Chapter 365
The way the two men looked at each other was full of jealousy and anger.
Just as Eliza was about to walk over to David, Casper gracefully wrapped his arm around her shoulder, his movements both smooth and assertively firm. "Mr. David is here too?"NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
David's face instantly darkened, his eyes locked onto Casper's hand on Eliza's shoulder, trying hard to hold back his fury.
"Casper, could you show some respect? She's my fiancée."
"Oh? Fiancée?" Casper raised an intrigued eyebrow, as if he were savoring the word, "I think, maybe not for long."
David's brow furrowed in alarm, "What do you mean?"
Before Casper could respond, Eliza turned to the men, "You should go back."
She shook off Casper's hand from her shoulder and calmly spoke to David, "David, wait for me a moment. I'm going to change my clothes, I'll be quick."
Eliza left, leaving the two men standing there facing off.
The air was thick with a tense and subtle hostility.
"Mr. Casper, do you always lack boundaries?" David's voice was sharp, "Val is my fiancée. Do you really have to be the third wheel?"
David thought, given Casper's high status, he would at least show some restraint. With all his options, there were younger and more beautiful women ready for his attention. He really couldn't figure out what was going on in this man's mind. Casper gave a faint smile, hands in his pockets, leisurely looking at David, "When I want something, why would I just give it up?"
"What you like?" David mocked, suddenly laughing, "How could I forget? Mr. Casper has always lacked morals. In marriage, you keep mistresses, double-dealing, pushing your wife to despair. Now, stealing someone else's fiancée seems to be
a step back for you."
Casper's past, those lost memories, remained a blank slate. What marriage, what mistresses? Was his past really that disgraceful? Watching the man's face darken with shock at his words was visibly distressing.
David continued, "I think you don't understand Val. She wouldn't marry someone unfaithful, someone who cheats. Even if it's you, Mr. Casper, she wouldn't."
"Sleeping together might just be a moment of impulse and pleasure, but after, everyone returns to reality, to sanity. I don't think Mr. Casper, you'd fail to understand even this."
"I'd advise you to give up on this idea, or you'll end up embarrassing yourself."
David's words stirred ripples, not too
big or too small, in Casper's mood. His lips were tightly pressed. His face was shadowed, looking unusually heavy. He didn't know if what David said was true or false. Why were those memories like a black hole, swallowed by darkness, vanishing without a trace?
Before Eliza came back downstairs, Casper had already driven away. His mood fluctuated with the rolling of the wheels. His eyes seemed
desperate to find that missing piece, yet terrified of the impact of the
truth.
The quiet living room of the Welton Estate. Dillon stood respectfully opposite Casper.
"Did I... have I... been married before?" His voice was low, uncertain.
Dillon: ...
He really didn't know how to answer. What result Casper wanted, he was completely in the dark.
"Mr. Casper, why do you suddenly ask this?"
"If I don't ask, will you not tell me anything?" Casper's dark eyes were filled with anger, "Dillon, do you not want to be my assistant anymore?"
