Hello, Mr. Brent

Chapter 272

Chapter 272

At dinner, Harry and Avery expressed their great gratitude to Emily and Franklin and wished them a

happy marriage.

Ivy still found the reality hard to accept, but being consoled by Ryan, she raised her glass and

congratulated them. Michelle, on the other hand, was as amiable as she usually was and enjoyed

talking with Emily. Alan was still the same. He just had a drink and didn't say a word.

In the midst of the meal, Emily wanted to use the bathroom. Since the bathroom in the private suite

was occupied by Michelle, Emily had no choice but to go outside.

But when she came out of the bathroom, she saw Alan coming too.

Emily was embarrassed to see him because of their old grudges. So Emily didn't intend to talk to him.

She just nodded politely as a greeting.

Just as she was about to walk past him, Alan suddenly said, "Are you looking for a child?"

Emily was stunned and immediately snapped to look at Alan with shock in her eyes.

Alan said faintly, "It's not a secret. Everyone knows that he's looking for a child all over the world. It's

not surprising that I know it, but I know a little more than others. I know where the child is." RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

"You're lying." Emily was taken aback, but she quickly calmed down. She didn't believe that Alan knew

the whereabouts of her son given that Franklin had been looking for so long without finding any

affirmative clues.

"I know you don't believe me, and I don't care. Anyway, I know where that child is. I can prove it. This is

a recent photo of him. See if he's your son." Alan took out his phone and showed Emily a photo.

Emily's eyes widened and she immediately reached out to grab the phone.

The child in the photo was indeed Bryce. She hadn't seen him for so long and he had changed a little.

He seemed to be taller, thinner, and his lips were pressed together tightly. Although it was just a blurry

photo, she still recognized her son at a glance.

Alan took his phone back, leaving Emily in huge disappointment.

"I can't give you the photo."

"Where did you see him?" Emily asked anxiously.

Alan said, "If you want to know, I'll wait for you at Miki Cafe tomorrow night. But Franklin can't know

about this. If you tell him, I won't tell you where the child is. You can try. He hasn't got any clues for so

long. If I don't tell you where the child is, he won't find the whereabouts of the child for another year."

"You took my son away, didn't you?" Emily gritted her teeth and asked.

Alan smirked and said, "To your disappointment, No. It's just a coincidence."

After that, he walked straight ahead and quickly turned into the bathroom.

Emily clenched her fists and wanted to stop him and ask him where Bryce was. But she knew she

couldn't because she didn't know if Bryce was in his hands. If she angered him, she didn't know what

would happen.

"Hey, you two weren't talking just now, were you?" Ivy came out, looked at Emily, and asked doubtfully.

Emily came back to her senses and looked at Ivy in a daze.

She didn't notice Ivy coming. She didn't know when she came and if she had heard their talk.

But judging from Ivy's puzzled expression, she probably didn't hear anything!

So Emily shook her head and said, "No. I barely know him. I have nothing to talk with him."

Ivy pursed her lips and said coldly, "Listen, you'd better stay away from him. Although it frustrates me a

lot that brother Franklin marries you in the end, I can do nothing about it. Alan seems inoffensive, but

he's actually ambitious. He's shrewd and dangerous. You'd better be careful."

Emily looked at her in surprise, "Why are you telling me this? Don't you hate me very much?"

Ivy immediately said in disgust, "I indeed hate you very much. Why on earth does brother Franklin like

you so much? People like you of humble origins don't deserve to stand beside brother Franklin. You're

not a good match from the beginning to the end. What's about you that has made you worthy of brother

Franklin's love? Of course, I hate you."

"Then you can continue to hate me! I don't care how the whole world sees me as long as Franklin

thinks I deserve his love." Emily said firmly.

Then she walked past Ivy airily.

"You..." Ivy gritted her teeth in anger and stomped her feet behind Emily.

But she couldn't fight with Emily, or her brother and the others would scold her again. She could only

stomp her feet in fury and walk to the bathroom angrily.

Emily assumed composure when she returned to the dinner table, but her face was a little pale

because of Alan's words.

Franklin quickly noticed her abnormality. He came close and asked softly, "What's wrong?"

Emily opened her mouth and wanted to tell him, but then she thought of Alan's threat and could only

keep it to herself and shook her head, "I'm okay. Just a little tired."

"Then let's go back early." Franklin said.

Soon the dinner was over. Harry suggested going to karaoke. Franklin refused and wished them a fun

night. Then he put his arm around Emily's shoulder and left with her.

Emily glanced at Alan when she left with Franklin. Alan remained the same, but his eyes were

profound.

"What ails you?" After getting in the car, Franklin let her lie in his arms.

Emily shook her head. Although she felt a little uncomfortable, it was nothing compared to the

discomfort in her heart.

She lay in Franklin's arms so that he could not see her face, afraid that he would figure out something

from her face.

"I miss Bryce." After a while, Emily couldn't help but say.

Franklin gave a start. He rubbed her forehead and said, "Jason is still investigating. Even if I have to

turn China upside down, I will find him."

"But I'm afraid... I'm afraid that he will forget us as time passes by." Emily clenched her fists and

sobbed.

Franklin lowered his head and kissed her hair, "No, he's our child. No matter how long it takes us to find

him, he's still our child."

Emily cried silently. She knew what Franklin said was reasonable and that he was comforting her.

But she was very upset. Now that she got a clue of her son, she couldn't wait to see him right away.

Fortunately, Franklin did not notice anything unusual about her. He just thought she missed their son.

After a night's rest at home, Franklin went to work the next day.

Naturally, Emily was still resting at home. She was not working now, so she didn't get up until ten in the

morning.

After getting up, she ate something, dressed up, and told the housekeeper that she was going out.
