Jealousy
Third person POV
With everything happening, Demelza resorts to going to Nathan as he is, at this point her last option. Thinking about the fact that he had not even tried to reach out to her since that night begins to make her feel cheap and used. She stood up from her bed and made her way to the bathroom to have a quick shower. In a few minutes, she is done bathing and makes her way to her dresser to cream her body and also dry her hair. She hasten up as she wanted to ensure she meets him in the office. Another reason she really needed to be fast about it is that she needed to see her mum at the hospital afterwards.

Demelza hurriedly took a taxi to Nathan’s office. immediately she got to the premises, she thanked the Taxis driver and paid him before alighting from the car. She stands and looks around for a while before walking up to the reception. with every step forward, her heart beats faster as she feels very nervous.
“Good afternoon, miss,” Demelza greeted the receptionist with a low voice smiling.
“Good Afternoon, ” the receptionist smiled back but with a facial expression expecting Demelza to state her business there.
Demelza noticed the questionable look on the receptionist’s face realizing what it was.
“I’m here to see Nathan,” Demelza tells the receptionist who raises an eyebrow because of the familiarity Demelza used to call Nathan’s name. Demelza immediately realized she fucked up and corrected herself.
“Mr Nathan, Nathan Storms. Is he in?” Demelza asked, trying to put on a show like she is close to Nathan and it will be enough to fool the receptionist.
Just as she hoped, her trick was working.
“Do you have an appointment?” She asked Demelza.
“No, I don’t. Why will I need an appointment to see my friend? I don’t think he will appreciate you holding me down here, but you know what?” Demelza asked the receptionist rhetorically without giving the receptionist enough time to say anything else. “I better call him right now, I feel embarrassed already.” Demelza said dramatically.
The receptionist, not wanting to get Nathan upset, does not let Demelza call him. “It’s alright ma’am. You can go in, he should be in his office.” The receptionist tells her with a smile.
Demelza makes her way to the elevator straight to his office floor. After about a minute, the elevator dings indicating they have gotten to the top floor.
Demelza comes out of the elevator and makes her way to Nathan’s office. She walks carefully and steadily enough to not make a sound with her footsteps. Finally in front of his office she takes a deep breath and then knocks twice. She waits a bit and then opens the door, finding her way inside. She walks in slowly looking around. She notices there is no one inside the office but does not stop walking in. She keeps walking further into the office out of curiosity and desperation to ensure she meets with Nathan.
As Demelza fed her eyes with the serene sight if Nathan’s office, she notices the door to his study. She opens the door of the study and makes her way inside. She is delighted with how elegant the study looks but her eyes widen in surprise mixed with jealousy when she sees a very classy lady seated on Nathan’s leather chair. She stood there numb looking at the lady and observing the lady’s look. Everything about the lady exudes an air of sophistication and class, her posture regal and her clothes exquisitely elegant.
Demelza, s heart sank immediately as she feels a sting of jealousy. seeing such a beautiful woman seated in his office made her feel less as the thoughts of her not being up to his standard stirred a storm of emotions within her. At that point she could not tell what she feels as so many thoughts run through her mind. Trying to keep herself in check, the lady raises an eyebrow to know why Demelza has been on the same spot for a while without saying anything.
“Good afternoon” Demelza greeted immediately she realized she had been numb. “Afternoon?” the lady responded expecting Demelza to say more. Demelza stands caught up in a whirlwind of conflicting emotions and a gnawing jealousy threatening to consume her.
“I’m Sorry for being improper. I am Demelza” Demelza apologizes and introduces herself at the same time.
“Okayy, I’m Allison by the way. I’m Nathan’s sister” Allison introduces herself too. For some reason, relief washes over her knowing the lady is Nathan’s sister; less things to worry about.
“You look troubled, is everything okay?” Allison asked Demelza, noticing Demelza’s sad aura and sad eyes too.
“Yes, I’m fine.” Demelza responded by trying to hid the fact that she is sad and in desperate need of Nathan’s help.
“Hey, you can talk to me. What is wrong?’ Allison asked Demelza with a soft voice. Trying to make Demelza feel safe enough to open up.
Demelza clicks her tongue and looks at Allison again before she starts talking. In her mind, her thoughts were_’what could be the worst that’ll happen. Allison might help her convince Nathan as she seems like a very nice compassionate person.’
Demelza begins to explain everything to Allison without realizing when she broke down in tears.
Allison felt so much pity for Demelza but she kept quiet as she wanted to let Demelza out her heart and say everything on her mind without interrupting her. Demelza explained everything from start to the end. When she finished talking, Allison pulled her closer into a very warm hug.
“It’s alright, I’ll help you sort things out alright” Allison tells Demelza with intentions to help her. She knew Nathan could help but she needed to hear from him why he was declining to help. She needed to hear from both sides and understand what it is perfectly before knowing how to tender her plea on Demelza’s bahalf.
Just as Alison kept hugging and patting Demelza, the door opens and Nathan walks in making both women a bit shaken for obvious reasons.
