Chapter 775
Grant flipped through the jewelry design catalog, raising an eyebrow. "Did she really ask you?"
"Yep, just now."
Edgar shook his head, puzzled. "But you never accepted my confession. Why would you lie to her? Lying isn't right."
Clutching his chest dramatically, Edgar groaned, "Now, every time I see her, I'll be drowning in guilt."
Grant's tone was nonchalant. "Well, if you accept it now, technically, it won't be a lie later, right?"
Edgar's eyes widened in shock. He jumped up and moved closer to Grant, "Wait, are you serious?"
He'd hoped Grant had a change of heart, but the icy look Grant shot his way quickly shattered that hope.
Edgar caught on fast. "So, you want us to pretend to be a couple?"
A hint of admiration flickered in Grant's eyes. "Smart."
"Why though?"
Grant shrugged, "It's my business, and I don't have to explain it to you."
Edgar flopped back onto the couch, crossing his arms. He admired his freshly manicured nails with a haughty air. "How is this not my business? You think I'm just your pawn? I'm not into these deceitful games you guys play."
Grant raised the stakes, "I'll throw in an extra two percent of QUEEN's shares."
Edgar's interest was piqued, but he feigned reluctance. "Still, no. Chloe is my bestie, my confidante."
Grant's gaze was unwavering. "Fine. Five percent."Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Edgar's face broke into a grin. "Deal, boss. I'll set up a dinner tonight; by tomorrow, the whole company will think we're an item."
He chuckled, "But seriously, boss, if you like little Y, why keep it from her?"
Grant's eyes turned icy, and Edgar felt a shiver run down his spine. "Why the glare? Did I hit a nerve?"
Grant's voice was sharp. "How did you figure it out?"
Only Connor knew this secret, and Grant hadn't tried hard to keep it quiet from others. Even Chloe wasn't supposed to know.
Edgar leaned in closer, sniffing the air near Grant's collar. Grant quickly backed off. "Edgar, I asked you to act, not cross boundaries."
Edgar simply shrugged, casually
perching on Grant's desk. "Relax, it's the perfume little Y gave you, right? You've had this gardenia scent since your birthday. If I'm not mistaken, it was her gift."
Grant's stare was icy.

Edgar stood up, waving his hand dismissively. "Chill, I won't spill the beans, not even to little Y."
With that, Edgar sauntered out of Grant's office.
Chloe had spent her day with Cassie,
and they finally found the perfect venue for their event. That evening Cassie treated Chloe to a leisurely French dinner at a Western

restaurant. They chatted the entire time.
Chloe couldn't help but confide in Cassie about recent happenings She sighed, "Honestly, men can be so childish. I've never doubted him, so why can't he just trust me?"

Cassie pondered, "I don't think it's about trust. Maybe he just doesn't like your friend."
"So, what do I do?"
Cassie advised, "Have a heart-to-heart, clear things up?"
