Chapter 180 S2| Embarrassing Sister

The first ten seconds, Barbara looked like a pro. But the rest, she was in a daze.

"Are you sure you've studied fashion design? Louis' drawings are even better than that."

Barbara glanced up. Her hand gripped the pencil tighter.

"One minute is too short. I can't work under pressure. Creativity is not instant."

Frank pursed his lips. His expression was exactly like the twins who were thinking.

"I'm not demanding perfect results. I just want to measure the extent of your abilities. In 60 seconds,

you should be able to choose one of your favorite works and draw it here. Are you sure that designing

is your field?"

Barbara suddenly pounded the table. Her eyes sharpened. "Can you please not insult me?"

"That's not an insult, but honesty. Have you always been honest with yourself? You even write fashion

design as your calling in life. Are you sure about that?"

Unexpectedly, Barbara rose to her feet. The chair almost fell backwards.

"If you mind giving me a position, just say so. There's no need to play with me like this, let alone make

fun of me."

Frank was stunned to see the ugly face in front of him. When Barbara left the room, he could only sigh

in disbelief.

"Is she really my little half-sister? How embarrassing."

After throwing Barbara's doodles into the trash can, Frank rushed to the swimming pool. However,

before he had time to reach the stairs, Melanie's voice boomed. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Frank, is it true that you rejected Barbara's portfolio?"

Frank frowned. He turned around, reasoning, "I reviewed it."

"But you didn't give her a position!"

Frank took a deep breath. "Like I said, Savior is not a place for just any employee."

"He's your sister."

"My half-sister." Frank emphasized. "But that's not the problem. She's not worthy, Mom. She has no

skills, no self-control. Aren't you embarrassed if other employees see her working?"

Melanie fell silent. Her brain was spinning fast. "Did she instigate you? She asked you not to give

Barbara a chance? Was she afraid of us shifting her position?"

"Who is she that you mean?"

"Your wife!" Melanie widened her eyes. "She must have poisoned your mind to keep you away from

us."

Frank shook his head. "Kara isn't like that. She even asked me to—"

"Making things difficult for Barbara?" Melanie interrupted before snorting in disgust. "That woman is

cunning, apparently."

"Don't make me regret accepting you, Mom! Kara is not that kind of woman. Stop badmouthing her."

Melanie gasped. She didn't expect her son to dare to argue.

"Do you hate us too?"

"What are you talking about?" Frank sighed tiredly. "No one hates you, Mom."

"If you don't hate us, then why don't you want to help Barbara? Is it so hard to give her a chance?"

Frank pinched his temples. His eyes were closed to relieve the pressure in his head.

"Okay! I'll give her a chance. But just one mistake, she'll have to give up her post."

Melanie stopped nagging. Her face was frozen to avoid smiling. "What position did you give your

sister?"

"Emily’s field assistant."

Melanie's gaze changed meaning. "Emily? Emily who?"

"My daughter. She is developing a fashion business. If Barbara is in that field, she should be able to

adapt easily."

Melanie's sigh turned into laughter. "Are you kidding me? You asked your sister to be an assistant to a

four year old child?"

"Louis and Emily are not the same as other children. They are geniuses. Their abilities are far beyond

average, even college kids who failed to complete their studies."

"Are you mocking your sister again?" Melanie narrowed her eyes.

"So, does she want to or not?" Frank pressed back.

Melanie pursed her mouth tightly. "Fine. But if you play with Barbara, I won't stay still."

Frank smiled crookedly. "It won't happen as long as my half-sister doesn't mess up."

"Okay."

Without saying thank you, Melanie turned towards her own room. Frank couldn't help but stare at her.

In her heart, he felt guilty towards Emily.

"What?" Emily screamed when Frank told her about her new assistant. "Auntie Barbara became my

assistant? Then what about Philip?"

While Kara brushed his hair, Louis pursed his lips. "That means Philip is my assistant only."

Emily pouted. Her hands gripped the towel that wrapped her body tighter. "But I like Philip. I want him

to be my assistant too."

Frank smiled bitterly. "Philip is still your assistant, Princess. Daddy needs him to supervise your aunt's

performance."

"Does it mean Auntie will be in my study while I'm at school?"

Frank blinked for a moment. "You don't like it? But you can give her assignments to help your work

faster."

"There are lots of confidential documents in my room, Daddy. What if Auntie steals them?"

"You can keep it in the safe, Little Angel. Your secret is safe in there," Kara said as she pulled the brush

away from Louis' head. When he shifted, Emily filled his position.

"Does it mean I have to think of a special assignment for her? If she's busy, she won't have time to do

anything," Emily muttered, quietly.

"Give her a difficult task, Emily. She has to know that the world of business is tough. She can't just relax

and expect success," Louis said in his excited style.

"What are you thinking, Emily?" Louis leaned his head closer.

Emily smiled faintly. "Confidential!"

While Louis puffed out his cheeks, the tiny girl giggled happily. Her eyes were sparkling with

anticipation for tomorrow to come.

"Good afternoon, Auntie," Emily greeted as she entered the study.

"Is that your office uniform?"

Barbara glanced at the man standing next to Emily. Seeing the striking color of his tie, she snorted with

laughter.

"Why don't you just wear an orange jacket?"

Philip raised an eyebrow. "You think that's better?"

"Yes! I'm sure all eyes will be on you." Barbara smiled slyly.

Emily quickly shook her head. "Don't listen to her, Philip. You're cool in this black suit. Just vary your

tie. Oh, your tie is crooked."

Emily raised her hand. Philip spontaneously lowered one knee, allowing the little girl to fix his tie.

"Done! Your appearance is perfect again."

The corners of Barbara's lips twitched at the sight. Suddenly, her mood worsened.

"I've been waiting here for ten minutes. Now, you guys are enjoying yourself and ignoring me?"

Emily smiled. "Are you jealous, Auntie?" Her forefinger wiggled under her chin.

Barbara's expression immediately froze. "Who's jealous? I'm just bored. I came here to work, not to be

ignored."
