Invincible Heir

Chapter 12 I have a dad

Chapter 12 I have a dad

The Perry family courtyard.

Tracy had only just come home, and before she got round to put her slippers on, Sherry was in her

face fuming as she asked, “That trash - he went to the office today?”

“Mom, please, I’m dead tired. Can you just stop bothering me?” Tracy said, thoroughly worn out.

With Baron taking on her impossible task, her brow was already blistering with worry. At this point, she

really didn’t need more on her plate.

“This is no time to be skulking about!”

Sherry’s bearing was one of complete distress. “I heard it all. Your Granddad offered you a choice in

the Perry Clan weekly regular meeting - marry Joker, or somehow find a way to gain collaboration with

the Brone Group, or else we’d all be banished. And that piece of trash actually agreed in your place.

He’s brainless garbage. It doesn’t mean you have to be! Why aren’t you marrying Joker?”

Tracy had run herself to the ground working connections all day long for her task, but it turned out she

couldn’t even set a single foot into the Brone offices. She was plenty fed up already, but now Sherry

herself was dredging it all back up again.

“Mom, I’m begging you, let’s just stop talking about this. They’ve got their boot on me in the office. They

keep their boot on me when I try to talk business. And now that I’m home, you want to put your own

foot down too?” Tracy demanded, eyes rimmed with red as her bottled emotions threatened to break

her apart at the seams.

“Our daughter’s been through enough even before she made it home. Give her some space.”

From his seat on the sofa, Terry set down his newspaper, helplessness in his bearing.

Sherry rushed her way into his face, hands on her hips as she raged, “Terry Perry! Do you have any

idea the kind of mission she’s taken on? Gaining collaboration with the Brone Group is utterly

impossible, and if this goes on, we’re going to be thrown out of the Perry Clan in three days.”

“I’m back!”

In that moment, a cheerful voice rang out, and the bright visage of Yuri Perry swept into the room.

“I’ve got good news for everybody…”

Having just entered the house, she took in the unpleasant atmosphere, from her raging mother to her

helpless father to a despairing Tracy.

“What’s this, then?”

Sensitive as always, Yuri made her way to Tracy’s side first, taking her hand in her own. “You all right,

Big Sis?”

Tracy shook her head lightly. “Yuri, pick up Lara for me. I’m going to my room.”

“What good news? Your sister just agreed to secure collaboration with the Brone Group, and if she

can’t, we’re all getting kicked out of the clan.”

Having released a fair bit of her temper, Sherry calmed down, studying Tracy’s receding back.

“Sis!”

Yuri perked up immediately at Sherry’s words, raced towards Tracy before she could leave, and

beamed, “Sis, I’ll get this collaboration business done for you. After all, I’m a part of the Brone company

now!”

Life found its way back into Tracy’s previously hollow eyes, and she grasped Yuri by the arms, excited.

“You’ve really been hired by the Brone Group?”

Right after her question dropped, Tracy’s expression dimmed again, and she shook her head bitterly.

“Even if you’re in, there’s not much you can do to help me. Not as a new hire.”

A twinge of doubt snaked its way into Yuri Perry’s mind, but her heart ached to see her sister in such a

state. Still, she put on a determined front and said,“Trust me, Sis, it’ll be fine. My good friend Bonnie is

an actual HR manager in the Brone Group, and she’s got decent relations further up the chain. I’ll ask

her for help, and we’ll definitely net you that collaboration.”

“That’s great! Thank you, Yuri!”

Tracy’s eyes were shot through with red now. After a full day of trouble over this business, there was

finally some good news.

Yuri rolled her eyes impatiently. “You’re thanking me?”

With that, she turned to face a rejoicing Sherry. “Mom, I’ll take care of this for Big Sis. She’s gone and

worked herself to the bone today, so stop fussing already.”

Sherry repeated a jubilant ‘yes’ several times before continuing. “That’s my daughter for you. First the

Lewis Clan - richest family in Cona! - stops by to drop off betrothal gifts, and now she’s got her foot in

the door with the Brone Group. I’d like to see anyone look down on us from now on.”

“I’m going to fetch Lara!”

With a pleased smile, Yuri turned to leave, and with a roar of the engine, her white Maserati

disappeared down the road.

Brone Group Cona branch, penthouse office.

Camel stood quivering before Baron, giving a comprehensive report of recent business to be

conducted.

Baron, in the meantime, was seated in his office chair with a document in his hand.

“Chairman, there’s a great many companies who desire collaboration with the Brone Group. The list

you’re holding is my handpicked selection of the most capable few. If you would but consider it some

more, and see which ones you’d like to choose to be our partners?” Camel prodded carefully.

Baron gave the list a perfunctory glance. Essentially, they were all famed enterprises in the State of

Cona.

“Add in the Samho company under the Perry Clan. You can handle the rest of them.” With a casual

flick, Baron tossed the list towards Camel.

At the mention of the Perry Clan, a smidge of hesitation entered Camel’s eyes, but he still asked away - This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

“Chairman, the Perry family doesn’t even rank among the second-rate clans, so this Samho Group…”

“My wife’s name is Tracy Perry.” Baron stated directly before Camel could even finish.

Shock passed through Camel’s face, then panic. “Apologies, Chairman, sir, I didn’t know Mrs. Perry

was your wife; she stopped by the office a few times today looking for me, and I didn’t meet with her

once.”

As the last sentence dropped from Camel’s mouth, his unease grew as well.

Baron wasn’t angry. “Pay a personal visit to the Samho Group tomorrow and deliver a collaboration

agreement, but don’t reveal my identity to anyone. Understood?”

Camel rubbed cold sweat off his forehead and hurried to comply.

Lifting his hand, Baron looked at the time. “Kindergarten should be wrapping up around this hour.”

With that, he rose to leave.

Blue Sky Kindergarten.

A white Maserati stopped in front of the kindergarten gate. A pair of slender legs and thighs appeared

and slid out of the car.

The beauty drawing countless eyes was, of course, Yuri Perry, a mild smile still playing about her lips

as her long hair billowed in the wind.

Paying no heed to the gazes in her direction, she strode towards the kindergarten, and the crushingly

disappointed males around her realised that this beauty had long since been taken.

It was rush hour for picking up children, and there was no way for the teachers to take care of every

child at once.

Yuri searched for a good while before she picked out Lara’s voice, but just as she was about to call out,

the beginnings of her gentle smile gave way to a frown.

Lara’s youthful face was distorted in anger as she stood opposite a small boy. The two of them looked

to be arguing.

“You! Yeah, you! You’re just a wild child, a brat without a Dad! That’s right, and I’m going to hit you,

too!” the boy crowed.

Holding back her tears, Lara yelled, ‘I have a Dad! Shut up!”

“You’re a wild child, so how could you have a Dad?”

The boy said loudly, raising his pudgy hand to shove her.
