Chapter 1039: The Death of Ron Jefferson

As things progressed, Ron Jefferson found himself unable to continue. It was as if he had stumbled

upon some earth-shattering secret. Coughing violently, he began to cough up large amounts of blood,

looking utterly deranged. Hearing this, Chris was left dumbfounded. "The Hall of Death... just a

plaything for certain individuals?" It was just that-a mere plaything, yet potent enough to annihilate the Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

four major aristocratic families of Amerosia in a single night. It could exert control over the overseas

Jefferson family, a force of such terror! And this was merely the tip of the iceberg of the Hall of Death's

power. What kind of terror lurked behind the Hall of Death?

For a moment, Chris was stunned, a rare flicker of shock in his eyes. "Hahaha!" Ron Jefferson burst

into laughter upon seeing this. He was delighted. He hadn't expected Chris, this upstart, to also

experience fear! Staring at Chris, Ron Jefferson yelled hysterically, "Chris, you can't compete with

them! Accept your fate! No matter how hard you try, no matter how many pieces of the Dragon Emblem

you gather, in the end, you'll only be making bridal clothes for them!" "I hate it! I hate it so much! I've

spent decades planning, and in the end, it's all just a joke..."

With those words, Ron Jefferson coughed up another mouthful of blood. Eventually, his body went

limp, and he collapsed to the ground, lifeless. "Master! Master!" the steward cried, tears streaming

down his face. Chris glanced at Ron Jefferson's body, said nothing, and turned away.

"Boss!" "Chairman!" Upon seeing Chris emerge, Tiger, Aiden, and others immediately approached.

Chris surveyed them all and said, "The Jefferson family of Star Island will cease to exist from this day

forward!" This declaration struck them like a thunderbolt, especially the members of the King's

Leagues, each wearing a complex expression. They all knew the implication of Chris's words. The end

of the Jefferson family meant Ron Jefferson's demise.

The next day, a major announcement spread like wildfire: Ron Jefferson, head of the Jefferson family,

had passed away, leading to the complete collapse of the entire Jefferson family. This news sent

tremors throughout Star Island. No one had anticipated that the incredibly formidable Jefferson family,

one of the top families on Star Island, would fall in such a manner. Rumors circulated about the truth

behind the family's downfall, with whispers suggesting that the Jefferson family had offended someone

they shouldn't have.

The collapse of the Jefferson family left behind a vast estate, which naturally became the object of

everyone's desire. However, the King's Leagues promptly stepped forward, announcing the takeover of

all the assets left by the Jefferson family, causing those eyeing the estate to back off. After all, the

King's Leagues were not to be trifled with.

"Chairman, are you really leaving for the East Coast?" Aiden asked respectfully, his emotions

conflicted. Without Chris, Aiden would never have regained control of the King's Leagues. However, he

knew that from now on, he was bound to Chris. He would have to defer to Chris in all matters, knowing

that if he dared to betray Chris, his fate would mirror that of Ron Jefferson.

"Yes," Chris nodded. "I've been away for so long; it's time to return. But don't worry, I'll be back soon!"

With the Jefferson family resolved, it was time for the Chester Group to expand beyond Amerosia, with

Star Island being its first stop. Aiden assured, "Chairman, I have already taken over all of the Jefferson

family's assets for you. When you return, the disposal of these assets will be in your hands!"

The estate left by the Jefferson family was immense, valued at billions. Aiden knew that all of it

belonged to Chris, and he wouldn't dare touch a single item. Star Island would become the overseas

base of operations for the Chester Group.

Chris nodded, saying nothing. Although he didn't particularly value the Jefferson family's assets, they

would undoubtedly aid the Chester Group in its expansion beyond Amerosia. Moreover, in Chris's

mind, the commercial behemoth that was the Chester Group would eventually belong to the Dragon

Lord and the nation. The wealth was merely a temporary custodianship for the people of Amerosia.

Soon after, Chris departed without lingering, boarding a plane back to the East Coast.

Meanwhile, in Amerosia, within a hidden mansion in Middleton, a cloaked figure knelt before a masked

elder. "My lord, I have failed to retrieve the Dragon Emblem fragment from Ron Jefferson's

possession," he said, visibly anxious. The elder, the enigmatic Lord of the Hall of Death, stood with

deep, angered eyes. Chris had obtained yet another piece of the Dragon Emblem. This wasa scheme

he had laid out, intending for Chris and Ron Jefferson to mutually destroy each other. When both were

weakened, he would strike, seizing the Dragon Emblem fragments from their bodies. He hadn't

anticipated Ron Jefferson's incompetence or Chris's immense strength, rendering his plan futile.

"It's likely that Chris already possesses at least three Dragon Emblem fragments," he muttered. "One

from Jefferson Village, one from the Yang family, and one from Ron Jefferson. As for other fragments

on Chris, I am unaware, but we cannot allow him to obtain any more. Even if we gather all the

fragments, Chris could likely deduce the location of the Dragon Lord's tomb."

Gritting his teeth, the elder declared, "This is the limit. We cannot let Chris live any longer. He's become

too formidable." Previously, he had disregarded Chris, but after their last encounter in Middleton, he

had begun to regard Chris seriously. Now, after yet another defeat at Chris's hands, the latter's position

in his mind had surpassed everyone, except for one individual-their leader.

The cloaked figure remained silent, understanding the immense difficulty of eliminating Chris. Even if

the entire strength of the Hall of Death was deployed, it would come at an exorbitant cost.

Finally, he hesitated before speaking, "My Lord, there are those who are extremely dissatisfied with this

situation. They wish for you to provide an explanation..."
