What’s between them?
Henry laughed hysterically.
“Good one. Nice one. The reporter did really great.”
Oscar nodded but he was still a bit concerned.
Why did he have to go through all this means just to make his son listen to him?
“Reward him, Oscar. He really knows what he is doing.”he carried his steaming cup of tea and draw a sip in then chuckle.
“But, who would have thought that she would go out with Zack?. What could be between them?”he stared up at Oscar curiously.
“I heard from the reporter that he was the one that saved her at the night party they all went too. According to his speculation, something might be going on between them.”
Henry clicks his tongue and moved his gaze away from him.
“I see..”he sighed out.
“Could they be lovers?”he questioned and squints his eyes.
Oscar narrowed his gaze, seeming to go into deliberation for a while then shook his head.
“I don’t think so. Zack doesn’t seems too interested in dating stuff. He’s always been buried in his work and he.. rarely goes out to parties also, so..”
Henry chuckled and shook his head.
“Oscar..”he drawled out.
Oscar raised his brows and bent a little to his call.
Henry points his staff at him.
“I am the old one here. So, why are you the one getting senile?”he let’s out an unsatisfied sigh before giving his nose a gentle flick.
“From what I heard, Doreen and Zack were once in a relationship, isn’t that so?”
Oscar’s eyes bulged out of their sockets.
“Yeah.. yes, boss. I’m sorry, I went out of it a bit.”
Henry nodded and snickers.
“It’s okay to snooze off a little, just make sure not to lose.”
“I’ll keep your advice in mind, chairman.”he bowed.
..
Amelia scrolled down the internet on her phone as she sashayed towards her white car.
She rolled the key on her finger and scoffs.
She got inside her car and groped the engine.
She threw her phone beside her and smirks.
“It’s going to get real hot soon.”she said to herself.
She drove down to the hospital where Beatrice’s mother was.
She puts on a face cap so as to cover up her identity.
She was supposed to go there with Brown but he backed out as he wasn’t willing to get his hands dirty as he had claimed.
She stepped out of the car and went inside the building.
She stopped by the nurses’ station to ask about the exact room Beatrice’s mother was.
“Good morning, ma’am. How may we help you?”a nurse looked up at her computer offering her a big smile.
“Uh.. I am here for Beatrice’s mom, Annabella.”she beats her smallest finger on the counter.
The nurse raised her brows and squirmed her lips as she watched the face cap lady.
She has not seen her face before and she cannot just allow any stranger walk into a patient’s ward with no verified identity. That could be dangerous as she might be there to harm the patient.
Amelia read the concern on her face and she quickly spoke up.
“I am.. her friend. She told me to help her check up on her mom as she is too be busy to come by herself.”
“But today is Monday.”the nurse furrowed her brows.
Beatrice always come to visit her mom on Friday and although, she eered in that routine once which was the previous week when she came on Saturday instead of Friday.
Amelia huffs and rolled her eyes.
“Are you suspecting me, nurse?. Come on, how do I know her name and her mother’s name if I wasn’t someone close to her?. And, how do I know her mother is being treated in this hospital?”she pretended to be angry.
The nurse sighed before bringing out some papers then placed it in front of her.
“Fill out the form, ma’am.”
“I have to check in?”Amelia scoffed.
“Not checking in. We are doing this just in case anything goes wrong then we would have someone to hold accountable.”she explained.
Amelia rolled her eyes before picking up the pen.
“And, don’t even think of lying cause I will enter your details in our system and if the name you writes down cannot be found on the census bureau record, we would not allow you to visit the patient in the ward.”the nurse warned as Amelia made to fill out the form.
Amelia jeers at her.
“I’m amazed the general hospital has such rule.”she huffs before looking down at the paper.
The nurse wanted to ask what she meant by that but she ended up not saying anything.
That might sound offensive, especially if she is indeed a true friend of Beatrice.
“Here..”Amelia slides the paper and pen to her.
The nurse gazed at it and entered it into the system.
The server loads for a while then brought out her name correctly just as she has wrote it down on the form.
She gave a nod, while eyeing her other name.
Winslow?
She felt familiar with that name but she shrugged it off.
Maybe she has seen a patient bearing that name before.
She stared up at Amelia who was throwing daggers at her.
Amelia tilts her head to the side.
“Are you satisfied now then, nurse?”
“I deeply apologize for the delay but we just have to fulfill all the formalities.”
“Can I get her ward number now?”Amelia huffs, throwing her hair back impatiently.
“Sure. She is in ward 91″she stretched her left hand to the side.
Amelia rolled her eyes before striding away.
The nurse gazed at her and sighed.
Even though she has left, her scent was still rich in the air.
She heaved a sigh.
Amelia got to the said ward and roamed her eyes all over the door.
She knocked on the door a little.
Well.. what?
She doesn’t know what to do.
She doesn’t wanna raise Beatrice mother’s alarm and let her become wary of her.
She has to act like her true friend, only then would she get Annabella to talk.
She pushed the door in and went inside. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
After all, the sick would not come to open the door for her neither usher her in.
Annabella’s eyes were opened that moment.
She reverted her gaze to the side and her face twitched a little when she saw a lady wearing a face cap comes in.
