Chapter 247 What Are You Doing?
Yanis seldom saw Zane look so dishevelled.
Panicked, Zane looked at Yanis surprisingly as if he was going to see her through.
Yanis pursed her lips and raised her hand, showing the breakfast to Zane. "I went to get us some food."
In the morning, Yanis usually didn't want to cook herself, so she always went out to buy some
breakfast.
Zane seemed to regain his senses, silently took a step back, and let Yanis in.
After Yanis came in, he closed the door and followed her with only one slipper on his foot.
Yanis laid out all the breakfast on the dining table, then Zane suddenly stepped forward and hugged
her into his arms.
Yanis froze. She didn't push Zane away but just stayed in his hug.
After a while, Zane's voice sounded behind her, "I thought you were gone."
When Yanis heard his words, she was taken aback for a moment, and then said, "This is my place, you
should be the one to leave. Why should I?"
Zane hummed in a muffled voice and was silent for a while. Then, he apologized in a low voice, "Sorry."
The apology came from nowhere, but Yanis didn't ask why, and Zane didn't explain either.
Zane hugged Yanis for a while and was unwilling to let her go.
Yanis had to remind him, "Go wash up and come have breakfast later, or it will turn cold."
After hearing Yanis's words, Zane released her, turned around, and entered the bedroom without
saying anything.
Looking at his back, Yanis suddenly felt that Zane seemed different from before. She actually felt a little
bit of loneliness inside him...
When Zane came out from washing up, Yanis was almost full.
Some croissants and milk coffee were still reserved for Zane.
"The bread is still fresh, go ahead," said Yanis.
Zane sat down opposite Yanis.
Yanis saw that he didn't take any food, and said, "Maybe I can make a cake for you, okay?"
Zane shook his head, "No, thanks."
He took the croissant.
Staring at Zane, who was sitting opposite her, Yanis suddenly fell into a trance.
They had been married for five years, but seldom had breakfast together.
It was difficult to have such a moment in the past, which could only exist in Yanis's wildest imagination.
But now when they were already divorced, they were suddenly granted this kind of warm moment.
Yanis's thoughts were interrupted by the ringtone of Zane's cell phone.
She glanced at Zane and then continued to take her own food.
Zane got up and went to get the phone. After a glance at the screen, he didn't answer it but hung up
directly.
Out of no reason, Yanis felt that the call had something to do with Neve.
The phone rang up again.
Frowned, Zane hesitated for a few seconds and then answered, "What's the matter?"
He spoke with pronounced impatience and distance.
Yanis was not sure what was said on the other side of the phone but found a grave look on Zane's
face. "Obviously, there is nothing wrong with Anika's mental state, so who are you accusing?"
When Yanis heard this, she couldn't help but look up.
Zane turned his back to her. Even if Yanis couldn't see the expression on Zane's face, she felt that he
should be furious at the moment.
"I've already said this before, I won't horn in, but if you bother Anika again, I will force myself into her
matters," said Zane.
Then, Zane hung up the phone directly.
Zane stood with his back to Yanis for a few seconds, then put away his phone, turned around and
walked over.
Yanis looked away right in the moment he turned around. She ate the breakfast that already turned
cold with an absent mind.
Zane came over, sat down in front of Yanis again, and then drank up the milk coffee in silence.
After Yanis put down her coffee, she glanced at him and asked, "Are you ... going back to Manches
City today?"
Zane looked up at Yanis, "Yes. Yanis, will you go back with me?"
Yanis paused for a moment and said, "I ... can't go for now."
Although she agreed so impulsively yesterday to give Zane another go for they two, she was still
reluctant to go back with Zane right now.
Zane wanted to say something to Yanis, but thinking of what had happened in the past, he didn't start it
but said something else, "I still have something to deal with in Viteto. I will stay here for the next two
days."
"You also have a project in Viteto?" asked Yanis.
Zane nodded, "Yes, we signed the contract a few days ago."
In fact, this contract was signed entirely because of Yanis.
Days before, Albi found out that Yanis came to Burumal, but no further traces of her afterwards.
No one could conceal Yanis completely from others, except Myles.
Zane once asked Myles about Yanis's whereabouts, but Myles replied, "Mr. Lawrence, I know you love
your wife, and I love my girlfriend, too. If I tell you about it, my girlfriend will dump me. So, I'm sorry."
If Bonnie didn't allow Myles to leak where Yanis was, Myles would never tell others about it.
So Zane had failed to find Yanis.
If he hadn't seen her in a mall yesterday, he might've not been able to find Yanis even when he finished
the project here.
Yanis didn't pay much attention to Zane's company business, so after hearing what Zane said, she
didn't think further about it.
After breakfast, Yanis put the laundry into the washing machine, and also washed Zane's clothes.
Zane tailed after Yanis closely.
No matter where she went, she would always find Zane right behind her if she turned around. Then, Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Yanis was about to do some cleaning. As soon as she got the mop in her hand, Zane grabbed it from
her and said, "I'll do it."
Yanis looked at him in astonishment. "Do you ... know how to mop the floor?"
Zane turned around and went to the balcony, wet the mop from the sink, and then walked into the
room.
"Wait!" Seeing this, Yanis hurriedly yelled to stop him. She stepped forward, snatched the mop from
Zane's hand, and said, "The mop is too wet, full of water. If you sweep the floor with it, there will be
water everywhere on the floor and it won't get dry soon. "
Yanis wrung out the water on the mop and then handed it to Zane. "Go and mop."
Zane took the mop and entered the master bedroom.
Yanis hesitated and followed.
Seeing how Zane was mopping the floor, Yanis was a little speechless.
"Mr. Lawrence," said Yanis.
Zane stopped and looked at Yanis who was standing at the door. "What's wrong?"
"Have you ever seen someone mopping the floor without even bending his body?" Yanis looked at him
and said, "Mr. Lawrence, is there something wrong with your body?"
Zane stood there staring at Yanis for a while, then leaned the mop aside, and walked up to Yanis.
Seeing Zane coming, Yanis subconsciously took a step back. "What ... are you doing?"
Zane gazed at her with a faint smile around the corners of his mouth. "Mrs. Lawrence, don't you know
how strong my body is?"
