Chapter 945: Finalizing the Wedding Date
Ruud cast a guilty glance at his daughter, only to find that she hadn't paid any attention to his reaction.
Pressing his lips together, Ruud spoke hesitantly. "Dad, that's not what I meant. I was just thinking... isn't it a bit too early for them to come over? We haven't even decided when Tina's wedding will take place."
Warren pondered for a moment before responding slowly, "The wedding should have been held long ago. It was Alina who insisted that Tina's biological father must be present for the ceremony. Then she fell into a coma, and the wedding was postponed until now. Any further delay would be inappropriate. You're her father-it's time to stop obstructing the young couple. Enough is enough!"
"This is the perfect opportunity. Both families are here. Let's finalize the date for the wedding today."noveldrama
Warren understood Ruud's reluctance to accept Jared. After all, he himself had been hesitant to let Tina marry so soon. The Pace family had waited for years to welcome their first granddaughter-a remarkable one at that. How could they not want to keep her at home for a few more years?
If Tina hadn't been with Jared before returning to the Pace family, Warren wouldn't have allowed any suitor to take her away so easily. But the reality was that the young couple had been together for a long time and already had their marriage certificate. It was no longer appropriate to separate them.
Finally, Warren left the decision to Tina. "Tina, what do you think?"
Tina raised her eyebrows slightly, her gaze sweeping briefly toward Ruud. "It's about time."
Ruud was speechless.
Ah, there was nothing he could do. His sweet little girl's loyalty clearly leaned toward the outside. What choice did he have but to go along with it?
Warren nodded in approval. "Alright! Then let's settle the wedding date today. Tina, remember-no matter how strong you are, your family will always be your support."
"Thank you, Grandpa," Tina replied with a nod.
Around ten o'clock, Logan arrived with his entire family.
The group was complete. Not only were Jared's parents, Asher and Marie, present, but Simone had also come, accompanied by a smiling Sophia. The attention given to Tina was more than evident.
Warren's smile deepened as he stepped forward to greet Logan.
Asher and Marie respectfully greeted Warren in return.
Jared then turned to Ruud and Alina, nodding and addressing them one by one. "Grandpa, Master, Father."
Warren and Alina nodded in satisfaction. Ruud, though reluctant, eventually gave a grudging nod as well, officially acknowledging his son-in-law.
After exchanging pleasantries at the entrance, the group moved into the main hall.
Having a moment to herself, Tina approached Simone with a polite greeting. "Simone."
Simone smiled warmly. "Tina, we'll truly be family from now on."
Tina nodded lightly, finding that she quite liked this feeling. Family at her side, and her love by her side too.
Sophia suddenly threw her arms around Tina. "Tina, I've missed you so much! Please marry Jared soon so that I can see you every day."
Tina patted Sophia's head, noticing that she had grown taller, and smiled. "Did your brother tell you to say that again?"
Sophia blinked quickly, pouting slightly. "No! Can't I miss you just because I want to? Or is it that you only think about Jared and not me..."
Tina raised an eyebrow, deliberately changing the subject. "You've learned to lie now?"
Caught, Sophia lowered her head immediately. "No, he just told me not to say too much, afraid you'd get upset."
Simone chuckled as she looked over. "She's been restless ever since Jared started preparing for the wedding. She's been going on about when you'd arrive, worrying right alongside him."
Tina was surprised. "What's Uncle been busy with at home?"
She had been leisurely staying at the Pace family house these past few days and assumed her uncle was just as relaxed.
Sophia shook her head like a little adult. "You don't know? Jared's been like he's on a sugar rush these last few days. He's been glued to his phone, constantly asking questions-even down to how many diamonds are on your wedding dress. Mom says he's completely obsessed."
Tina couldn't help but laugh. "There's no need for all that. I could make a call, and someone would deliver a dress. As for jewelry, I've got plenty."
"No way!"
Sophia fixed her gaze on Tina, her expression serious. "Mom says that a woman's wedding is the most important event of her life. You can't have a casual attitude about it. It has to be prepared with care, and only if Jared arranges it himself will it show his sincerity."
Simone nodded in agreement. "That's how it should be."
Tina glanced at Simone and softly called out, "Aunt Simone."
Simone shook her head with a light smile, her voice calm and tinged with resignation. "I'm fine. I told you-it was all my choice."
She had been prepared for this outcome when she made her decision back then. There were no regrets for the sacrifices she had made for the organization.
Seeing the slightly heavy atmosphere between the two, Sophia tugged on Tina's hand, her voice soft and pleading. "Tina, after you marry Jared, can you stay home a bit more? I want to see you often." Tina agreed without much thought. "Of course."
By family tradition, she and Jared would stay at the Farrell family estate for a while after the wedding.
Sophia's eyes lit up. "Really? Jared said your new home is already renovated. I thought you'd go straight there."
New home?
Tina raised a brow, realizing her uncle had prepared a surprise for her.
While the elders continued discussing the wedding inside, Tina decided to take Simone and Sophia for a walk in the backyard.
With her uncle present, there was nothing she needed to worry about.
They passed through traditional corridors until they reached the backyard. A vast lotus pond stretched endlessly before them, the vibrant green leaves and colorful flowers creating a breathtaking sight.
The beauty of the scene instantly captivated Sophia, who clutched Tina's hand excitedly and pointed at the lotus blossoms. "Tina, look! These lotuses are so beautiful. How can there be so many different colors? It's amazing!" Even Simone was taken aback by the serene landscape.
She took a deep breath and couldn't help but admire it. "To grow such exquisite lotuses here, Warren must have put in a great deal of effort."
Tina nodded. "He did. These are Grandpa's treasures. He even trims the plants himself and rarely lets anyone else touch them. Other than my mom and me, no one is allowed to pick them freely."
After the incident with Poppy falling into the water, Warren had tightened security, forbidding outsiders from approaching the pond at all.
Hearing that it was okay to pick the flowers, Sophia's eyes sparkled as she gazed longingly at a delicate pink-and-white lotus nearby. She pressed her lips together but ultimately held back. As a guest today, she didn't want to trouble Tina. Noticing Sophia's fondness for the flowers, Tina smiled. "Which one do you like? I'll pick it for you. You can put it in a vase, and it'll last for two or three days."
Sophia's head shot up, her dark eyes gleaming with excitement. "Really? Tina, I want that pink-and-white one!"
"Alright," Tina replied with a gentle smile.
What do you think?
