Chapter 2109
Chapter 2109
Gabriel narrowed his eyes slightly and turned to look at Estelle, his brows furrowed just a touch.
Estelle burst into a quick smile, "Okay, okay, I'll drop it, happy now?"
After her words, she mumbled under her breath, "For all you know, Sylvia might not even be into you. She's got the looks and the brains—probably has a line of admirers wrapped around the block!"
Gabriel's face darkened, "What does it matter to me how many admirers she has?" Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Estelle replied, "It doesn't, you two are history anyway!"
Gabriel was speechless.
They exchanged a few more words about Evelyn, and then a car rolled up to the gate. Estelle's lips curved upwards involuntarily, "That's Jonathan; I'll go say hi."
Gabriel said earnestly, "Let Jonathan prove that you made the right choice back then. Have a good relationship, don't let him down!"
Estelle nodded with a genuine smile, "I will!"
"Go on then!"
"Mhm."
Estelle walked toward the incoming car.
Dinner was a lively affair. Old Mr. Quintin, in high spirits from the festive occasion, had a few extra drinks with Old Mr. Jarvis, keeping the mood upbeat.
Evelyn sat next to Old Mr. Quintin, dutifully pouring his wine. Each time she filled his glass, Old Mr. Quintin would happily drink it all in one go.
Old Mr. Jarvis asked, "Have you heard from Vivian yet?"
Old Mr. Quintin, his cheeks rosy from the wine, looked momentarily somber before smiling, "Yes, she's currently leading her team in an art exhibition. Her assistant said she'll return once it's over."
Vivian had inherited Old Mr. Quintin's artistic talent and was always busy with her creations, teaching students, and holding exhibitions, excelling in every aspect.
Old Mr. Jarvis replied with a chuckle, "Good, good. It's fine if she's a few days late."
Old Mr. Quintin nodded, "Exactly, it gives me and Nana some quality time together before she comes back and whisks Nana away again."
Evelyn quickly said, "Grandpa, I won't be going anywhere. Even if I do reunite with my mother, I'm staying right here in J City, with you."
Old Mr. Quintin's eyes brimmed with tears of joy, "That's all I need to hear. But when the time comes, listen to your mother, don't make her sad."
Evelyn insisted, "Regardless, I'm staying."
Old Mr. Quintin, all smiles, reached for his wine again.
Old Mr. Jarvis intervened, "That's enough drinking for now, you'll have plenty more to celebrate in the future!"
"Exactly!" Sophia snatched the wine glass from Old Mr. Quintin, "You've had enough today. Any more and we'll be calling the doctor at midnight."
"What are you doing, girl? Don't you have any respect for me in front of my granddaughter?" Old Mr. Quintin pretended to be stern.
Sophia snorted, "Let's see if you care about respect when the doctor is sticking needles in you. If Evelyn sees that, she might even keep a tighter leash on you!"
Evelyn watched the playful banter between Old Mr. Quintin and Sophia, laughing awkwardly, "Is Grandpa not allowed to drink? I'm sorry, I didn't know."
"It's not your fault, he can't control himself!" Sophia chuckled.
"Don't listen to her!" Old Mr. Quintin grumbled, glaring at Sophia.
Sophia was about to retort when Jason, sitting beside her, tugged on her sweater sleeve, "Let it go, Sophia. Old Mr. Quintin's happy today."
Sophia turned to Jason, "You're not mad at me anymore?"
Jason met her gaze, "When was I ever mad at you?"
"You were giving me the cold shoulder just yesterday!"
Jason's gaze deepened, and he looked away without a word.
