Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 2192

Chapter 2192

A girl who had been eyeing a chance to strike up a conversation with Sylvia glanced her way, but apparently feeling outclassed, she awkwardly retreated to her friends.

Once inside the theater, an attendant came over, delivering popcorn and a steaming cup of hot cocoa.

Sylvia leaned towards Gabriel, whispering with a giggle, "Good thing we didn't buy anything!"

Her eyes sparkled with a hint of mischievous delight, her complexion creamy and her demeanor flirtatiously sweet, compelling him to playfully pinch her cheek. "All this joy over a tub of popcorn?"

Sylvia teased, "You have no idea, businessmen are always so shrewd!"

Gabriel chuckled, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

As the theater lights dimmed and the film began, the rustling whispers around them gradually subsided.

Sylvia had chosen a comedy, and bursts of laughter erupted throughout the theater.

Unable to contain herself, Sylvia doubled over with laughter, at times turning to rest her head on Gabriel's shoulder, her face flushing red with mirth and tears nearly springing from her eyes.

Gabriel gazed into her eyes, wrapping an arm around her, inviting her to laugh even more freely.

Before long, Sylvia noticed a young couple sitting in front of them locked in a kiss, utterly lost in each other in the dimly lit theater.

Resting against Gabriel's shoulder, her laughter faded as she occasionally glanced at the couple, whispering into his ear, "Maybe we ought to experience what others do when they watch a movie, to

truly say we've seen it?"

She looked up at him, her gaze traveling from his eyes to his lips.

Gabriel’s large hand blocked her view, "Stop it, let's focus on the movie!"

Sylvia pulled his hand away, still gazing up at him, her eyes watery and earnest in a way that tugged at the heartstrings.

Gabriel sighed softly, caressed her face, and leaned down to kiss her.

Sylvia clung to him eagerly, eyes closed, seeking more.

Whatever the second half of the movie was about, it didn't matter anymore.

Sylvia had suddenly discovered the real essence of a midnight movie.

By the time the movie let out, it was well past midnight, the world outside silent and chilly. Gabriel said, "Stay here, I'll bring the car around."

He knew she was cold.

The car was parked by a barbecue joint a half-hour walk away.

Sylvia held onto his hand, refusing to let go, "No, let's walk together. Don't leave me here alone."

Knowing her stubbornness, Gabriel moved to take off his coat, but Sylvia shook her head, "Your hand in mine is enough to keep me warm."

He looked at her deeply, then softly instructed, "Wait for me, just a minute!"

He strode off, crossing the street to enter a designer boutique across the way.

From the glass storefront, Sylvia watched his tall, straight figure without blinking until he reappeared with a new scarf in hand. He wrapped it snugly around her, took her hand, and together they stepped into the cold wind.

The breeze was biting, and the streets were nearly empty, but Sylvia felt an exhilarating buzz, perhaps from the novelty of her first movie experience, with even the complimentary cocoa tasting exceptionally sweet.

Half her face was tucked into the scarf, her bright eyes peeking out, and she asked Gabriel, "Did the girl end up with the lead guy in the end?"

Gabriel's brow furrowed slightly as he laughed, "Didn't you watch?"

Sylvia raised an eyebrow, "You were kissing me and blocked my view." NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

Gabriel was momentarily speechless.

Persistently, she prodded, "So, did they end up together or not?"

After a pause, he nodded, "They did."

Sylvia immediately beamed with joy, "That's great!"

Gabriel couldn't fathom what made her so happy; she hadn't paid much attention to the movie or even remembered the lead actor's name!

The half-hour walk passed swiftly, and they reached the car before they knew it.
