Chapter 12 (Killer)
Chapter 12 (Killer)
“Sir, you need to sign in,” The nurse says as she hands me another board.
“Reception called ahead,” She says when I don’t sign in straight away. I take a deep breath and sign
the form and ignore her curious gaze.
“Miss Bray is on the 4th door on the right,” She directs me. I head to Sienna’s room, not looking into the
other rooms as I walk past. Kylie and Raven are sitting on the couches inside the room. The room is
enormous, and the bed is a queen-size normal bed. Sienna is out cold with drips in her arm and hand.
The side lamp is the only light in the room.
“They gave her a mild sedative, she lost a lot of blood,” Raven informs me.
“No shit,” I respond.
“You know she’s going to need our help,” Kylie says.
“Tough shit. She’s gone as soon as she and her baby are fit to hit the road.”
Frost narrows her eyes, “She’s gone as soon as she is safe.”
“Don’t take me on with this little sister, you would lose,” I warn Kylie, because with Sienna Bray there is
no outcome which ends with her staying.
“She is my family,” Kylie says in an exasperated tone I KNOW all too well. Normally, I would cave into
my sister’s demands, but not when her safety and the clubs are at risk.
“She’s dangerous, and you and I both fucking know it. Do you remember what she tried to do?” Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
“It was 10 years ago, we have all changed,” Her voice rises and she makes it sound like my
reservations are incredulous.
I slide a hand through my blonde hair, my eyes glinting as my sister stands up, breathing hard. She’s
getting angry. At least she still feels even if it is mostly anger. Unlike me, I am an unfeeling fucker and
in some cases it is a good thing. It helps keep the ones I need to protect alive. Even when they don’t
like it.
And my little sister will not like it one bit.
“Natasha was in the boot of her car. River is setting her up with a room.”
Frost’s eyes go wide, “What? What the fuck was she doing in the back? She emailed me last week said
she was fine and on her way to Chicago.”
“You should get home. Spade, Raven, and I will keep Sienna safe.”
Frost smiles, and it isn’t a good one, as she plants her ass on the couch, crossing her long legs.
“You can go to Natasha. Raven, Spade and I will keep Sin safe, run along now,” She makes a shooing
motion.
“I will do nothing to harm Sienna, she’s just had a fucking baby,” I tell Frost as Raven gets up and goes
to the bathroom, not wanting to hear our conversation.
“Like you did nothing 10 years ago? When she was half bleeding to death?”
“She almost killed Diamond’s father, knocked you unconscious, and although she says it was a mistake
was it, really? Do you know what Sienna has done? The people she has hurt, manipulated? Are you
really willing to take that risk, little sister? Because I guarantee you, this will not end well for any of us
involved. Lucca is still missing. We are in the middle of a war, with already enough people to protect,
we don’t need to add to that.”
Her eyes drop, and I know the logical reason is at the mention of Lucca. I know the logic, I just don’t
feel the empathy.
Growing up Frost would spend hours teaching me, helping understand emotions, so when my mother
cried and when she hugged me, I could pretend for her benefit I actually gave a fuck. Didn’t stop her
from leaving us though for months without even a phone call. I didn’t care, I really didn’t but Frost did. It
cut her deep. She cried because she never understood what she did that was so bad. Which was the
reason I spent most of my time at the Bray manor.
“It’s been almost 6 years, we can’t keep looking for a man who is so deep in hiding, he is probably lost
himself,” Kylie doesn’t look at me as she voices out what I knew Beggar was thinking as well. They
both wanted to move on with their lives, but Lucca will never let that happen.
“He attacked us less than a year ago. We can’t keep fighting, either. We need to find him and end this.
This isn’t just about you and Beggar any longer, it’s bigger than that.” It’s a harsh truth to tell my sister,
but it is a truth.
Lucca Sanati came into our lives when Beggar walked through the club’s door, and he became our
enemy when he took my sister and turned her into this- a half living woman.
And maybe he wasn’t the reason Frost killed Vincent, but he was the reason Vincent became the
psychopath he ended being. I can’t blame the man for all of it, but he played a leading role. Since then
he has attacked our Clubhouse 3 times in 5 years and caused not just one but 7 deaths in the club. He
was a coward, and cowards always made a mistake.
“And then what? His death won’t change the past, it will never make it all go away. Everyone thinks his
death would somehow bring me back and change Beggar, but it won’t. This is who I am, Kevin.” Frost
says, and I hear the note of sadness in her words. She stares at me from across the room and I want to
say something that would make it right. I want to have the words to tell her I am okay with who she is,
but then it will be a lie. I’m not okay with this version of Kylie.
