Chapter 3004
He wanted to see what Shelly's daughter looked like, and he wanted to know how old she was.
"Damn, that woman! She appears so calm and composed, but who would have thought she had such audacity?! It's no wonder that she was willing to let us have Aiden in the first place; it must have been because she has been keeping the other child to herself! Otherwise, as a mother, how could she bear to give her child to someone else?" Hayden thought furiously.
"Mr. Tate!" Fergus chased after Hayden. "What's wrong?!"
Fergus had no idea what he had done to provoke such anger from Hayden.
"Don't follow me!" Hayden angrily shouted.
Fergus immediately stopped and began to reflect on which words might have upset Hayden. No matter how much Fergus thought about it, he could not figure it out.
He had told Hayden about Shelly having a child right from the beginning, and Hayden had not reacted with surprise or curiosity back then, which further confirmed that Hayden already knew about Shelly's child. Moreover, Shelly had told Fergus before that Hayden was aware of this matter.
Fergus could not understand what was happening and was afraid of losing his job because of it, so he had no choice but to call Shelly.
Shelly saw the incoming call and immediately stepped out into the yard to answer it.
"Shelly, I have to confess something to you. I just had a conversation with my boss." Fergus's voice sounded uneasy.
Shelly's heart immediately started to race. "What did you talk to him about?"
"We talked about you."
"Huh? About me? What did you say?" Shelly's face turned red, and she began to panic.
A sinking feeling snuck into her bones. Fergus would not have called her if nothing had happened.
"I told him that you have feelings for
him, and I hope he won't string you along! After all, we're friends and come from the same place. I didn't intentionally go to talk to him; it was just that I ran into him in the canteen today, so I mentioned it. I had no idea he would suddenly get so angry. I don't know what happened," Fergus's voice started to sound teary as he worried about his job
security.
"Fergus, why did you say these things to him? It's between him and me. Why would you do this?" Shelly suddenly felt dizzy and could not imagine how she would face Hayden the next time they met.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
and I didn't want him
"We're friends an
to deceive you. I didn't do anything wrong!" Fergus sounded somewhat aggrieved. "Shelly, didn't you tell me he knew about your daughter? Why did he get so angry when I talked to him about your daughter?"
"You talked to him about my daughter?! Fergus, didn't you promise me that you wouldn't talk about these things with anyone else?" Shelly flushed. Breathing

became difficult for her, and she felt like the earth beneath her was shaking.
Hayden's reaction must be because he found out about Audrey, and Shelly could not think of any other reason for his sudden burst of rage.
"I mentioned your daughter because you said he knew about her! And he asked me about it, so it wasn't me bringing it up," Fergus sounded a little choked. "Shelly, are you mad at me as well? Did I really do something wrong?"
Shelly immediately went into the living room and grabbed her bag. Knowing that Hayden would come looking for her soon, She needed to leave immediately.
"Fergus, this is really complicated, and I can't really explain right now. Don't panic. You haven't done anything wrong. Just get back to work!" Shelly said before hanging up.
"Shelly, are you leaving?" Avery asked when she spotted the panicked look on Shelly's face.
Shelly nodded with a troubled expression. "Aunty Avery, something came up and I need to go now. I will come to see Aiden again."
"Oh, okay. I can get our driver to drop you off!"
"It's fine. I can easily call a taxi from here," Shelly said and hurried out of the house.
Just then, she received a call from Hayden.
