Chapter 825: Want to Have a Chat Alone with You
The news about the fire at South Park was only reported around ten o'clock. Neve's death was also
reported. The internet was filled with discussions. People were saying all sorts of things.
Bonnie leaned against Yanis and sighed after reading the news on her phone. "What was she trying to
accomplish? After finally getting out, she ended up taking her own life."
Yanis was also curious about what Neve was thinking. "Maybe... she had her own reasons," she
replied in a low voice. "But I do think there's something wrong with her mind. Otherwise, she wouldn't
have done such a crazy thing."
Yanis listened to Bonnie's words but remained silent. Even though she didn't like Neve and disagreed
with her actions, she couldn't fully comprehend Neve's state of mind. "One who hasn't experienced
hardships cannot persuade others to do good." Yanis understood this.
Seeing that Yanis didn't respond, Bonnie changed the topic. "By the way, where did Ivan and Zane go?
Why haven't they come back yet? Do they plan on leaving us starving here?"
It had been three hours since they left at nine o'clock.
Yanis glanced at the time on Bonnie's phone and asked, "Are you hungry?"
"A little, but I can hold on," Bonnie replied.
Yanis handed the phone to Bonnie and suggested, "Why don't you call Ivan and ask?"
Bonnie took the phone from Yanis's hand and asked, "What do you want to eat? I'll ask him to bring it This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
for us."
Yanis was about to speak when someone knocked on the door of the ward, and Albi walked in.
"Mrs. Lawrence, Miss Cooke," Albi greeted them.
Yanis looked at Albi in surprise. "Why are you here?"
"Mr. Lawrence has something to take care of. He might be late, so he asked me to bring lunch first."
Albi placed the food he was carrying on the nearby table and considerately arranged everything. "Mrs.
Lawrence, if you need anything else, I can go buy it for you."
Yanis looked at the table full of food. "The two of us can't eat all of this."
Yanis then looked at Albi and suggested, "Albi, have you eaten? Why don't you join us?"
Albi nodded. "I've already eaten. Please go ahead, Mrs. Lawrence."
Bonnie got out of bed and helped Yanis up. "Let's eat first. If we can't finish, we'll see."
The food that Albi brought was what Yanis liked to eat, but it also took Bonnie's preferences into
consideration.
As they were eating, Haider walked in carrying a basket of fruits. "Mr. Lawrence is really considerate."
"Haider," Yanis greeted him.
Haider nodded and looked at Bonnie. "Are you benefiting from Yanis?"
Bonnie replied, "Of course, I'm definitely benefiting from Yanis. Otherwise, how could I afford to eat
such delicious food?"
Haider chuckled and then turned to Yanis. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine now," Yanis replied. "Let's eat before it gets cold."
Haider nodded. "Alright, you eat. It'll get cold later."
Yanis nodded and said, "Okay, Haider, please have a seat for a while."
After they finished their meal, Albi tidied up the table, exchanged a few words with Yanis, and left the
ward.
Haider stayed in the ward for a while before leaving. As soon as Haider left, Zane arrived.
Bonnie stood up when she saw Zane and said, "I have a checkup later. I'll go back to the ward first."
Hearing Bonnie's words, Yanis looked at her and asked, "Shall I accompany you?"
"No need. The nurse will take me. You won't be able to go in anyway," Bonnie explained.
Yanis didn't say anything more when Bonnie said that. "Then I'll come find you later."
"Okay," Bonnie agreed before leaving the ward.
After Bonnie left, Yanis looked at Zane and asked, "Are you done with your work?"
Zane nodded and handed Yanis a bag. "I brought you some clean clothes."
Yanis glanced at the bag and asked, "Do I still have to stay here?"
"You'll be discharged once the doctor checks you and finds no issues. But you still need to change your
clothes, right?" Zane replied.
Yanis nodded after a moment. "Did you tell Grandma and the others about my hospitalization?"
Zane shook his head. "No, I didn't."
Yanis breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Zane's response. "That's good. It would only worry them if I
told them, and besides, there's really nothing wrong with me."
After speaking, Yanis looked at Zane and asked, "What were you talking about with Ivan this morning?
It took quite a long time."
"Just casual chat," Zane replied.
Not wanting to pry further when Zane said that, Yanis continued, "Did Ivan go back?"
"Probably," Zane answered.
Meanwhile, at the Baxter's Mansion, when Ivan returned, neither Madison nor Ryan were present. The
house was being cleaned by a housekeeper.
The housekeeper was surprised to see Ivan return. "Ivan, why are you back? Mr. and Mrs. Baxter just
left. I'll call them to come back."
Ivan acknowledged with a nod. "Go ahead and call."
After speaking, Ivan headed straight upstairs.
The innermost room on the second floor was a small study exclusively for Madison. Normally, even
Ryan wasn't allowed inside.
Upon reaching the top of the stairs, Ivan went straight to the door and turned the doorknob, only to find
it locked.
Ivan turned around and entered Madison and Ryan's bedroom. He searched the bedside table and
found the key to the small study. He then returned to the door of the study, unlocked it, and walked in.
Inside, the room was simple, with only a desk and a small bookshelf.
Ivan searched for a while but couldn't find what he was looking for. After hearing voices downstairs, he
turned around and left the study, heading downstairs.
Ivan's sudden return stirred some excitement in Madison, considering the unpleasant argument they
had before. As Madison caught sight of Ivan, she hurriedly approached him. "When did you come
back? Why didn't you say anything in advance? Your dad and I..."
"I have something I want to talk to you about privately," Ivan interrupted before Madison could finish her
sentence.
Madison's smile faltered upon hearing Ivan's words, but she nodded. "Okay."
Ivan glanced at Ryan standing nearby and greeted him. "Dad."
Ryan nodded. "You two talk. I'll go to the study."
After Ryan spoke, he turned and went to the study.
Ivan looked at the busy housekeeper standing to the side and quietly instructed her to leave as well.
Afterward, only Ivan and Madison remained in the living room.
Madison reached out and pulled Ivan, urging him to sit down. "Let's talk while sitting."
Ivan didn't sit next to Madison but instead took a seat on the single sofa opposite her.
"What do you want to talk about?" Madison wondered in her mind. Ivan seemed like he was about to
lower his head, because in Madison's mind, Ivan was a filial child. So if he came back on his own
initiative, he must be planning to apologize.
