Enchanted Nightfall: Falling for Destiny

Chapter 380

Quintessa was taken aback for a moment, then nodded, "Yeah, I know her. The actress who got arrested a while back, right? We were on the same film set once."

"She told me Martha suspects that it was you who framed her back then. Ever since she got out of the police station, she's been looking for you."

As soon as Quintessa saw Roxanne's photo, she felt something was off, yet something also seemed right.

How could Roxanne get mixed up with Rachel? How could those two possibly know each other?

But if it was Roxanne, then everything started to make sense because she had a very clear motive.

Several months had passed since the incident with Roxanne, and her showing up now wasn't surprising. But to get involved with Rachel so soon after getting out, and nearly succeeding in her scheme? That was something. Could Roxanne be that formidable?

Quintessa asked, "So, did you catch Roxanne?"

The officer shook his head, "No, she escaped. There's a prop master on the Requiem set named Dave who was in cahoots with her. He sabotaged the brakes and the car door. He confessed everything. He used to be one of Roxanne's die-hard fans. About a week ago, Roxanne found him."

After the officer finished questioning and explained the situation, he prepared to leave.

"Thank you, officer."

"You're welcome."

Once the officer left, Quintessa sat in silence, her expression dark and brooding. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Tyrone wrapped his arms around Quintessa's waist, "Stop worrying. I'm here for you."

From the moment Quintessa's trouble started, Tyrone seemed very calm, but no one knew better than he did the turmoil he had been through.

He had left work early that afternoon and rushed to the set, only to find the car smoking and Quintessa trapped inside. Panic had seized him instantly.

The only thought in Tyrone's mind was, I can't let her die, I can't let her die, I haven't told her I love her yet.

Yes, love. He could finally confirm what his feelings for Quintessa truly were.

It was no longer curiosity, no longer intrigue, no longer mere possessiveness.

He wanted more than her body; he wanted her, all of her.

But today, after a harrowing brush with death, he realized his feelings for her ran much deeper than mere liking.

It was love!

A deep, unacknowledged love. How could he have been so blind?

Tyrone gently patted Quintessa's head, "You've had a long day. Try to get some rest."

"I can't sleep." Sometimes, the more exhausted you are, the harder it is to fall asleep.

"Wait for me a moment."

Tyrone went out and returned shortly with a deck of playing cards, nodding at Alexander, "How about a game of poker?"

Alexander had a headache, but

Alexander nodded, "Sure, let's play."

Tyrone glanced at Quintessa and Alexander, "The winner gets to ask the loser a question, which must be answered truthfully." Alexander said, "Deal!"

Quintessa replied, "We'll see."

"Alright, since you're the lady here, you get the privilege of opting out of answering."

Tyrone smirked inwardly,

challenging Alexander with a look: I've been playing cards since elementary school, and I wasn't the playground card king for nothing. You're going down today.
