Chapter 183: Look Away
Yanis lowered her eyes and glanced at her flat stomach. "It should be all right."
In fact, Yanis also wanted to get out of the city.
As Bonnie said, the air in Manches City was just too depressing these days.
There was something depressing about it everywhere.
Bonnie took a bite of the apple and said, "I'll have Dr. Watson follow me. I think she's going to b City
soon."
Dr. Watson was brought in by Bonnie specifically to do examinations for Yanis. It was also Dr. Watson
who helped Yanis to get stable this time.
"How do you know?"
"When I talked to her last time, she mentioned it. She told me that she couldn't come to check on you
for the next few days. In this case, I can ask her help if you need anything when we get there."
Ivan nodded. "Then you can call her later and ask her. She can come with us. It will be reassuring to
have a doctor there in case of any emergency."
All three of them were very active. After they confirmed this plan, Bonnie and Yanis started to pack.
However, by the end of the evening, they gave up.
Someone on Bonnie's side placed a new order. Also, there was a wedding dress she made before that
she had to readjust because of a minor issue.
Yanis had to work on her designs for the finals, and neither of them would be able to go to b City for the
time being.
So, on the day of departure, only Ivan went to b city alone.
Over the phone, Ivan didn't seem to mind that much. "I'll take you somewhere else when you're done
with your work."
Bonnie sighed. "Ivan, please come back and help us."
Ivan laughed. "I can't know that stuff. How can I help you?" Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Forget it. You're useless, too."
"What about Yanis? How is she these two days?"
"Yanis, do you only care about her all day long?"
Ivan coughed. "What about Miss Cooke? I miss Miss Cooke."
Bonnie tutted. "Unbelievable. I'll hang up. Don't call me anymore."
"Ivan? Did you start the trip?"
Yanis came out of her room and looked over to Bonnie, who was lying on the living room couch.
Bonnie handed Yanis the phone and said, "why don't you talk to him while I go get something to eat?"
Yanis took over the phone and sat down on the couch. "Ivan."
"Is Bonnie good at cooking?" Ivan asked over the phone.
Yanis glanced at Bonnie as she started working in the kitchen. "That should fill her stomach."
Ivan chuckled. "What about I'll send someone over?"
"No need. Bonnie and I will just grab something to eat. After you get back, you can cook for us, won't
you?"
Ivan listened to Yanis and said jokingly, "I'll take care of you two from now on."
When Ivan said "you two", he didn't include Bonnie.
He was just referring to Yanis and Yanis' baby.
Except that the meaning was probably only known to Ivan himself.
Because Yanis thought he meant her and Bonnie.
"Okay, then we'll have the rest of our lives in your hands."Yanis then asked, "What about your wife?"
"I will take care of her too."
Yanis chuckled. "No wonder Bonnie said she didn't want to talk with you before."
Ivan laughed. "Or you can have takeout food for the next couple of days. I'll be back as soon as I can."
"Ok, we'll wait for Ivan to come back soon."
After hanging up the phone, Yanis was about to get up to get some water. The phone suddenly
vibrated.
It was a message notification from Twitter.
Yanis clicked on it.
Yanis couldn't help but tighten her hand when she saw the photo.
It was only for an instant, then she was back to normal.
After all, this man had nothing to do with her anymore.
Whoever was standing next to him, it was none of her business.
But she had to admit that it was difficult to ignore Zane.
With her pretty face and perfect body shape, Zane looked very charming.
She was smiling next to him and they looked like a cute couple.
They seemed to be the right person for each other.
"What are you looking at?"
Bonnie watched Yanis staring at her phone and took a closer look.
When Yanis saw what was on her phone, she sneered. "He's such a bastard!"
Bonnie reached out, took the phone over, and put it aside. "If you're not busy, why don't you take a walk
and stop looking at all this stuff?"
Yanis laughed. "I was only checking causally."
"How casual?"
Yanis, "..."
"We have no eggs and no noodles. Let's go to the supermarket and get some. By the way, we can eat
lunch outside."
"We don't have anything left at home?"
"I didn't buy much that day, either. After all, Ivan said he would take care of our food for a year, so I
thought he would buy all the food. But who knew that it would change so fast and he went on a
business trip? We have to rely on ourselves now."
In the end, Yanis got changed and left the house with Bonnie.
It was a rare sunny day in Manches City.
Bonnie stopped by the studio to pick up some items. She gave her assistants some tasks and took
Yanis to the city center.
After having lunch, the two were ready to stroll around for a while.
Maybe it was because she was pregnant, Bonnie and she wanted to go to the baby store.
All the little clothes hanging there looked so cute.
Bonnie picked out a dozen outfits without checking the price.
Yanis looked at her in silence. "The baby is not even born yet. Why are you buying so many clothes?"
"Well, don't you think they are very cute? Besides, they are not for you."
Yanis reached out to take the clothes from Bonnie's hand and put them back. "The baby needs to be at
least one year old to fit in these clothes. Right?"
Bonnie grunted, glancing at the clothes in her hand. "They seem to be a little bit big."
After putting the clothes back, she pulled Bonnie over to the other side. "These should be smaller."
"Hi, how old is your baby? These are clothes for a newborn baby."
A soft voice came from behind them.
Yanis and Bonnie turned around.
Bonnie said, "it's for a newborn baby."
The woman on the side recognized Yanis almost immediately when she saw her. "Oh, no, you're not
divorced?"
Yanis recognized the woman in front of her and smiled awkwardly when she heard this. "Do you work
here?"
The woman said, "I am the boss here."
Bonnie stood by and looked at them. "You guys... Know each other?"
The woman nodded. "We met at the Civil Affairs Bureau."
