had just said.
Did she care? Yes. He had killed her child, how could she not care? So, she hated, hated him for being heartless and ruthless.
The tears in the eyes are still swirling. The tightened fingers are slowly loosening up, and the nails have been snapped into the palm of the hand, leaving red marks.
Why is she still sad, why is she still sad for that scum? She couldn’t figure it out, her eyes were tightly closed, and those memories belonging to the pain began to slowly awaken.
She shuddered, and her heart was reluctant to think about why she still had a feeling of palpitations when she faced him.
When she touches his gaze, she has an addictive feeling.
Her fingers tightened, and she gritted her teeth trying to put all of that intolerance and reluctance out of her mind. She is Susan, the Susan who came to collect her debt, not the cowardly Susan of old.
