Chapter 22: You Can’t Afford to Mess With Me
Chapter 22: You Can’t Afford to Mess With Me
He was still angry nonetheless, but it wasn't directed towards Vivian.
Vivian belonged to him. He would not allow anyone else to cast disdainful eyes on his possession.
Chow stopped in his steps and turned to a girl who had the biggest sneer on her lips. His gaze was so
piercing that it was almost suffocating.
The girl quickly noticed his glare and stopped sneering. She wanted to seem nonchalant about the
whole thing, but a few seconds later, she lowered her head in guilt.
However, Chow did not intend to let her go that easily.
He thought it was pointless to deliberately embarrass a nobody like her, but he still wanted to leave her
with a warning because of whatever awkward situation Vivian would face from her classmates later.
Chow walked over to the girl's side and said in a low voice, "What did you just say? Repeat it to my
face."
People who liked gossiping about other people usually feared face-to-face confrontation like this.
Hearing his direct question, the girl suddenly felt uneasy and glanced around nervously. "I-I didn't say
anything."
Chow narrowed his eyes dangerously. Despite it being a hot, sunny day, the students couldn't help
feeling a shiver down their spines as the atmosphere turned frosty and more daunting than last night's
storm. It was so silent that one could hear a pin drop.
"If I learn of you bullying Vivian again, I will make your whole family suffer. This includes everyone
standing here," Chow said. "Whoever bullies Vivian will have to answer to me!" It would have been
absurd if it was another person in his twenties threatening a group of high school students like this, but
this was Chow, who was on a completely different level altogether.
Everyone knew that Chow wasn't joking when he said that. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
They could feel the chill exuding from him.
A simple sentence, spoken with such authority, made it hard for the others not to believe that Chow
wouldn't follow through with his threat.
The girl that he called out felt rather embarrassed. "Who do you think you are?" she questioned back,
although feeling intimidated by him. "Did you really think you can threaten me like that?"
Just then, someone in the crowd blurted out, "Oh my goodness, it's Chow Howard!"
Chow's name was a legend in Holy City.
Because of him, the Howard Group, which Chow had taken over from his grandfather at a young age,
had expanded its branch offices to more than 30 countries worldwide in just a few years.
Even these high school students were aware of Chow's successful entrepreneurship.
Naturally, Chow could also make anyone suffer a fate worse than death itself at just the snap of his
fingers.
Hearing the voice coming from the crowd, everyone's face turned pale at once. The girl who answered
back also stared at Chow in shock, the disdain in her eyes immediately replaced with horror.
But the changes did not make Vivian feel any better.
Even if none of the students dared to say anything behind her back because of Chow's threat, she
knew that they still looked down on her and labelled her as a wh*re.
She tried her best to steady herself on her feet and broke free from Chow's embrace. "Brother Chow,
my next class is about to begin," she whispered softly. "Can you please go back first?"
Vivian's attitude towards him was rarely so calm and collected, which infuriated Chow. However,
thinking about her current situation, he managed to keep his anger under control.
Chow scoffed and fiercely swept his eyes over the crowd of onlookers, preparing to leave.
Just then, he saw a good-looking boy in the crowd hesitantly walking forward.
Chow's eyelids twitched. He stopped, waiting for the boy to approach him.
The boy stopped in front of Chow. After hesitating for a while, he carefully asked, "You are Vivian's
brother, right? I heard from Vivian that she lives with you now. Actually, if you help her clarify the
situation, I'm sure the rumours will stop."
As the boy spoke, he kept glancing secretly at Vivian with a soft blush on his face. Anyone could tell
that he had a crush on Vivian.
...
How dared someone else covet his woman?
Chow grabbed Vivian's hand and forcefully pulled her back into his arms, right in front of the boy. Then,
he harshly pressed his lips against Vivian's trembling ones.
Vivian was too shocked by his sudden action. She didn't know how to respond.
Finally moving his head away, Chow sneered at the boy. "Yes, she calls me big brother. But only when
we're both alone."
