Chapter 62
Just then, Wilbur launched another kick at Duran’s stomach.
A loud thud cang through the air as Duran was once again sent flying. He spat out a large amount of blood before landing heavily on the ground, promptly falling unconscious
As he landed on the ground, a palm–sized teken fell from his clothes and rolled to Wilbur’s fool.
Wilbur waved a hand, and the token flew into his
grasp.
It was a rather ancient–looking token. The token was completely black and covered with engravings of clouds, save for the blood–red sword in the middle of it.
There seemed to be a strange energy that was seeping out of the token, trying to enter Wilbur’s body.
All Wilbur had to do, however, was use the slightest bit of power, and the token was sealed off, all its energy trapped within
itself.
After some pondering, Wilbur put the token away.
There seemed to be something off about it, su he planned to take it home and study it.
All of that happened in the blink of an eye, and Jose had just returned to his senses.
He could hardly believe that Wilbur had taken Duran down just like that.
He had never quite seen such terrifying power before..
Jose struggled to get to his feet, bowing deeply to Wilbur. “Thank you for saving my life, Sir. I pledge my life to you. I shall serve you whenever you need me. All you need to do is ask.”
Wilbur glanced at him. “You’re injured pretty badly.”
“Yes,” Jose said, ashamed. “My skills were insufficient, and Duran injured my internal system. It’s going to take some time for me to restore myself before I can serve you, Sir.
Wilbur frowned. Come with me for now, then
“Of course.” Jose did not dare to retaliate, but he glanced at the still–unconscious Duran.
Wilbur said, “It’s up to his own fate whether he lives or not. Just let him be.”
“Yes, Sir”
Wilbur got in the car, and Jose sat in the back before the car continued driving.
Nancy sat in the passenger seat, staring at Wilbur in a daze as her chest thumped excitedly
Everything she had seen that night had completely turned her worldview upside down. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Gods like this really did exist in real life.
What she found hard to believe was that her desk mate from school, the introverted, orphaned kid, had turned out to be one such brilliant being.
No wonder he had hardly needed to say much for the Torrents to apologize to him at once. That was how powerful he truly
Not long after that, Wilbur arrived where he was supposed to drop Nancy off. The pair got out of the car, not knowing what to
say
Nancy did not know what to say, and Wilbur did not know how to begin explaining any of this to her.
In the end, it was Wilbur who broke the silence. “You saw everything, so I won’t hide the truth from you. After I left school, a miracle happened, and now I have superhuman strength.”

“I saw that,” Nancy mumbled.
Wilbur sighed. “Can you keep this a secret for me?”
“Of course.” Nancy smiled
Wilbur nodded, smiling back at her. Nancy waved, then turned to enter her apartment.
Wilbur only got into the car after Nancy disappeared from his line of sight. After that, he drove back to Castlebury.
Just as he had parked the car, Wilbur saw a figure kneeling at his door. It was unclear how long the person had been there.
