"Harrod, what's your wish?" Lilith tapped her son on the shoulder.

Ever since Harrod had started middle school, his personality had changed drastically, and Lilith felt like her son had entered the rebellious stage.

"To get full scores for my final exam and make Mom happy," Harrod said.

Lilith had not had the chance to study while growing up, so she made sure that her son focused on his academic achievements and was pleased to hear what he said.

Ben was instantly rendered speechless, and Lilith was overjoyed.

After breakfast, the girls gathered to discuss topics like gossip, beauty, and fashion tips, while Harrod went to play video games with Robert.

"Have you all noticed that kids don't cling to you as much once they grow up?" Lilith asked gloomily.

"Lilith, are you feeling lonely?" Shea asked with a smile. "I thought you mentioned that you wanted a second child."

"I want to, but I just can't. It's hard to get pregnant when your partner is old."

"Just let it runs its course. It's alright even if you don't get pregnant." Avery did not want Lilith to be upset with Ben because she could not get pregnant.

"I'm just bored. I guess one simply shouldn't have too much free time on hand but going to work just to pass the time is too tiring," Lilith sighed. "Whatever. We should be talking about happy things during New Year's! I don't plan on going home tonight, so let's play poker while we wait for the countdown!"

"Are you really going to stay up all night?" Avery asked.

"Yeah! It's a festive celebration so there's no time to sleep! Who is playing with me? You and Elliot?"

"Me, I guess! Your brother is getting old so let him rest."

Elliot walked over. "I heard you talking about me."

Lilith burst out laughing. "Elliot, you have great hearing. We were hardly loud!"

Just then, Ben came over and said

to Elliot, "Avery said that you are getting old and need your beauty sleep. These two intend on staying up all night, playing poker.

"Lilith, your husband is even better. He heard every word we said," Avery said.

"I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I heard you mentioning a second child, and I knew that you were talking about me," Ben swore.

"I don't recall blaming you for that, right?" Lilith asked.

Ben nodded. "No, you didn't."

"Then stop eavesdropping." Lilith dismissed him and he immediately walked away.

"Ben is so obedient now!" Avery chuckled.

Lilith smiled sweetly. "He is becoming more patient as he grows older. I guess it's the same with Elliot, right? It's been so long since I saw him get mad."

Avery nodded. "Indeed. That's

already been the case before Ivy came home, and now that she is back, there's nothing that could upset him. By the way, we plan on traveling after New Year's.

"That's good! All the kids have grown up, and you don't need to keep tabs on them all the time anymore. Wait, isn't ayla's wedding taking place after New Year's?"

"Yeah. We are jetting off after her wedding." Avery had already planned everything with Elliot.
