Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 2139

Chapter 2139

Estelle chuckled, "Knock off the poor act and get back to work. Don't worry about me; everything's truly been taken care of."

"Just one kiss, and I'll do as you say," Manley whined playfully.

Estelle rolled her eyes and promptly ended the call.

Magdalen strolled up from behind, grinning, "Manley on the line? I noticed Jonathan's been eyeing this way a few times. Keep it up, and he'll be marching over here."

Estelle glanced across the hall and, sure enough, Jonathan was staring right at her.

For some reason, she felt a twinge of guilt and quickly averted her gaze.

Leaning on the railing, Magdalen inquired, "What's the deal with Evelyn?"

She always sensed the girl was a tad too friendly with Estelle. Estelle wasn't one for physical contact. Evelyn's repeated attempts to get close were rubbing her the wrong way.

After thinking it over, Estelle replied, "Her background's a bit unique."

"How so?" Magdalen prodded with a smile.

Estelle briefly shared the tale of Old Mr. Quintin's long-lost granddaughter and how she stumbled upon Evelyn at Citadel.

Magdalen listened with a mix of awe and surprise, "What are the odds? Old Mr. Quintin's missing granddaughter, and you find her at Citadel?"

Estelle raised an eyebrow, "Maybe it's fate, guiding me to bring her back to her grandfather."

Frowning, Magdalen questioned, "Was I too harsh earlier? I thought she was just an ordinary friend."

Estelle shook her head, "No worries."

"Did they do the paternity test yet?"

"Not yet. Old Mr. Quintin wants to wait for Vivian to get back."

Magdalen mused, "Old Mr. Quintin must be longing for his daughter."

Estelle smirked, "Smart." Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Magdalen glanced at Evelyn, now seated on the sofa, her lips curling into a meaningful smirk, "Blood relation or not, she seems to be settling into the role of Old Mr. Quintin's granddaughter."

Estelle frowned, "Really? She's always been bubbly and hasn't changed much since arriving at Old Mr. Quintin's place."

Magdalen gave her a disdainful look, "Judging character isn't your strong suit, is it?"

Estelle had no comeback—she was well aware it was her Achilles' heel.

Turning back, Magdalen noticed Evelyn rising and heading toward the adjacent balcony where Gabriel stood on a call.

She arched an eyebrow suggestively, "She's got a thing for Gab?"

Following her gaze, Estelle commented, "Old Mr. Quintin is considering a match for her with the Jarvis family."

Magdalen's eyes widened, "Old Mr. Quintin's going too far. How can he compete with me?"

"Compete with you?" Estelle was puzzled.

"Yeah, I introduced Gab to Sylvia first," Magdalen huffed, "There has to be some order to these things."

Estelle laughed despite herself, "Dream on. That blind date was a bust."

Magdalen lifted her chin defiantly, "Do you really think I give up that easily?"

Meanwhile, Evelyn stepped onto the balcony, waiting for Gabriel to finish his call before calling out, "Gabriel."

He turned, "What's up?"

Evelyn shook her head with a light smile, "Nothing major. I just can't seem to get a word in with their conversation. Can you keep me company for a bit?"

Gabriel responded flatly, "It's all girl talk. You'll fit in soon enough."

A flicker in Evelyn's eyes and a seemingly casual laugh, "I overheard Ms. Sampson and Ms. Jarvis talking about you."

Gabriel raised an eyebrow, "Talking about me?"
