His Eagle Eyes on Me

Chapter 2900

A week later, Hayden's holiday in Aryadelle ended, and Avery and Elliot sent him off to the airport.

"Hayden, if you want a girlfriend, try your best to look around you when you are back in Bridgedale. Be more proactive," Avery reminded him. "Love doesn't just fall into your lap. You need to look for it." "Are you really not going to move your company to Aryadelle? At least open a branch here," Elliot said.

Avery wanted Hayden to find a partner, while Elliot wanted him to stay by their sides.

"I will consider what you two have said. Go home! I will call you when I arrive," Hayden said.

"Yeah. If you can't really hold your liquor, don't drink so much next time," Avery added thoughtfully.

Hayden's mind was instantly brought back to how he had been tricked at Layla's wedding.

Though it was now in the past, he would never forget what had happened that night when he had given his first time to a stranger.

At this point, he could no longer remember what the woman had looked like because he had been struggling through the effects of the drug that night.

"I know," Hayden said and waved at them. "I will head to the lounge now."Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

"Go on!" Avery watched as Hayden disappeared from sight before leaving with Elliot.

On their way home, Elliot's phone rang, and he took it out to find that it was a call from Wesley.

Wesley was a close friend of Avery, so Elliot did not hesitate to answer.

Avery leaned over to listen in on the conversation but could not hear what Wesley was saying. Elliot's expression darkened, and his grip around his phone tightened. "Where are you two right now?!" Elliot growled.

Avery's heart sank at the tone of his voice and thought to herself, 'Did something happen to Shea?"

As soon as Elliot hung up, he told the driver to head toward Elizabeth Hospital.

With a lump in her throat, Avery took his hand and asked, "Did something happen to Shea?"

Tears welled in Elliot's eyes, and he said in a hoarse voice, "Wesley said that the doctors diagnosed her with brain failure last year and that she has been hiding it from us."

"Brain failure..." Avery mumbled as the light in her eyes dimmed.

"Is there no way to treat it?" Elliot grabbed Avery's hand tightly.

"Elliot, I need to have a look at her first... But I wouldn't get my hopes up. You know that Shea has taken great damage to her brain before more than once even. Even with advanced technology, I'm afraid there's nothing much we can do for her," Avery said, not wanting to lie to Elliot.

Elliot suppressed his tears and stared at her. "Are you saying that she is beyond saving?"

"I don't know. Medical technology

isn't exactly advancing swiftly, and we can't stop death. We are still powerless, when faced with certain diseases, and even if we don't fall sick, we will all eventually die. Elliot, get a grip on yourself." Avery held his hand in both of hers, hoping to offer him consolation.

They arrived at Elizabeth Hospital.
