Love after Betrayal (Casper and Natalie)

Chapter 21

Chapter 21

--- Chapter 21 I Didn’t Say So

Natalie held her tattered dress close, her heart racing with fear.

Tears fell down her cheeks.

Alexis had arranged the meeting, and he bought the dress for her too.

Harold did want her to have a few drinks with him.

He said he would approve her loan if she slept with him, but she refused without hesitation.

She was pregnant, so alcohol was off limits for her, and she splashed Harold’s face with the wine due

to his insults.

That crossed him, and he said he would never approve her loan.

She wanted to save her company, but not like this.

“I don’t care about marrying you, Casper! We’re getting a divorce tomorrow.

This is not a negotiation.

It’s a statement.

You disgust me,” RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

she said coldly as she got up.

Casper’s face fell.

She hated him.

Even if she didn’t say it, he could see that she thought of him as something worse than a demon.

His rage finally erupted, and he couldn’t hold it back anymore.

He clenched his fists and roared, “We’re not getting a divorce unless I say so!”

He finally broke down.

He had waited for her the whole day, thinking she would come to him, but she didn’t.

She went to another man instead.

Even if she didn’t spend the night with him, meeting up with someone else while wearing something so

revealing was wrong.

At least to him it was.

Natalie was furious as well.

Then, she roared back, “Why do you get to call all the shots? You don’t get to control me, Casper! Over

my dead body!”

He looked at her darkly and she shivered.

If looks could kill, she would have been dead a hundred times over by now.

Terrified, Natalie took a few steps back.

“Guards, lock her up and take her phone away.

Don’t give her any food or water.”

… Tyler took a few important documents to Casper the next day since he didn’t go to work.

“Where’s the madam?”

Tyler was surprised Natalie wasn’t around.

“Conrad and I ran into her last night at the bar.

She was really brazen.

Splashed her wine at Mr. Quinton.

The guy was so mad that he said he would make sure the madam gets no loan.

I texted you last night.

Didn’t you see it?”

Casper had been too busy to look at his texts.

He picked up his phone and saw that Tyler really texted him.

“These are urgent, Mr. Langston.

You need to sign them,”

Tyler reminded him.

Casper signed them, after which Tyler took them and left.

A moment of silence later, Casper looked at the ground.

“Conrad.”

A slender man with short, silver hair came in.

This man was Conrad Sullivan, Casper’s personal driver and bodyguard.

“What do you need, sir?”

“Release her,”

Casper said.

Conrad scratched his head in confusion.

“Her? But Sergei’s lackey is a guy.

He hasn’t said anything though.

I’m trying something new.

I’m sure he’ll talk.”

Casper’s lips curled downward.

“I mean Natalie.”

“Oh.

You’re releasing her so soon? I think you should torture her more, but don’t worry.

We locked her up in the basement.

Soaked her in the bathtub too.”

Casper gave Conrad a murderous look.

“Why did you soak her in the bathtub? Release her!”

Conrad was just trying to teach Natalie a lesson for Casper.

He thought she was too arrogant, but he never expected Casper to get this mad about it.

He quickly said, “Yes, sir!”

Someone pulled her out of the cold water ten minutes later.

She was shivering after being soaked the whole night.

Beads of water dripped from her whole body.

She was shivering, but the look in her eyes was firm.

She refused to relent, nor did she throw a tantrum.

Casper was in his study, staring at the surveillance camera footage.

He was looking at her.

He never asked Conrad to keep her underwater.

He was just trying to teach her a lesson and tell her to stay away from other men.

Casper gulped, his eyes glinting.

He had never fallen for any woman up until now, but for some reason, he just couldn’t shake the look of

Natalie crying out of his mind, nor could he forget her special scent.

It kept haunting him and whispering into his ears, lighting up his primal urge.

He thought what he did the day before was childishly absurd after he calmed down, but he would do

the same thing if he had to do it again.

Casper then closed his laptop.
