Chapter 62
Chapter 62
Alex‘ POV
“Good morning, beautiful,” I whisper, a smile playing on my lips,
“Good morning, Alex,” she replies, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and nerves. Are you ready for this?”
I intertwine my fingers with hers, offering her a reassuring squeeze. Tve never been more ready.”
She nods, determination glinting in her eyes. “I believe in us. We’ll face them head–on and come out victorious.
That we will dol… I promise you that….
After a quick breakfast downstairs where Jace, Del, and Freddie waited for us, it approaches ten and I know that the day ahead is no doubt going to drag In.
The living room fills with a sense of purpose as everyone makes small talk and seems buzzed for the fight…. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
1 keep Lottie close to me, finding comfort in her presence.
Freddie gives us a final pep talk, emphasizing the importance of staying focused and maintaining control -as he talks us through how the event will run. He assures us that everything has been arranged for Lottie and Anna’s safety during the fight–which greatly puts my racing mind at ease…
“They better tum up!” I laugh out loudly, as Anna finally joins us having just woke up herself as she yawns.
“I think they are too cocky not to… they seriously think they’re in with a chance tonight… Freddie chuckles darkly, causing us all to laugh now as Anna sits beside us on the sofa.
After what Jason, Holden and Tommy have done to my girl in the past… they don’t stand a chance against me tonight none of them I’ll destroy their faces and dignity all in one.
I could probably take all three of them together and still cause deaths I’m that fucking pissed off….
They
won’t return back to this town when I’m done with them anyway that’s for damn sure!
“What time are we heading there today?” Del questions, as I think on it briefly.
“The other fights start at seven, then my rounds don’t start until ten… I say we get there for around eight.” I tell them my plan, as everyone seems happy with that
“Perfect my boy! I better head off out and make sure everything is looking good down at the venue! Best of luck although I’m sure you won’t need it!” Freddie stands from his position, moving to shake my hand firmly, before Del leads him out of the house…
“He’s really excited…” Lottle comments, her nerves evidently kicking in.
“It’s probably a good thing now that you both snuck in to the last fight… at least you both know what to expect this time around!” Del enters the room again with a chuckle, as my eyes narrow at binu.
I was pissed when Lottie had followed us to my last fight down at the mill… I don’t take back how I reacted either since she could have ran into trouble there! I wouldn’t have forgave myself if anything had happened to them- especially at one of my fights!
The worst part was, we didn’t even know they were coming. Things could ve went a lot worse if they hadn’t ran into Del and Jace before the fight! None of us would’ve known!
“It was a joke bro! Stop trying to melt me with your eyes!” Del laughs and shrugs me off, before plopping down back onto the sofa,
“Later when we get there, I’ll go in first. I want confirmation that the three of them are already at the event before we bring the girls in. That way I have tabs on where exactly they are in the building and we can sneak the girls in and upstairs without any hassler I announce, as lace agrees with me.
“Everything will be fine.” He comments next, as I hear Lottie inhale a shaky breath
“Don’t be scared Lottie, I’ll be right by your side!” Anna places a hand on her shoulder, as Lottie thanks her briefly…
I could tell from the sight of her that she was terrified – rightfully so as it was a natural reaction–after all, I am stepping into the ring to fight her three bullies and life long torturers tonight.
I would be more worried if she wasn’t nervous about it…
As the day progresses, we distract ourselves from the anticipation that threatens to consume us, instead focusing on making lunch, watching TV and sitting out in the sun.
As the sun begins to set, casting a warm glow over the surroundings, we head back inside to get ready knowing that it was time. The anticipation in the air grows heavy…
Lottie and Anna both decide that they are going casual–wearing gym leggings, a sweatshirt and sneakers. They voiced that they felt highly uncomfortable dressing up for such an event which we all understood….
I wore my usual boxing shorts, slid on my boxing trainers and tossed a zipper on top to cover my bare torso.
“It’s after eight, are you guys ready to go? We are running behind!” lace calls out from downstairs, as I exit the bathroom to find Lottie as she stands before me – fidgeting with her hands.
“Doll it’s going to be ok… you can do this… I approach her instantly and separate her prying fingers from one another, feeling how tense she is under my touch
Tm scared Alex… now that we are actually leaving to go there… knowing that I’ll see them in person soon… what if I completely freak out and have another park attack Her breathing quickens as she speaks, before 1 quietly hush her and pull her to me.
I hold Lottie tightly, my arms wrapped around her as if to shield her from any harm. I press a gentle kiss to her forehead, letting my lips linger there for
a moment.
“Listen to me, Lottie,‘ I say softly, my voice filled with reassurance. “I know it’s scary, but you’re stronger than you think. You deserve happiness and they deserve this punishment more than ambody – you know that! Let me do you proud, pretend it’s just some regular opponents meeting me in the ring: You don’t even have to watch if it’s too much! Jace and Anna will be right there with you!” I encourage her, and whisper the comforting words into her hair.
She moves to look up at me, her eyes filled with vulnerability. “But what if I freeze up and cause a scene? What if I can’t handle it? She whispers crushing my heart at the sight.
I cup her face in my hands, looking deep into her eyes. “You won’t freeze up. Remember why were doing this. Remember the pain they ve caused you, the torment they’ve put you through. This fight is your chance to reclaim your power, to show them that they can’t hurt you anymore because you have us… you have me now Lottie! Not to brag doll… but I’m actually a pretty decent fighter you know! I laugh slightly, causing her to let out a small giggle.
Lottie takes a deep breath next, her features softening as she absorbs my words. “You’re right, Alex. I won’t let them win anymore. I’ll fight for myself. for us, for my new life here. I can do this…”
ross my face, pride swelling in my chest. That’s my girl. Now let’s go show them what we’re made of.”
A smile spreads across my
Together, hand in hand, we make our way downstairs to join Jace and Anna. Del waits by the car, ready to drive us to the arena as we set the house alarms and lock up.
The engine revs to life as we climb in, feeling safer all travelling together in my black SUV with the tinted windows….
The drive to the venue is filled with a mixture of feelings as Del plays some fight music‘ as he calls it in order to help hype me up.
Thoughts of the impending battle swirl in my mind, as I hold Lattle beside me in the backseat. My focus remains on her and getting her through this night as safely as possible…
It isn’t long before we arrive, the ver
venue buzzing with cars and with an overall dark energy. It always felt the same at these fights…
This venue was in an abandoned warehouse on the edge of town, taking you underground before reaching the large arena.
The sound of the crowd filters through the air as we park up the car in the far comer. I step out of the car first with Del, the cool night air hitting us as
WER
we make our way towards the entrance – where two of my men
awaited us.
“They are already inside Alex, in their designated dressing room. We have two of our guys posted there so that we know if they leave the room at any point before the fight. It’s best if you bring the girls in now…” He informs me briefly.
With that, I inhale a slow steady breath, tum hark towards the car and gesture for them all to get out and follow me….
Here goes nothing….
